The host was helpful and quick to reply when we had questions. Unfortunately, we could not stay at the property. We arrived around midnight, but still elected to drive a half hour to find a hotel. There was no outdoor lighting, no discernible driveway, and no keys or key code to get in the house. The host had told us in advance that the back door had no lock. I don't regard our family has picky when it comes to cleanliness (we grew up in and around farms), but when you pay this amount of money you expect it to be very clean. The odor in the house was pungent with mold and mildew. There were bugs and flies everywhere. The walls, carpets and bathroom looked like they had not been cleaned in many months. The toilet had been used and not flushed. I trust the host when she mentioned that the house is scheduled to have a cleaning service and a deep cleaning between guests, but no cleaning took place before we arrived. Very unfortunate. We loved the setting and the quaintness of the house, but we could not get past the unclean and terrible odor conditions.

The house most definitely cleaned beforehand as we have a professional service come in between every guest, upon walking the property the day after you left with my cleaners we found that the house had been cleaned there was no bugs or flies anywhere although being on a farm you will get those, the toilet was cleaned and just the way it was upon pre arrival walkthrough, the beds had most definitely been used though which was not the case prior to your arrival. I do apologize for not having left the outside light on, which typically we do but we must have forgotten, the parking is quite distinctive as there are two gravel driveways on either side of the house. Additionally as you were notified beforehand both front doors do have locks the back door is original to a 100 yr old house and does not have a lock.

The only affordable option - It was perfect for our eclipse trip. Everything went smoothly. Nice people. Fun stay.
