Beautifully renovated one bedroom/one bathroom oceanfront condo boasts unobstructed, 180 degree views of Lanai, Molokai and year round sunsets! Whether you spend the day exploring the island or leisurely lounging by the heated pool, this condo will be a welcoming respite for a peaceful night's rest. From the lanai, you can stare at the ocean, listen to the waves crash and watch the whales breach during the winter months. It is also the perfect spot to watch the green turtles swimming down below. This magnificent condo has a fully appointed kitchen for all your cooking and entertainment needs. The large bedroom features a very comfortable king size bed with a flat screen TV. The condo also features a flat screen TV in the living room and central air conditioning to keep you cool day and night. Free wi-fi and cable are included.

The Maui Kai Resort features a beautiful heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, free parking, gas barbecues, a poolside cabana with kitchen, laundry facilities, and much more. Maui Kai is steps from the water and a short walk on the Ka'anapali Beachwalk trail to many shops and restaurants. A grocery store is right across the street and there is a farmer's market within walking distance. Whaler's Village and Kapalua Golf Course and Bay are just a short drive away.

Lovely condo over the ocean

We had a lovely stay. The condo is a bit dated, but clean and comfortable overall. The lanai over the ocean was the highlight of the condo, and it was well stocked with beach towels and chairs. The location was ideal, close to restaurants and shopping, and the small beach rhat adjoins the property was lovely. It seems to be secluded enough, that there were very few others using it. Overall, a wonderful stay.

Great location and view!

Overall a great place. We absolutely loved the view, the crashing waves and the sunsets. The location was great for everything we wanted to do. The beach right next door was perfect, felt very private. It was the perfect space for 2. Needs a deep clean, to at least hide the roach traps, and a better shower head/water pressure. Either way, for the price, would stay again for sure.

Condo needs maintenance

View is awesome but the appliances need maintenance or should be replaced. Our dishwasher did not work the entire stay and they finally came to work on it as we checked out. The shower head has a very bad leak and they never came to fix it. Another review over a month ago listed the leak in the shower also. The electric stove burners are all tilted and hard to cook on.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very outdated compared to what pictures show! The overpowering carpet mold smell alone should have this place removed from vacation rental sites but there’s plenty more wrong here - the shower water drips non-stop, air conditioner makes such a horrible noise in the bedroom that it was hard to get to sleep. Shower door took 5-10 minutes to pry open. Coffee pot so ancient, stained and a total fire hazard. Patio furniture padding so old that the ties no longer hold it on, so it slides when sitting. It’s just really unacceptable for a place that wants $600+ per night average...robbery! Upon check in I tried to call for a refund and of course they aren’t accepting phone calls.

Beautiful View

The view n closeness to water was amazing! We loved sitting on the balcony and watching the sea turtles, boats, and snorkelers. The sound of the waves crashing below was very relaxing. The condo pool was perfect for us and pool house was great! The area had a grocery store and food places a short walk. Right next to the entrance was where you could catch the boardwalk to Dukes, Whalers Villages, etc. The condo was clean, decorated nicely and good size. Air conditioning was great! We had a great visit and were very happy with our choice.

Disappointed

We walked in and my wife detected an odor- like wet dog. Carpet was stiff. After a short while her eyes starting watering, getting red and puffy and her throat started to get scratchy. Opened all the windows. Then noticed the sun shade for the Lani was missing. So couldn't use it too hot in direct sun. Went to put away groceries and the handle to the fridge was broken. There wasn't much if any open storage space - lot's of old paint cans in different storage locations. In the bathroom something black on floor around base of shower. Called the rental company to inform them of issues and that we could not stay. Response was they couldn't do anything as they close at 5pm. You can't check in till 4 pm so really no time allowed to find or resolve any issues. We left the unit for several hours. While gone my wife's eyes and throat got better. We left the windows open to air out. When we returned her eyes and throat were again affected. So we let the company know, packed our bags and left. The next morning I got a message from company saying they hoped I enjoyed my stay. Followed by a message their property manager went by and did not detect an odor. I let them know I wasn't surprised as not everybody has the same sensitivities. No more action or response from the agency. They acted like we never left with follow up messages about checkout procedures etc. Should have been obvious to property manager nobody was there or stayed there. I am now skeptical on using VRBO.

WONDERFUL - loved our stay ! !

We greatly enjoyed our stay here. In terms of location, for us it was an ideal mix of being slightly off the beaten path from the resorts just south in K’annapali, but close enough that we could get food there and enjoy the more active vibe and also get to Lahaina easily, which we did several times. At the condo building there was a nice, small, quiet beach on one side and then a larger wider beach on the other, in front of a large resort building. There was a good-sized heated pool and hot tub for condo building use only, which was quiet and featured many lounge chairs. The view from the 8th floor balcony was spectacular. Awesome sunsets, great view of Lana’i and Moloka’i, and we saw a number of whales in the distance as well as had the chance to watch the surfers. The place is literally right on the water, it almost feels like you’re on a cruise ship. Some people here have commented to the effect that the condo is somewhat outdated. We did not find that to be the case. Yes, there is carpeting (but it is in great shape) and maybe the bathroom isn’t 100 percent modern with granite vanity tops and fancy faucets. But it was perfectly adequate and clean. And, really, shouldn’t you be staring at the incredible view of the ocean rather than the tile in the bathroom? Additionally, we were in Hawaii for 2 weeks so the ability to do our laundry was a key must have for us. It should be noted that the coin op ($1.75 in quarters; change machine in pool area if needed) is on the same floor as the condo. We were so happy that it was so convenient to use! It was out the condo front door and just a few steps down the hallway. There are several floors with laundry like the 8th floor, so we never felt that we were vying for laundry time. A huge plus for us. Also, we appreciated the thoughtful gifts of bottled water and Hawaiian treats when we arrived. One word of caution: at least for our stay, the wifi was not something that would support a virtual working situation. We were fairly “checked out” on our vacation but, from our experience, if we had to combine any substantial amount of work with our play it would not have been feasible. We would highly recommend this cozy, clean, well-appointed condo and would rent it again if we return to Maui.

It was absolutely lovely!

The location was fabulous (a short walk to Dukes and food trucks) close to grocery shopping. The view was spectacular! We would sit on the balcony and watch whales and turtles for hours! I would absolutely stay here again.

Not exactly as advertised in photo

The view is amazing. However, the property is very dated and the photos are misleading. Old appliances, bathroom is small and the tiles are broken, old carpet is dirt and dingy. We also had several pests which we had to spray to get rid of, but they let coming back. I would not stay there again.

Beautiful vacation

The views were amazing. Nkt the mist comfortable bed, but wasn’t tidally awful either. Wish it was a little more cushy since I tend to have pain issues. Property was small, but more personal not overrun with tons of people. Gray location! Loved our stay. Want to go back

Perfect spot! Great Location! Everything you need!

The property was perfect for us. It was clean, well maintained and had all the amenities listed and exactly what we needed. The view was amazing and the location was great! It was right next to a beach that was used primarily by the other resorts and condos, so there was no real public access which made it a much quieter and a less crowded beach. Within a 5 minute walk you could get to the grocery store, some great places to eat and a row of food trucks. Whalers village is about a 5 minute drive away. The check in and check out process was extremely easy and pleasant. We're so happy we found this place because it made our trip so much better and relaxing.

Best Lanai view!

We rented this property because of the view and it did not disappoint. The property comes with everything you'll need during your stay. Walking distance to beach and food trucks. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic apartment looking out on the water!

Amazing Views

The property was amazing! There were water supplies (chairs, snorkel gear, etc) plus binoculars and plenty of space. The property is located right next to a nice beach and the views from the unit are spectacular. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Great place!!
