I am native Caymanian and have spent my entire life here in the beautiful Cayman Islands. This condo on the beach is my piece of paradise that my wife, children and grandchildren enjoy from time to time. Growing up in Cayman has been a unique experience and being a former member of the Cayman Islands Government with responsibility for tourism. I feel extremely proud to share our paradise with others!
The Owner purchased this condo in 2004
This location is so tranquil, away from the commercial hustle and bustle of hotels and cruise ship traffic. It's truly unique and a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy life in Cayman!
It's quiet, tranquil, relaxing! A true get-away! Great beach, beautiful crystal clear waters and amazing quality facilities.
We are so disappointed to be leaving, but we will be back-hopefully for even longer. We both have had health problems and this trip is exactly what we needed. We really relaxed and had fun in the water and saw lots of amazing things. We enjoy your Retreat #22 - it certainly is: "Tranquility At It's Best"! We only moved our car one day in the whole week - We were just satisfied and completely happy here and didn't need to go anywhwere else. We are already talking about our next visit.
We spend a week at this condo and loved it! It was clean, quiet, comfortable, and affordable for our family of 4. It is 30 minutes to the Georgetown area, but we cooked most of our meals in the condo so we didn't mind. After driving into town to visit the Turtle Farm and Seven Mile Beach area, my husband thanked me for choosing this one. He is not a fan of crowded areas on vacation. We stayed in late May and basically had the whole complex to ourselves except for one other family that we would occasionally see on the beach. We love to snorkel and wanted to stay somewhere where we could walk right out and do so with our children safely. Every day and sometimes twice a day, we would walk (wear swim shoes or flip flops, it's rocky) down the beach (turn right when facing the beach) to the public beach with the restrooms(maybe 1/4 mile?) and swim out about 50 yards and snorkel to our hearts content back to the beach area in front of the condo. The current would gently guide us back to Rum Point so we didn't even have to kick with our fins much. We saw so many beautiful fish, a couple of nurse sharks, sting rays, some tiny squid, the largest parrotfish I've ever seen, even turtles on two occasions. My best memory was hearing my 9 year old make a noise through his snorkel and realize he's laughing with joy at all the cool fish he's seeing! Check out Testudo's Snorkel blog for more in depth info on this. We also booked a trip to Stingray City with the beach club charter next door which we loved as well. Picked us up at the end of the pier right in front of the condo. My kids enjoyed the pool area too. The last day, we even had a parrot land in the palm tree above the pool which was fun to see. If we ever decide to visit GC again, we would not hesitate to stay here.
We spent 7 relaxing days at Rum Point in this comfortable and beautifully decorated condo. Our mornings started with coffee and pancakes on the screened patio enjoying the glorious ocean view. Next was snorkeling just steps away from the front door. The condo is conveniently equipped with some snorkel equipment, beach towels, toys and floats so you don't have to worry about making room in your suitcase for these items. The condo has everything you could possibly need so we bought groceries and cooked and even barbequed everyday. We ate out a few times and highly recommend Vivine's Kitchen on east end. While we loved the beach at Rum Point we still explored other areas of the island. Smith's Cove was absolutely breathtaking! Seven Mile Beach was also wonderful. We have lovely photos from Stingray City, Starfish Beach, the Turtle Farm, Dolphin Encounter, and the Botanical Gardens. Each night Before bed we enjoyed stargazing on the beach. The night sky is so clear you can see can see the Milky Way and each night we saw from 6 to 12 shooting stars! This was truly a vacation to remember.
Our sincere thanks to you Mr. Boden for sharing your lovely condo with us. We are already checking our calendar for next year as we would dearly love to return for a longer stay.
The Munoz Family
This condo was perfect. Just as advertised, and more. Great location, great views, ample kitchen supplies, water toys, comfortable beds and couches, washer and drier allowed for packing less, I could go on. We really enjoyed rolling the charcoal grills out on the beach and watching the sunset while having dinner and drinks. Rum Point was so nice, relaxing, laid back, and beautiful. If you want nighlife, this place might not be for you. If you want to relax, let your kids run around and swim, snorkel probably 100 steps from the condo, swim with Stingray's right in front of the condo(you must also do Stingray City), and be very comfortable for a fair price, this place is for you. The owner and onsite management were very helpful. Would love to go back, but there are alot of places on the list to see in the Caribbean. If we do, we will be staying here for sure!
We just returned home from 10 wonderful days at Tranquility at It's Best and enjoyed every minute! From the nicely decorated and well appointed interior to the beautiful view from the living room and balcony. The beds were very comfortable which was a plus. I had asked the owner before our trip if the condo was equipped with any pool or beach floats. They didn't have them so he generously purchased noodles and inflatable floats and had them waiting for us upon our arrival.
The Retreat is next door to the Rum Point Club which offers daytime and evening meals just off the beach. We enjoyed being so close to a place to dine as well as the Kaibo Club which is just a short distance away.
The pier is also very close and enjoyed going there during the night to watch the fish and the moonlight reflect on the water. During the day, we could lounge on the beach or walk out to the deeper waters which were always many beautiful hues of blue.
Staying at Tranquility at It's Best has been one of the most relaxing and fun vacations we have had. We can truly recommend it to anyone!
Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. This was our 3rd visit to Grand Cayman and we had a great time. Your condo was perfect. It had everything we needed. We love Rum Point and enjoyed being right there on the beach. Looking forward to our next trip.
