This home is located on the beach side in Galveston’s exclusive Pirates Beach neighborhood. Come and relax at the Salty Mermaid. Imagine waking up, sitting on the balcony listening to waves or take a short walk 6 minute walk to the beach. The Salty Mermaid is conveniently located close to many Galveston restaurants and attractions including Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Pleasure Pier, and the Historic Stand District. This is a beautiful brand-new home includes 3 Bedrooms, 1 King with a 60-inch Tv. 2 Queen Bedrooms with 42-inch Tv's. Two full Bathrooms. The Living room has a sleeper sofa, and a large 65-inch Tv for entertainment and sound bar. The gourmet kitchen has marble countertops, stainless steel appliances, Keurig coffee pot and all kitchen necessities, This open concept home is perfect for family gatherings. This home has a wonderful outdoor entertainment space, fenced yard and privacy Louvers below the house, there is picnic table, gas grill, the ring game ladder ball, and an outdoor shower. If you would like to rent a golf cart, we recommend Rick's Beach rentals. They deliver and pick up. *Minimum rental age is 28, must provide Id. and adults cannot rent this property on behalf of underage guests. **Absolutely no smoking or pets.** There is no washer and dryer. Guests must comply with these Rental Policies and all subdivision restrictions. The renter must have a valid U.S. driver's license. Be aware that VRBO fees are non-refundable on this or any VRBO property that you may book.
The home does have security cameras out side.
This is not a party home**
In addition if your reservation is for certain # people if more guest arrive with out letting us know, you will be charged. $50.00 per person. The house is set up for the people on the reservation. The house is not to exceed 6 people. If 6 people is exceeded you will be warned if continued you will be asked to leave.

The owners of the Salty Mermaid are not responsible for ANY accidents, injuries, illness or personal property damage that occur to the tenant's party, and/or tenant's guest in our property and /or while occupying the house.
By reserving use time with this property, the tenant's, the tenant's party, and/or tenant's guests, release and hold harmless the host from all liability for any accidents, injuries, illnesses and/ or personal property damage that occur to the tenant's party and/or tenant's guests on our property and/or while occupying the house.

Best place to stay in Galveston!

This is by far the best place we’ve stayed in Galveston and the best vacation rental we’ve stayed in to date. Great communication by the owner before, during and after our stay. The property was super clean and everything smelled amazing. All the necessities (and fun stuff for the beach) were provided. It was an easy walk to a nice relatively quiet beach but they also provided info for golf cart rentals .I can’t think of a single thing missed and will definitely stay here every time we’re on the island.

Very accommodating

The space is super clean, bright and pretty, we were there for 3 days and supposedly due to inclement weather, the internet did not work for a long period of time. If I could change one thing in the whole house, it would be to put shutters in the master bedroom door that leads to the deck. Everything else was great, definitely will try to stay there again if we go back to Galveston.

We definitely enjoyed hosting you. Unfortunately it stormed a lot during your stay. The internet is intermittent during storms. One of the downfalls of living on the island. As for the shutters I wish we could put something. Unfortunately that door is a storm door and we can’t drill anything into it. We welcome you back anytime. I’m glad y’all had a great time

Salty Mermaid

Wonderful place to stay! Easy walk to beach. Quite, Clean, modern and tastefully decorated. New all around. Well lighted. Room for two vehicles underneath and additional on drive. Very comfortable beds, modern kitchen and baths. Very nice owner easy to communicate with. Had a great and memorable time with family with plenty of room. Has Keurig but you may want to bring more pods. Kitchen fully stocked with utensils and cooking pans. Would stay here again.

Poor management for a lovely property

We have stayed at multiple properties in this neighborhood (6 to be exact) and always loved our stay. This property is new and nicely decorated, but the management could benefit from some hospitality training. We had come into the stay expecting many of the same amenities that other properties in the area had offered. We quickly noted the lack of home supplies, and access to washer and dryer that are so essential to an extended stay. A possible oversight on my part when booking, but we had come to expect these things for the area. We adjusted and went on with our stay. It was ultimately the check out process that left us feeling insulted and disappointed. We left the home clean and all instructions followed. Later that day we received a message stating that we would be charged for damages to the property. The host proceeded in accusing us of breaking a shower door and an outdoor plastic chair. I pride myself on treating any rental as if it were my own property, and certainly had done no such thing. The shower door never fully closed, but since it did not affect the functionality, we did not think to address it. I even had my husband look at it, as he is a highly skilled contractor who works on new construction and remodels frequently. He noted there was some poor workmanship in the framing of the door which prevented it from closing easily. The outdoor chair damage was a surprise to us, but somehow we also became liable. The host was hostile, accusatory and left us feeling insulted. Certainly will change the way we enter any rental from here on out, and put us in a cautionary state of mind. Would not recommend this host to anyone.

I'm very sorry about your experience, as stated on the listing washer and dryer is not for guest use and is not listed as an amenity. As for the home supplies, the home is supplied very well with everything needed and some, This is a brand new home and only rented twice with EXCELLENT reviews. The home is inspected with pictures and videos after each guest checks out. As stated we have had only 2 rentals and no prior damage to the home. The shower door opened and closed perfectly before your stay. After your stay the shower door hinge was bent downward and the glass is scraping on the tile. The outdoor chairs are 2 months old with very little use if at all any. After your stay there was a huge crack in the arm of the chair. If the damage was like that when you arrived as you stated, why would you not let us as the homeowner know? I asked you when you arrived and midway through your stay, if everything was ok and if you all needed anything. As for the communication. I spoke with you 24 hrs before your arrival with the code to house welcome sheet and text a video of how to use the storm doors. You texted back when you arrived and addressed the washer and dryer. I told you I have the only set of keys you stated "no worries" I checked on you again that evening, no response from you, then again 4 days later you stated. "Yes we are good thanks". We strive to provide an unforgettable experience and I am sorry your experience was not great.

Spring Break 2022

Everything was great. The property is obviously brand new and was very comfortable. I would recommend the house to anyone and the owners were communicative and friendly.
