Enjoy direct access to Lake Wheeler from the dock in a 3br/3ba fully furnished lakefront home. Sleeps 6 adults, all 3 bedrooms have an attached bathroom, and provides a full kitchen, screened back porch, indoor and outdoor dining with a view, outdoor grill, great fishing, swimming. Family friendly (Pack-n-play, high-chair, outlet plugs). Up to 2 dogs (<50 lbs each) allowed for additional pet fee $150/stay. Government issued ID/DL required upon booking. On-site is Lucy's Branch Marina with boat slips, rentals, waterfront barge restaurant with live music Friday-Sundays. High speed internet provided. Joe Wheeler State Park close by. Amazing visit

We loved this house! Our daughter was at Space Camp and this was the perfect place to stay. And work remotely as well. Highly recommend! Owner was quick to respond to questions.

Relaxing

Nice quiet get away. Not a lot to do if you I are lookng for excitement. Nice restaurants nearby. Antique stores to shop. Fishing wasn't that great unless you have a boat. Altogether a nice quiet trip.

Lake House

The place was very nice and beautiful off the lake view. The owners were welcoming and friendly I highly recommend booking their place if you ever need a vacation spot.

Phillip regularly reached out to ensure we did not need anything to help make stay more enjoyable. Property was as advertised with even greater views of lake then pictures showed in my opinion.

Beautiful lake view

The house was just as pictured. It was very comfortable and the view was amazing! Even though there were houses very close on both sides we never heard or saw anyone. We were able to relax. Drove through beautiful Joe Wheeler Park and saw lots of deer. We also enjoyed visiting Athens and eating there.

Space camp stay

Very comfortable home, we enjoyed the view of the lake. The neighborhood was beautiful and everyone was very friendly. The screened porch was great for drinking coffee in the mornings. Would recommend the house and stay here again.

Great Place

One full week. All was good. Limited restaurants for a week's stay but the ones we visited were very good - lots of catfish. Best was Sunday at Joe Wheeler State Park Lodge.

Excellent stay, great responsiveness

The stay was as advertised, excellent stay, bad weather created a situation to arrive earlier then expected. Owner was responsive (within 30 minutes), helpful and considerate. Would recommend to any traveling as a family.

Peace and Quiet

Very nice house and well maintained property!! Plenty of space for the kids to play and not be crowded or noisy. Screened in porch and back deck offered a fantastic view of the river. Dock was great for swimming off and catching fish!! Beds were very comfortable, kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, dishes and utensils. Would highly recommend staying here if ever in the area. Very easy drive to and from Huntsville

Lovely View!

It was relaxing and pleasant to stay in this adorable lake house. The view was inspiring and we loved the glass wall that overlooks the lake! The owner went above and beyond by having all the cleaning supplies removed from the house to accommodate my allergies! It helped make my stay much more pleasant!

Gorgeous view with amazing back porch!!

This rental is amazing! There are few things that should have been added to the listing like the houses are really, really close to each other, the garage is not included with the rental and you can not keep a boat at the house! Over all this place was amazing! My kids loved the big open floor plan and the beds were pretty good! The big open windows truly have an amazing view while you eat and hang out! The view from the back porch is the main reason to stay and hang out! If we could have stayed longer we would have!

Fantastic!

This is one of several VRBO houses we have rented in the area over the years, and I am happy to say this home is at the top of the list. The home and property was exactly as advertised, and every aspect of the trip was great. The view looking out over Wheeler Lake is spectacular. One thing that stood out to me was the very good comfort level of the furniture. This is an aspect of VRBO homes that I'm picky about, as more often than not the furniture is on the lower-end of the comfort and quality spectrum. Not here, the furniture (and all the furnishings) were great! Everybody in our party would gladly rent this property again in the future.

Spectacular View, Very Quiet and Peaceful

That photo of the windows facing the lake is true to this property, but no photo can do the view full justice. Just a beautiful view of nature all day every day. Well-appointed, clean, and comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood only about 10 minutes from grocery and restaurants. Close to some great hiking opportunities. The deck (really decks) and steps down to the dock are remarkable. Many nice little touches of character like the lake map mural. Phillip was in touch, proactive, and quick to respond throughout the process. We had a great stay!

Really nice home and convenient to shopping and restaurants.

The only negative I had was not enough towels. We had to wash them every day and we didn’t go on a vacation to do laundry every day. If we had known that they only gave you 1 towel per person we could have brought our own. Also the trash situation. We pick up after our dogs and the trash pick up would not take them out of the trash can because they were not in a big trash bag.

Beautiful but not intended for elderly or small children

My Favorite part- Beautiful rope lights on entire back deck all the way down the 89 steps 😯 to water, screened in porch & nice window views. We had a great vacation! The marina is so close & great place to rent a boat & our host for the property was 5 star ⭐️ However, if you are truly a die hard fishermen (like our family) It was exhausting climbing all those stairs multiple times a day/night with lots of gear & then come in & climb several more if sleeping upstairs. It is unfortunately not set up for cleaning or cooking a mess of fresh fish either. Maybe My fault for making assumptions with the property named “Gone Fishing” Ps. bring your own blow dryer & games if rainy weather.

Beautiful views of the lake from the huge picture windows and comfy couches for convention or for watching movies. We had a wonderful friend’s reunion here; having a separate bath for each bedroom was a plus.

Celebrating a birthday

This property was clean and nicely appointed. The Deck and steps needed sweeping, but can understand with all the trees around. The weather didn't cooperate, but we had plenty of indoor activities. All in all, a nice family get-together.

What a retreat

Visiting Rogersville Alabama family from our home in North Carolina was a long trek and we were delighted to find this dream just a few miles from them! What views! What quiet! Not only a good visit but a quiet retreat for my husband and I to enjoy coffee in morning and glass of wine at night! Very clean and host was accommodating in every way! Lovely lake views and birds to watch. We will visit again!

We (Phillip and Reiga) have 2 young boys and all enjoy using the lake house ourselves when we have time. We own and manage rental of the house ourselves, and live not too far away from the lake house, in Athens, AL.

One of the great things about the house is the proximity to everything you need to have a good trip to the lake. There is a full service marina and restaurant on-site and Athens is a short drive away for other restaurants, groceries, and stores. The house also has one of the best lake views around and very excellent fishing.
