The Thistle House off Chardon Square

Welcome to The Thistle House named in honor of Chardon, the French word for thistle. We invite you to enjoy a spacious, 3 bedroom, 2 full bath home in the heart of Geauga County. The large serene backyard has outdoor seating, outdoor eating space and a fire pit. The second story balcony is a cozy spot off the upstairs master for a cup of coffee or glass of wine.

Nearby restaurants, shops, parks, walking trails, golfing, festivals, and more will make you want to stay longer. We look forward to hosting you and suggesting anything from a great restaurant to a fun part of Northeastern Ohio to explore. Come and visit our nearby Newbury farm to see the chickens, ducks, horses, donkey, pigs and more!

Nice stay

Even though we didn't get much time to enjoy the house and surrounding area (son's wedding), we enjoyed staying there and would recommend for anyone looking for a base to explore northeast Ohio.

Charming house in charming town

We absolutely loved this house!! Incredibly comfy beds, kitchen stocked with everything you could need, great sheets and towels, and plenty of bath products. It was a short walk into town with a delicious coffee shop right on the square.

Quiet and quaint in lovely Chardon

Awesome little house - perfect stay for my dog and I - less than a mile from my childhood home - perfect place to stay to visit family- walkable to the square - very thoughtful amenities ! Comfortable bed! Enjoyed the stay very much

Great property - wonderful hosts.

Fabulous. We were in town for a funeral and the location was perfect. The house was lovely and well appointed and the hosts responsive and caring.

Amazing Stay!!!

Absolutely amazing stay!!! Beautiful place that made you feel like home the second you walked in. Everything you would need was on hand. The owner truly cares about making your stay the best! Can’t rave enough about what an amazing stay it was. Would definitely stay here again!

House is adorable

This is a great little house in Chardon. This location was great for us to visit family. The house is equipped with everything we needed and just plain adorable. We really enjoyed our time.

Thistle House was the perfect house to spend Thanksgiving with family. Thistle House host Molly was easy to communicate with. Check in was easy and the house fit our needs. Thank you Molly for coming by to shovel the driveway. That was a nice gesture! We will definitely recommend Thistle House for any friends or family traveling to Geauga County!

Great stay for a laid back girls weekend!

A group of 6 stayed over for a night and we had a great time! The house was clean and well-cared for, Molly was so easy to work with in planning, and we loved the cute yard and neighborhood! Definitely would stay here again for a weekend getaway, especially in the fall with the changing leaves :)

Family Wedding

The Thistle House was a very great place for us to stay for an out of town family wedding. If we would ever have a need to stay in Chardon again I would try to stay here again.

Located in Chardon with major roads close by and lots of amenities within a short walk/drive, Thistle House is the perfect place to relax, enjoy and explore the surrounding area. Not to mention it's spacious interior and large private yard, patios and fire pit! You'll find yourself wanting to stay even longer! Ask us for help in any area/with an request and we will be able to help you out. We are longtime residents of Geauga county and Northeastern Ohio.
