Thanks so much Amy, we are happy you enjoyed the stay! We have stayed at other places that didn't provide anything so we make a point to include as much as possible for your stay. Next time if you need anything in particular we can try to arrange it for you, keep us in mind next time you return to Vermont!
Great property which was perfect for a weekend getaway. Beds were extremely comfortable, looked like updated bathrooms upstairs and downstairs and new kitchen appliances like the fridge.
Large, beautiful Victorian house. Anything you could possibly want was there - all kitchen appliances (blender, coffee grinder, microwave, etc. etc.), 6-burner stove. High-quality hand soaps, thick towels, blow-dryer, washer/dryer, iron and board. Given that the neighbors were in a beautiful old cemetery, the neighborhood was extremely quiet, and just a couple blocks from the center of the small town. The host was quick to communicate and 100% pleasant. Should we be this way again, we'd be pleased to stay there again.

Thanks so much for noticing the little details! We try to provide the best experience possible.
While there are some things mentioned before that could be improved with new, this was a great stay for the price. The place was clean and well kept. A good value with plenty of space for us in between the basketball tournament games. We’d definitely stay here again next time.

There was lots of space for our family to spread out! We found some neat local history only a few miles away. Excellent communication from the host!
This cottage had everything we needed for our overnight stay. It is well stocked with the basics.
The beds were very comfortable.
Our interactions with the owner were pleasent.
Thank you
This was our second time using the property. We had a large group of six visiting family in the area. The house was clean and inviting, same as the first time, and was a delightful stay again. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, Fairhaven is a beautiful town, and the owner continues to work on a beautify the property even more.

Short stay in Fair Haven
The house was big and comfortable, but it could have been cleaner, and it was obviously undergoing construction work. The light bulbs in one of the bedrooms burned out on the first day, the living room smelled musty, and there was pet hair on the sofas (one smelled so strongly we couldn't use it). The Wi-Fi was also poor, which was a shame because otherwise the house was nice and spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The directions provided by the host were confusing and led us to the wrong accommodation. Fortunately, it turned out to be a minor issue that we were able to resolve amicably with the neighbors and the host's indications.

Overnight stay
Indide was great . It was very clean and well kept. The outside needs some work. The porch light needs to be fixed and both screen doors need to tightened. They did have a light to see to get in in the evening which was very helpful since we were out past dark. The bed was very comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We liked the place it just needs a little outside care like I mentioned. We liked that it had all the appliances you would have at home. We would stay again if we were in the area. The host made a suggestion for a place to dine for breakfast and a cider donut place as well. All check in instructions were accurate and on point.
The location of the house was on a nice quiet street, but the owner of the rental house has a rooster that they house directly behind the rental property. It crows all the time during the day, but the worst part is that it starts around 5:30am and just keeps going off and on for the rest of the daylight hours. My husband has insomnia and so he was so overtired on our trip. It also woke my son up, too. The rooster crows repeatedly - not just one time, and not even the air conditioner can drown it out. I am not sure why this rooster is not noted in the listing as it completely changed what would have been a great experience. We specifically stay in air b&bs instead of hotels because noise bothers my husband and makes it hard or impossible for him to sleep. If we had been told there was a rooster that crows starting at 5:30 am, we would have booked a different property. So, although the house is nice, beware the rooster - he won't let you sleep in on your vacation!

Sorry you had a bad experience and this is already out dated as we no longer have any chickens or the rooster. You never mentioned this as a problem during your stay.

This property needs some attention/Know what to expect
I hate leaving bad reviews but I think it's important people know what to expect. This is definitely an older property in need of updating, and not a quiet one. The nearby train whistle went off starting at 6am, and the owners who live on the property have young active children. For some that might not be an issue, but there are definitely some things that should be addressed. The property was not thoroughly cleaned from the last visitor. Furniture including the bed in the main bedroom is very uncomfortable. The sofas in the living room are terrible - finding an inviting place to sit and read a book was impossible. There are no shades or blinds on the bedroom or bathroom windows. Clearly the noise is not something that can be changed, and the needed update would be expensive, but some of the other issues could certainly be addressed.

We are sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. For the property needing updating, it is clearly listed as a cottage in Vermont and the pictures show it has a mid-century vibe. We try to improve the cottage with each stay, thanks for your feedback. The furniture is newer (yes, couches are sleeper sofas so by default are firmer) and the mattress is a hybrid memory foam & spring which majority of reviews claim is wonderful. I have slept on very bad beds in airbnbs so I will have to disagree with you on this point. If my children riding their bikes on our side street bothered you (or anything else) you could have brought it up during your stay instead of afterwards, we could have accommodated your needs. We strive for everyone to enjoy their experience (we have many 5 star reviews), but obviously you can't please everyone.
We stayed at this property for one night with three adult children. Overall the place was neat and clean on the inside, and the price was right, but there were a few things that made me grateful we weren’t staying longer. The master bedroom has no door, and we weren’t able to open any of the upstairs windows. The shower also didn’t function (unless 5 adults completely overlooked something?) which wasn’t a pleasant surprise…There was a terrible odor in one of the bedroom closets that we quickly realized must be a dead animal in the wall. Obviously that isn’t the fault of the owner, but a heads-up not to open the closet (or some air freshener…or the ability to open the bedroom windows) would have been nice! That combined with a half-full trash bin in the kitchen makes me wonder how much attention the place gets between guests. The WiFi info that was sent to us was incorrect, and while the owner responded very quickly when I messaged him, the fact that the info hasn’t been updated in two years (my inference) also suggests there’s not a lot of attention paid to the property. As an aside, the listing says the place sleeps 10, and we cannot figure out how! There are two queen beds upstairs and two queen pullout sofas downstairs. There’s literally nowhere else to sleep, so that’s a puzzle! Again, it was clean enough and doable for a night, but we wouldn’t be in a hurry to return.
This vacation was beautiful and it all goes out to the host who also responded in a timely manner for being across seas. The house was beautiful location in a small town with a small walk to a park and shops. I want to be totally honest without putting the person that cleans the home down because it is a very large home but because of how beautiful the house is, I just thought that maybe whomever cleans could do a little bit better job by no means was it bad but maybe take a little extra to do some deep cleaning and saying that I speak of this because I used to also clean condos just noticed around the stove in the oven needed a little extra elbow grease the counter with the coffee pot in the air fryer. Maybe they need to move the things around and clean up under also, the house is huge just maybe a little extra clean by no means was it nasty? I just wanna be honest and there was only four bath towels. We did get two extra towels and left them there for the next special guests that rent this beautiful place and again the host was awesome. I definitely give it five stars all the way around.
