The home is a uniquely private and seductive property. Located in Germantown, MD. It's designed as a concierge style quasi resort, hidden away just minutes from one of the fastest growing metropolitan suburbs of Washington DC. The property is a 7,500 sq ft estate sitting on 5 acers of green land with vista views that extend across a valley to the horizon.
The home can be used as a destination event property capable of servicing daily, weekly and longer-term rental accommodations.

The property is a hosted rental, equipped with two commercial grade kitchens capable of servicing events that include anything from wedding parties to corporate retreats as well as a weekend getaway.

POOL:

The pool is closed during the winter. Please ask the host if the pool is available before assuming it is open for the summer season.

Peaceful Gem

Host was amazing to work with, great communication since a week prior to our arrival. Was very attentive and made our stay great. Kids loved the pool and unit is very spacious so they loved they had their own section where they had privacy! Definitely recommend.

Family fun

We have stayed here before and it never disappoints. Our host is available to offer help with any questions we had. The apartment is spacious, clean and perfect for our family’s needs. The pool was lovely. The tiki bar was perfect for having our meals.We couldn’t have asked for a better fit for our family. Alll the amenities, checkin, check out were exactly as listed. Brian was wonderful and incredibly attentive. He was also very accommodating last minute regarding our reservation. Excellent price for what the space was. We stayed in the pool level guest suite. Plenty of space, and wonderful back yard access. Collectively our party would mention that the space was not built recently as advertised - with the home showing a bit of wear and tear. We enjoyed our stay and would book again if the opportunity arises.

Spectacular Stay

A beautiful house and location. We spent 10 days visiting family and friends in the area over the holidays. Brian was a more than considerate and accommodating host. Friendly and available for anything we might need. We had our dog with us and he enjoyed a huge fenced yard for daily romps. A bonus was watching the deer in the back. Even lucky enough a couple of mornings to see fox playing off in the distance. We will definitely stay again!!

very nice estate

beautiful landscape and outdoor area..house definitely in need of some repair mostly the outside stairs..falling apart. very misleading as to not getting the house but a first floor section but otherwise was a nice place to stay..the owner lives on the third floor also

Retreat for a Memorable Celebration

We celebrated my friend’s birthday party and hosted her family from out of town at The Retreat at Davis Mill. The home situated on 5 acres of lush grounds, provided the perfect setting for our gathering. The fully fenced-in yard was a highlight, allowing our dogs to run and play safely while everyone relaxed and enjoyed the festivities. For the birthday party, we hired a bartender. The tiki bar was a fantastic addition, and the guests and furry friends enjoyed the pool. The property’s blend of privacy, and amenities made it a memorable experience for everyone involved. We highly recommend this estate for any occasion where you want to combine relaxation, fun, and comfort in a stunning setting.

Family DC Vacation

Our family of 4 (myself, hubby, and two teen boys) took a week long trip to DC, and rather than staying in a tight hotel we were fortunate to find this hidden gem! Being from Wisconsin we appreciated the rural feel of this resort! We spent most of our days in downtown DC, so we only got to experience the pool a couple times. It was great having a full kitchen, a place for each person to sleep and two bathrooms. After a long day in the hot sun it was nice to relax for a couple hours in the comfot of a "home" space! Brian was very accomodating and answered every question we had (which we had a LOT since this was our first VRBO booking ever). Would highly recommend this resort for a family getting away for a long stay in DC area that wants comforts of home!

Just what we needed

This property was just what we needed - transitional housing near spouses place of employment - while waiting to close on a property for the 91 year old FIL. This ground level space was well-appointed and suited our needs perfectly. Brian our host was super attentive, responsive and kind. Allowing our 4 year old cat to join us was a B-I-G bonus. We navigated the entrance and exit carefully (there is a grass incline) with the FIL and the really nice Fall weather was on our side to do this. Views of the pool and land were spectacular. Had it been summer I may not have left the pool except to feed the cat. If we have a need for this type of space in this area in the future Brian is our first call. Enjoy the Davis Mill Retreat

Best place we could have chose

We were gone most of the day and would leave early and returned late, so it was a very good stay for us. But after staying here I want to bring my friends and or family back just to enjoy the extras that we were too tired to enjoy. The house is beautiful. It’s a hosted stay but you wouldn’t even know the owner is around. You have an entire floor to yourself with tons of room, more room than most people’s houses. The owner is extremely nice and very helpful. The views are great. Super close to pretty much everything. And it’s quiet and peaceful at the same time. I hope to come back and stay when we can use the pool and outdoor bar and have more time to hang out because it would get a 6 star review with all of that combined! Thank you for everything.

Dustin and his crew were some of the most respectful young men I've had the pleasure of encountering. Especially, in these days. Dustin, had just recently been promoted to Lieutenant in the Baltimore City Fire Department. We'd like to join his family, friends and the City of Baltimore in congratulating him on his honorable accomplishment. From what I understand, himself and his crew of 4 or 5, used the Retreat as ground 0 for their hunting party in the Appalachian mountains. Each arrived in their own pick up truck as a squad, all seemingly loaded with hunting, camping, and first responder equipment. Although brief, they were the most respectful group of young men I've had the pleasure of meeting in recent times. They were quite, respectful, and willfully adhered to all the rules of the house. They arrived after dark and left at 5:00 am on the mark every morning of their stay. The only thing I could complain about was the delicious aroma of the crock pot that permeated the house and kept me hungry all day long. And, I'm trying to drop some pondage. LOL. They were great and I would like to have a chance to host them and their families in the future. Thanks guys, and thank you for choosing the Retreat for your Stay. Dishonest Listing

My family reserved this property to host our rehearsal dinner and bridal party for the weekend of my wedding. From the initial booking, we were led to believe we’d have full private access to the house and grounds. However, upon arrival, we discovered that the host lived on the property (which is against Vrbo’s policy), and we were restricted to the basement of the three-story home. We had no access to the advertised master kitchen and living spaces until our event. Although there is a “private area,” there is no true privacy during the stay. Despite the host’s good intentions, their frequent check-ins made the experience uncomfortable. While the host was friendly, they were ultimately dishonest about the setup of the listing. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this property based on the misleading information and lack of privacy. This is by far the most deceptive listing I’ve encountered on Vrbo or Airbnb.

Gorgeous & Peaceful Place

I must say how terrific this spot turned out to be for cooking & enjoying Thanksgiving with my extended family ranging from 3 to 93 in age! It was tricky figuring out how to accommodate all needs for everyone, but the property host Brian made it a lot easier. Brian recently renovated parts of this estate, so any little kinks we ran into he handled & fixed immediately. He also provided everything we needed for cooking, including a roasting pan big enough for a 20 lb. turkey & a beautiful table setting. Even a tea kettle appeared when my Brother asked if there was one available! We all could not have had a better holiday. I happily highly recommend this place. Thank You Brian!

We could not have asked for better accommodations for the price - spacious, well-lit, comfortable with a wonderful host.
