We’re a family from Eugene, Oregon who grew up visiting Central Oregon and falling in love with everything this area has to offer—the mountains, the rivers, the trails, and the peaceful pine setting. For years we dreamed of having a place of our own here, and The Kos House became that dream come true.
When we designed and set up this home, our goal was to create the kind of retreat we’d want to stay in ourselves: cozy, comfortable, and full of small touches that make a trip feel special. We love skiing and snowboarding at Mt. Bachelor, floating the Deschutes River on hot summer days, biking the trails, and discovering local breweries and food spots. Hosting gives us the chance to share those experiences with others and provide a home base where guests can make their own memories.
We hope you feel the same sense of peace and fun here that we do every time we visit.

When we stay here, we love starting our mornings with coffee on the deck surrounded by trees, then heading out for adventure —whether that’s skiing Mt. Bachelor, hiking a nearby trail, or grabbing lunch and a pint at Century Commons. In the evenings, it’s easy to head into the Village for ice cream, a casual dinner, or one of the seasonal events that make Sunriver so fun.
