Villa Ilona is a vacation home designed by the artist and owner, featuring many paintings, illuminated objects, and sculptures both inside the house and in the garden. The house has a pleasant indoor climate. Only natural materials were used, such as marble from Crete, wood, and ceramics. The tiles in the kitchens are handmade. All rooms are colorful and furnished with thoughtful details. The rectangular pool is a good size (3x8 m) for swimming, and the wooden decking around the pool is not only pleasant underfoot but also lends a maritime atmosphere. The house features five different terraces where you can sunbathe, sit in the shade under palm trees, or even take a relaxing nap. The large garden resembles a botanical garden. Everywhere you look, you’ll find succulents, palm trees as tall as the house, olive and fruit trees, a sea of flowers, and giant cacti. Guests are welcome to harvest all the fruits (lemons, pomegranates, figs, elderberries) and herbs to use in delicious meals. The two fully equipped kitchens leave (almost) nothing to be desired. You’ll have to wash dishes the old-fashioned way. For coffee lovers, there’s a high-quality espresso machine on every floor. Villa Ilona is a home away from home, and the owners are delighted when guests feel the same way.
