About this property
Best View in Heber Springs | Mountain Cabin for 12
Escape to our hand-built log cabin perched on top of Round Mountain, with what we think is the best view in Heber Springs — sweeping views over the town and Greers Ferry Lake that you could stare at for days. The cabin sleeps 12 across 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, and it's just a scenic 10-minute drive down the mountain to downtown, the marinas, Sandy Beach, and lake access.
THE SPACE Main level: master bedroom with a queen bed and en-suite full bath (plenty of room for the pack-n-play), the living area, a fully equipped kitchen, and access to the wrap-around deck.
Upper level: two split bedrooms — one with 4 twin beds (the kids' favorite), and one with a queen bed and en-suite half bath.
Lower level: a second master with 2 queen beds and an en-suite bath, plus a game room with a pool table, Pop-A-Shot, board games, a smart TV, a small bar with sink, and the laundry room. It opens to another large deck with a covered picnic table.
KITCHEN & COMFORTS - Full kitchen: fridge/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, crockpot, air fryer, pots, pans, and dishes - Keurig (complimentary K-Cups) plus a drip carafe coffee maker - Fast WiFi (about 105 Mbps) and a dedicated workspace - 55" TV with Roku and Chromecast, plus a downstairs Roku smart TV - Central A/C and heat, plus window units throughout - Free washer and dryer, linens and towels provided - Pack-n-play / crib for little ones
OUTSIDE Gather around the fire pit, cook out on the charcoal grill or the swing grill over the fire, play cornhole, or relax in the hanging swing chairs and watch the sunset from the wrap-around deck.
NEARBY - Greers Ferry Lake: boating, swimming, and fishing, about 10 minutes away (closest boat launch is Vinegar Hill, by Sandy Beach) - Little Red River: world-famous trout fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. Sulphur Creek Outfitters in town rents canoes and kayaks and runs a shuttle. - Sugar Loaf Mountain hiking and rock climbing, Bridal Veil Falls, and plenty of trails and waterfalls - Downtown Heber Springs shops and restaurants
GOOD TO KNOW - We're a mountain-view cabin, not lakefront. The lake is a short drive away. - It's a real, hand-built log cabin on three levels with steep stairs and a few low-clearance spots (marked with high-visibility tape), so it isn't a great fit for guests who can't manage stairs. - The water comes from a private well. We recommend the filtered water from the kitchen sink or bottled water for drinking. - The cabin is the only house on the street. The driveway fits about 3 cars, with extra parking on the street. The road up is paved but steep with switchbacks, and in snow or ice we recommend staying in and enjoying the cabin. - The woods are all around you, so you may spot deer passing by. - No hot tub, pool, or indoor fireplace. - No pets (service animals welcome), no smoking or vaping, and no parties or events.
We're the McGarrys, a family who fell in love with Heber Springs, and we host the cabin ourselves. We can't wait to welcome you!

The cabin has a fantastic view and is very spacious. It is very peaceful. We enjoyed the patio area where we were able to cook and entertain our family.
Terrific day and night views to gaze at for hours while relaxing in the fully stocked home. Excellent communication with owner and easy check in and check out process. Very clean and safe and not far from town. A+
This cabin was a beautiful place and offered great entertainment with the game room and outdoor hangout area. There was plenty of room for everyone and if you read the story about how the cabin was started and how it was a local hangout spot, you would agree that it still serves the purpose the original owner built it for. To entertain and bring people together for quality time and fun.
Very clean house ! The ac needs updated not a place to stay during hot weather . When arrived it was over 80 inside . The upstairs bedrooms never cooled off . The last night people upstairs slept on sofa downstairs.
Firstly, the pictures don’t do the view justice. So peaceful and beautiful. My husband and I don’t typically sleep well when we travel. We slept wonderfully here. The beds are comfy and the atmosphere is cozy. The updates in the bathrooms are very nice. The shower is awesome! As far as the location, it is great. It’s very private; but, you aren’t too far from restaurants and the grocery store. The house was appointed with all the necessities and extra. We appreciated the complimentary k-cups for coffee. You must read the history of the home that is written on a plaque downstairs. It’s such a special story and leaves an even more comforting feeling of creating wonderful memories there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying again.
We are the McGarrys. We are a family of 5, with 3 children ranging in age from 5 to 13 years old. We live in Memphis, TN, but we love to escape the city to the beauty of Heber Springs, Arkansas.
Our prayer is that while you are here you have the opportunity to relax, enjoy nature, and be in awe of the beauty of God’s creation.
Enjoy your stay, and if there is anything we can do to help you have a more restful time, please let us know.

What makes this property unique
You're just ten minutes away from Greers Ferry Lake. There are also tons of trails nearby, some with waterfalls, and of course there's always Sugar Loaf Mountain for a good hiking and rock climbing experience!
Whether you're enjoying the water and beach in the summer, or doing some fishing in the fall/winter, this house is the perfect place to relax.
The Little Red River is great to kayak, canoe, and/or trout fish, along with the infamous Greers Ferry Lake!
Canoes/kayaks can be rented from Sulfur Creek Outfitters in town, and they even have a shuttle bus to take you to and from your choice of water :) There's plenty of local fishing guides too if you're interested.
