The Copper Squirrel is very well equipped with excellent kitchen facilities, a luxurious shower, and a comfortable king size bed. Its only heat source is its wood stove, but the stove kept us very warm in late September. The cabin is located several miles from Bayfield, but the drive is an easy one.

The cabin was very nice and clean, and the owner was very easy to get in contact with and was accommodating. The only heat source in the cabin is a wood burning fireplace, so our stay (early November) was fairly cold throughout (pack a sweater!). The cabin has a number of large windows with no blinds or curtains, including in the bathroom. They are facing the woods on the property, but still, the lack of curtains or blinds throughout make privacy feel a bit lacking. But overall, a great stay!

This cabin is a real gem. So close to Bayfield yet in the woods so you have complete privacy. We decided on this trip to celebrate our 40th anniversary and the cabin was the icing on the cake. It was great to relax by the campfire and watch the otters swimming in the pond. The interior of the cabin was neat as a pin and had all the modern amenties. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!

The cabin was so cute and inviting!! Rustic on the outside but very updated and cozy on the inside. Perfect! So much so I didn't want to leave!!

Gorgeous cabin in the Northwoods, with all the comforts of home. We loved the screened porch for the warm afternoons and appreciated the wood stove for cozy nights.

Super cute and cozy cabin. Great base camp for waterfall explorations. Kristin was great to work with and even made sure the woodstove was blazing for our arrival. I also loved all the handmade pottery decorating the space. It was too chilly to be outside much but we did see the turtles and had a greeting from a barred owl one evening.

Kristin is an amazing host! We are returning guests and loved our stay this time as much as our last time! It’s a cozy cabin with every amenity you could need. We love the location and it’s close to the shops and restaurants we like to visit. We will definitely be returning to this lovely home!

This lovely cabin is set in a beautiful yard area with a pond and wildlife. Kitchen is fully equipped with smart appliances. Bed is very comfortable. Bring water shoes for the shower. Wood stove is your heat for this cute getaway. Very quiet neighborhood pretty close to town of Bayfield.
Black bear out our window. Windows do not have curtains, so the beauty of the outdoors is available from all angles.

We had the BEST time at The Copper Squirrel. The property is so much more beautiful and peaceful than the photos can even capture. Host was helpful and responsive. Our stay felt like a true retreat. We will definitely come back.

The cabin was super cozy and perfect for our small family of three plus a pup. It has everything you need stocked and thoughtfully curated for guest comfort. The bed is very comfortable & the appliances, kitchen, and bathroom are modern - but the cabin itself still feels rustic and cute. The pond and onsite private trails were great for exploring and watching nature. We saw lots of turtles, an owl, and little woodland creatures. Bayfield is super easy and quick to get to. Kristin is very responsive and helpful for check in and anything needed. We plan to return!

Everything was amazing. The host gave us great travel and food references. The cabin is only a short drive to Bayfield and the ferry to Madeline Island. The cabin was a perfect central location for us to drive to our different hikes in the area we had picked out prematurely. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Our standard poodle, Lucy, absolutely loved the property, the pond, the woods, the bed! Everything was immaculate, and all the little things we didn't think of as first time renters, Kristin did! She was awesome! From detailed directions for the wood furnace to the little book light on the side table, to the pile of books. It was all there to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. We hope to be back!

Cozy and amazing cabin!We absolutely loved staying at this wonderful cabin in the woods! It was very relaxing and exactly where we needed to be. Kristin does a beautiful job decorating and is in tune with having everything that was needed for our stay. She went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our visit! I highly recommend staying here and the location is close to all the areas we like to visit!

Peaceful stay!

This sweet cabin was exceptional in terms of amenities, quiet, dog friendly, and cleanliness. We did a lot of hiking, returning "home" to a peaceful place. I was sad to leave!

This cabin was absolutely perfect! It is so well stocked, beautifully decorated, cozy, comfortable, everything we look for in a get away. We had a perfect long weekend, and are already looking to book it again.

Relaxing Stay

The cabin was perfect for us, the pond is charming and the screened in porch was perfect for enjoying it. The cabin is a good blend of feeling like you are in the woods but also close enough to Bayfield and the Apostle Islands to have some fun day trips!

Bird hunting and trout fishing couple
