It's 5 o'clock here!

Relax, unwind and get away to this beautiful setting on scenic Lake Keowee! This spacious home is in a quiet, established neighborhood convenient to Lake Keowee Marina, The Tiki Hut, grocery stores, shopping, Clemson University, golf courses and many other attractions. You will feel secluded, away from the cares, worries, and hustle and bustle of everyday life, but you will be only five minutes away from conveniences and attractions. Stop by the Lake Keowee Marina where you can rent a variety of water sports equipment and visit the Tiki Hut next door to eat, party, sing karaoke or enjoy friendly neighbors. You will be only 7 miles from Clemson University. This is a great house to rent if you want to attend Clemson events! The lovely small town of Seneca, SC is only minutes away and offers gift shops and dining.

Of course, Lake Keowee is the main attraction here. The house overlooks a scenic cove which offers beauty and serenity and is only a 2-minute boat ride to the main part of the lake. The Lake Keowee Marina has a boat launch and also rents pontoon boats. The marina is only 5 minutes away from the house by car or boat and the cruise from the lake house to the Marina is the perfect place to see a beautiful lake sunset. The lake is surrounded by beautiful homes and natural woodlands with the mountains of North and South Carolina visible in the distance. The lake is beautiful in all seasons of the year. A map of the lake is available for viewing in the house and are available for purchase at the marina. Because the lake is oriented in a north-south direction with coves off to the east and west, it is quite easy to navigate.

This is a wonderful home in which to enjoy the lake, family, and friends. From the moment you enter this spacious 4,000 square-foot house, you will be surrounded by relaxing beauty both inside and out. There is a beautiful rock path leading to a new, double-slip dock. The lot is landscaped with mature native and imported trees and shrubs which are enjoyed by squirrels and a variety of birds.

The warm, welcoming feeling you experience upon entering the front door will follow you through the house. The living room and rock fireplace create a relaxing environment year round. The incredible screened-in porch invites you to enjoy nature, a gorgeous view of the lake and comfortable furniture from a local artist under a cooling fan. You can rock away the hours on the glider on one of the decks or the patio porch swing. You can read a good book in an overstuffed chair in the library which overlooks the lake. You can soak away stress in the master suite Jacuzzi tub or simply enjoy a good night's sleep on a pillow-top mattress that surrounds you with comfort. The fully-equipped kitchen is a welcoming space; practical, comfortable, with every amenity, and opens to the living room and dining room for ease of conversation and functionality. The den downstairs offers a large gathering space for games and entertainment with a gas fireplace, a 52' flat-panel HDTV and a Wii.

You will feel so relaxed and welcome in every room and space in this home you will not want to leave and will definitely want to come back!

It's 5 o'clock here so relax and enjoy!

About Kellye

The owner of this lovely property is KKM Properties, LLC. The owners of KKM Properties, LLC are Kellye and Michael Ratcliff and Kellye's sister, Karen Smith. Kellye and Michael live in Simpsonville, SC and own their own business, and Karen is a Cardiologist in North Carolina. All grew up in western North Carolina and still have family there.

Kellye purchased this house in 2009

Why Kellye chose Seneca

A love for the mountains, the lake, being together with family, creature comforts and entertaining, as well as an appreciation for the beauty of nature prompted our interest in buying the house at Lake Keowee. It is located in close proximity to Kellye and Michael's home in Simpsonville which makes it convenient for them to enjoy the house frequently and to ensure that it is well-maintained. Lake Keowee is a beautiful lake with a nice marina. While there are many residents, it is not overly populated or crowded. Some other SC lakes have endured problems with low water levels in recent years, but this has not been the case with Lake Keowee. It is owned and well-maintained by Duke Power. The location is also convenient to Clemson University, the mountains of NC, small picturesque towns and larger cities such as Greenville, Charlotte and Atlanta. Terrific location for Clemson home football games!

What makes this house unique

Lake Keowee itself is, of course, the main attraction. We enjoy the lake-front location of the house and the new two-slip covered boat dock. The house is in a quiet cove at the southern end of the lake in a lovely neighborhood. The yard is beautifully landscaped. The location in the cove provides privacy and peace, but allows easy access to the main portion of the lake and to the marina. Available activities include boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, jet skiing, water skiing, sailing, and swimming, hiking, biking, and picnicking. We also enjoy the close proximity to Seneca, Easly, and Clemson which provide shopping, golf, restaurants, antiquing, sightseeing, movies, miniature golf, and Clemson University sports.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Great lake house! The most comfortable and best appointed rental we have ever stayed in. On a peaceful cove. The most glorious sunsets we have ever seen. Looking forward to our next trip to 5 o'clock somewhere!

Wonderful Annual Trip!

  • 5 of 5

This is our third year celebrating Memorial Day weekend at this beautiful lake house. Although it was just three couples this year (yay!), the house is so spacious that it easily and comfortably accommodates us all when we bring along the five kids. The home is extremely clean and very well-stocked with anything you could need for a great vacation. The convenience to the marina for boat and jet ski rentals (and Tiki Hut) and to grocery stores is fantastic. Although the oven is somewhat outdated, small, and doesn't cook evenly, we finally figured out how to cook in it without burning the bottoms of things like biscuits and cookies. Kellye was a pleasure to work with as always, and we are already looking forward to returning again next year.

Beautiful view and perfect location in quiet cove!

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoy our stay on Lake Keowee at this gorgeous home! :) The view is spectacular and we feel hands down this is the most beautiful lake in the country. The home is perfect for a careless vacation, anything and everything you need is there (from a stocked up closet of games for the family to any kitchen appliance you would ever need). There is room for many guests and the accommodations are perfect whether you have 4 guests or 8 guests. We love this house and the location on the lake is amazing. It's so nice and relaxing to hang out on the dock and take in the view of the lake in the quiet cove it is located in. We plan on returning here every's a must for our family's vacation destinations! Thank you!

Excellent lake rental!

  • 5 of 5

This home is exactly what we were looking for.

2 hours from midtown Atlanta. Very close to downtown Seneca so Home Depot, Ingles, and restaurants all within 5 minute drive.

House is very comfortable. Large master with huge bathroom and comfy bed and two other bedrooms on the main level. Kitchen had all the amenities. WONDERFUL screened porch overlooking the lake and a six burner grill.

Basement is HUGE. Large TV with Wii and other games. They have dozens and dozens or board games as well so you don't have to pack a thing for the kids. Another nice bedroom and 1.5 bath in the basement.

But hte reason to rent this house is the lake! They have a new dock (no splinters!) on a quiet side of the lake. If you're like us you rent a boat and the marina is a five minute drive and five minute boat ride from the house. It makes it so easy. But the best part is the little beach they have. It apparently can go away with the tides but when we stayed it was awesome. 10 feet of sand and a slope into the water with no seaweed. Made our trip.

Rental agency was very easy to deal with. We had a power outage while we were there and they were very responsive (nothing wrong with the house, just the area went out for an hour). They let us on an exception have a late checkout which was nice.

I'd highly recommend this rental -- it's great!

Owner's Response: Chris, Thank you so much for the kind and detailed review. We are so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay. As owners we paid careful attention to the details so that our guests would have what they needed to prepare meals, entertain themselves and children (even during a rain shower, hence the games) and just relax! I also appreciate you patience with the city-wide power outage. I'm glad it was short lived and that the late check out was helpful and available. We hope you will visit again. Kellye

Hidden Jewel! I had looked at this property for a few years but it was never available.

  • 5 of 5

I rented this house for July 4th family reunion. My son, his wife and two children stayed in the house with me and family from all over visited during the day. My son brought his boat so there were excursions out over beautiful Lake Keowee (the best being the night of the Fourth with fireworks from at least two Seneca locations plus Clemson and Walhalla). We had day trips to Chattooga Belle Farm (for a good lunch with Blue today Ridge Mountains views and blueberry picking afterwards) and to Clemson's Botanical Gardens and Campbell Gem Museum. The property that I rened from Kellye was my family's ' favorite of the ones I have rented over five years. The landscaping is lovely and the house so pleasant in it's furnishings and design. The kitchen was well equipped and big enough for two or more to prepare meals. The beds were comfortable , the dining table held twelve if we put two on each end, the slope to the dock is easy, the cove is deep water with some sand beach, and the whole place is very secluded and quiet except for the occasional boat (and, jet ski). Two grocery stores, a marina and restaurants and filling stations five minutes away but you would never know it. The most important reason I rented this house was the wonderful screen porch where we spent most of our time even when it was hot!
