Life Off The Leash is located in First Flight Ridge, a very quiet, private Sound-side caul-de-sac in a gated community at MM 4.5 a short walk from the Currituck Sound and 2,000 ft from the ocean.

Catch a gorgeous sunrise over the Atlantic from our top deck and then go for a run or bike ride on the Wright Brothers Multi Use Path that runs along the Sound. Afterwards, prepare a gourmet breakfast in our chef's kitchen with plenty of seating for everyone.

Not in the mood for the beach? Load up your stand-up-paddle board or kayak and head over to your Sound-side community pier for a calm-water paddle.

After a day at the beach relax, drink in hand, in your private salt-water pool or somewhere on the 1,000 square feet of deck space. Let the kids play water volleyball or basketball or pedal their bikes around the quiet neighborhood.

Throw some surf 'n turf on the grill, grab a beverage, and head up to the deck to catch the sunset view over Albermarle Sound. Life Off The Leash sits higher than most homes in our community, so the views are wonderful.

Don't forget to look south where you'll see the Wright Brothers Monument 4 miles away!

If you don't feel like cooking, family friendly Barefoot Bernie's Bar and Grill (https://www.barefootbernies.com) is right at the entrance to the community. A little further down the street is Trio Wine Bar (http://obxtrio.com). Both are an easy walk.

After dinner come home and enjoy a fire in the fire pit while you relax and enjoy Life Off The Leash.

3rd floor - living room, loft with desk, kitchen.

Kitchen - Microwave, Keurig, drip coffee maker, 6 burner gas stove with built in griddle, double oven, beverage refrigerator, dishwasher

2nd floor - master bedroom (king bed, TV, private bath with soaking tub and walk-in shower, deck access), bunk room (twin over full, tv), king bedroom (tv), shared full bathroom, and laundry room.

1st floor - queen bedroom (private bath that's also accessible from the common room, tv) common room (foosball table, tv), sofa bed.

Private fenced salt water pool 4/15 - 10/15 (heat available for $150 per week prorated for shorter stays)
with volleyball and basketball nets. Maximum depth is 4 feet.

Be sure to leave the door from the garage into the house unlocked and lock the electric keypad when you leave

We had a fantastic stay and truly can’t recommend this property enough! From the stylish decor and spotless cleanliness to the wide range of activities available, everything exceeded our expectations. The location was incredibly convenient—just a short drive to the beach, making it easy to pop over whenever the sun was out. Having the pool to enjoy after the beach every day was amazing.Even on the days when the weather didn’t cooperate, we had plenty to do thanks to all the games and entertainment options at the house, which kept everyone busy and happy.Kristen and Carter were wonderful hosts—very responsive and helpful throughout our stay.

Don’t ask questions, just book the house! My family and I had an awesome stay. The house was clean, very well decorated and cozy. I loved that they already had a high chair, pack n play and kid plates and utensils there. Really helped with our over packed car. We will definitely be staying with them again!

4th of July Holiday

Beautiful, spacious, well maintained home. Plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms for the eight in our family. Super nice kitchen. The pool is great and provided hours of entertainment for the four kids (ages 9 to 18) and four adults. Good location for all OBX activities including beaches, restaurants, and shopping. We had a very enjoyable stay! Owner is kind, helpful, and cordial.

Family OBX Trip a success

Our family and college friends and their children had a great time at this property. The views of the sunset were awesome from the roof deck and all of the amenities around the house were great. We had one small issue with missing linens/bathmats during our trip that was resolved quickly by the host. Thanks to Carter and Kristen for sharing their home with us.

A great stay! Our group included four teenage boys (12-16) and 4 adults including an octogenarian. There was something for everyone - we enjoyed the pool every day, kayaking on the sound, ping-pong, hoops, stargazing, and just relaxing on the wraparound decks. Kitchen is large and well-equipped and everything was sparkling clean. Definitely a '10'.

Amazing home, fantastic vacation!

This rental was stunning! The house was clean, beautifully decorated, and came with everything we needed/could want to enjoy our OBX vacation. The property was very well taken care of, amenities were top notch, and the hosts were outstanding to work with. The pool/yard was fabulous for kids of all ages. There was plenty of space inside and out for everyone to relax after long, sunny days at the beach. One week wasn’t enough time for our family of six to enjoy everything Life Off The Leash had to offer. 10/10 would recommend!

Our stay at Life Off The Leash was absolutely wonderful! The house is absolutely gorgeous and looks just like the pictures. It was very clean! Carter was absolutely wonderful with communication and answered all questions we had while we were there. The pool and views were great. Quiet community! Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!

From the moment we booked this home, we have had nothing short of great communication with Carter and Kristen. They made the check in/check out process very easy, and were in contact during the week to ensure we were having a great stay and always responded promptly to any questions we asked. Their home is beautifully decorated and in a fabulous location close to lots of beaches, shopping, ice cream places, mini-golf spots and even escape rooms. The house is filled with just about anything you could ever need (and more!) and was perfect for our family of 6 (including an infant.) I have already recommended staying at Life Off The Leash to many of our friends looking to stay in OBX!

Better than you could imagine

The house is spacious, beautifully decorated, and meticulously maintained. The elevator is perfect for guests in a wheelchair or for bringing up a large load of groceries. The home has everything you could need, from a fully stocked kitchen to plenty of extras for fun and comfort. The owners have truly thought of everything, including a fridge in the garage to keep your poolside drinks cold and two different coffee machines to suit everyone’s preferences.For fun, there’s ping pong, a foosball table, life jackets, pool floats, and even cornhole boards—though fair warning, they’re Chicago Bears boards (don’t worry, you can still win even if the Bears can’t!).The location is ideal, close to many restaurants, including two that are an easy walk away. The outdoor decks reach up to a third-floor crow’s nest, offering the best views in the development. The owners are extremely responsive and wonderful to work with.If you’re planning an OBX vacation, this is a must-stay!

We've been coming to the OBX for over 40 years, and our time at this stunning home was the best family vacation ever. It was seamless from beginning to end. Our spectacular hosts replied to every message quickly and provided everything a family would need for a beach vacation, including luscious beach towels. The gated community was perfect for our three grandchildren under three. We took walks, they rode their balance bikes, and going to the beach in the early morning hours was the perfect way to begin the day. Most of our time was spent in the pool! We all agreed that this home offered so many quiet spots to be: the hammock swing off the Master, the sunset-facing balcony porch, the huge windows that afforded watching oncoming storms in safety. With small children, we used the fully-stocked kitchen for every meal. The hosts even provided a "kettle" for our Belgium-based oldest daughter and family. The huge dining table was the hub of meals and games and afforded us such a peaceful place to "sobremesa" and reconnect. I can't say enough good things about this immaculate, beautifully decorated, and very clean home. The saddest part was leaving! We will be back!

Beautiful Beach Property with everything you need!

The Benes’s were amazing hosts! Very responsive before our stay and during our stay. The house was very clean and updated. They also provided the basics for us (hand soaps, dish soaps, dishwasher pods, few trash bags, laundry pods, TP, paper towels, etc) so that we didn’t have to rush off to the store right away. The house was also stocked with tons of beach chairs, beach towels, umbrellas, toys, etc all of our use! The neighborhood was so quiet and close to everything, we felt so safe here. We found multiple public beach access points a short drive away. Most beach houses you rent come BARE with buy or bring everything with you vibes but not when you stay here! The house came with so much already I wish we had packed less!! Thank you so much to the Benes family for making our beach vacation so spectacular! We hope to be back again in the future 😊

Our stay at Life Off The Leash

Our stay at this beach house was wonderful. From the time we got there to the time we left the owners were there every step of the way with any questions that we had. There was a book there that listed places to see and eat, if you have never been to the area. The house was beautiful and very clean. The huge pool was wonderful for the kids. I could not have asked for a better place to stay. You can drive or walk to the beach. We did both. The walk was about 15 minutes, not bad at all. The house is a 5-minute walk to ice cream shops, restaurants, etc. It is the perfect place to go to get away and has plenty of room. You can ride bikes down to the shops or around the neighborhood. It was very relaxing. Golfing, go kart racing and ziplining are right down the street. There is also a theatre to go to during a rainy day. The aquarium is only a 30-minute ride down in Manteo. There is also a water slide park 20 minutes down the road as well. The bay is the other direction and walking distance as well. It is by far the best vacation rental ever. It is the perfect distance to everything. Thank you for letting us stay at your beach house.

This house had everything you need for a great vacation! So many fun games and toys for the house and pool. We highly recommend this house and its location. We were able to walk to restaurants and there were so many shops and groceries that were right around the corner. There’s a walking/biking trail that was 1/2 mile away that went on forever-we loved using that trail every morning! Thank you for a beautiful home!
