La Purita Ecolodge - Exceptional villa in the heart of an unspoiled island

Accessible only by sea, La Purita Ecolodge in Bocas del Toro is a sanctuary for those who wish to disconnect from the world and immerse themselves in the rhythm of the Caribbean. Surrounded by mangroves, tropical rainforest, and vibrant biodiversity, La Purita offers a serene space where comfort and nature coexist in perfect harmony. We can arrange a boat transfer from Isla Colón: the ride takes about 15 minutes and costs around $20 per trip for two people, with a lower per-person rate when there are three or more passengers sharing the boat. It’s a beautiful journey through emerald islets, wild mangroves, and turquoise waters—a preview of what awaits you at La Purita. If you prefer to manage transport independently, water taxis depart directly from Bocas Town port and from the dock near the municipal market.
The ecolodge offers generous indoor and outdoor spaces.Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by Vampy, our very friendly dog, who already adores you (especially if she gets a pat!). The living areas are open to the outdoors so you can take in the views, the sea breeze, and the many birds in the garden. A fully equipped kitchen and a barbecue are available for you to showcase your culinary skills. A minibar is available for your use at an additional charge; prices are displayed nearby. The four bedrooms feature sea and nature views, bathroom, terrace access and a private natural seawater pool. The water and electricity of the ecolodge come respectively from rain and sunlight.
As it is common in the area, there can be chitras (teeny-tiny mosquitoes) at certain times of day. Rooms are equipped with large mosquito nets, and we keep repellent at the lodge. If you’re particularly sensitive, consider bringing your preferred brand.
There are plenty of excursions, activities, and visits to enjoy nearby: 2 stand-up paddleboards on site that you can use for free, jungle hikes, snorkeling, or trips to neighboring beaches. Our location also allows you to connect with the Ngöbe indigenous communities, learning about their culture and traditions in a genuine and respectful way. We will be happy to help you organize these activities during your stay.
