Peaceful and relaxing

An amazing view with wonderful wildlife! Enjoyed starting and ending the day sitting on the porch enjoying the cool breeze, gorgeous views and abundant bird life.

Great property

Hosts go the extra mile, they provided eggs juice, milk, fruit, snacks and other breakfast items. Worked out well for us, very nice folks!

A beautiful stay conveniently located between Yellowstone and Bighorn National Forest

This VRBO was immaculate, comfortable, and well equipped for four of us and we enjoyed the facing view overlooking the Shoshoni River with mountains in the background. We easily made two day trips to Yellowstone and the Bighorn National Forest, and had fun visiting nearby Cody. The camp hosts were wonderful people to interact with and watching the array of birds at their several bird feeders was a bonus.

Amazing hosts!

These hosts are amazing and the setting is gorgeous! Watched birds each morning and enjoyed getting to know this host couple. Nice location close to Cody too. Now consider this couple friends! I know we’ll see them again.

Perfect Place

We loved our stay here! Beautiful home with a view. Stocked with everything out family needed ....but do beat and tidy! Comfortable beds and soft, fluffy towels! We appreciate all the nice little touches. So sweet and thoughtful to have breakfast items available. Jo-Anna, Davida d Darby are wonderful hosts and we would have liked to have a bit more time to visit with them...but spent all of our time in Cody and Ref Lodge!

Wonderful space with a beautiful view and kind, attentive hosts!

We loved staying here with our family of 4! The space is big and open, with 2 large bedrooms, living room, and kitchen. It was so nice to not have to worry about staple pantry and bath items that were provided. We had fun playing chess and Scrabble from the stack of board games in the closet. The outdoor sitting area is lovely! The hosts are super sweet and checked on us throughout our stay. It was a perfect location for evenings in Cody, adventuring in the Pryor Mountains, and horseback riding in Red Lodge! I'd highly recommend!

Stay at this home if you are in the Cody, WY area!

We had a wonderful stay in David and JoAnna’s apartment. They were so kind and helpful. The apartment had everything we needed and more. They included fresh items for breakfast. We loved visiting with them, yet they were very respectful of privacy. Their yard was beautiful as was the view and we could enjoy the outside patio. We also ADORED their black lab named Darby. She was an extra special treat because we were missing our dogs.

Beautiful, Clean & Accommodating

This property was wonderful for our stay. We had 7 guests, 4 adults & 3 children. There is a hide a bed in the couch but our children wanted to use the cot in the hall instead. That worked out nice as we put it between the single beds in our room & it left ample room to move around. When booking, i didn't realize this was the owners basement, but going back to review the listing, it mentions a basement apartment. The owners, Dave & JoAnna were so amazing! We went fishing one day & they borrowed us what we needed to clean the fish! They were very accommodating in any questions or needs we had. Even to the point that they messaged us when their internet was down so we were aware. The property was clean & had all the essentials. Owners even stocked the fridge with eggs, bagels, milk, OJ, jelly, yogurt, butter, coffee, & popcorn - which was totally unexpected! But was a very sweet gesture! Views were beautiful & it was so relaxing to sit outside & listen to the river & look out at the mountains. Plenty of parking for 2-3 cars, short walk to the door with just a few steps. Only a 15 minute drive to Cody where we spent most of our time. We loved this property, the hosts, & Darby, their dog!

Solitude on the Shoshone

We attended the annual Pilgrimage at the Heart Mountain World War II Confinement site, a mere 2 miles away. This rental was more than a convenient location; it was a refuge -- beautiful views up the river, birds galore, fine facilities for lounging outside. The rental itself was well-appointed. Everything we could need was supplied, including fixings for breakfasts. If you want to get away from the bustle of touristy Cody and don't want to find a place in Powell, this is ideal. Please note that the nearest grocery store is some distance away (c. 10 miles). DO, visit Heart Mountain. Think about Powell, too. One of the best restaurants in the area, the Lamplighter, is right downtown and you won't have to endure the hordes of people that flock to Cody.

Home away from home

From the minute we parked the car our stay was perfect. We used Eaglenest as a launch for adventures is the Bighorn Canyon, Red Gulch and Clarks Canyon. The care our hists put into every detail made our stay truly relaxing. The books and periodicals of local landmarks and history were sincerely appreciated. Thank you Jo-Anna and David, your thoughtfulness went above and beyond. As we pulled out of the driveway our son pronounced: "I love this place, we are staying here again and again".

Western get away, home away from home!

David and JoAnna were so thorough with communication before, during, and after our stay. We could tell they truly wanted to make sure we were taken care of. Their welcoming hospitality made us feel at home immediately. Their place is beautiful, well kept, and comfortable. Plenty of space for our family of six to spread out. The kitchen provided a useful place to prepare meals and finding some food items in the refrigerator was a nice surprise after a long journey. The setting on the river offers a peaceful place to unwind.

I am a retired schoolteacher, former homeschool mom, wife, mother of 4 daughters, and grandmother of 14 grandchildren. Volunteering keeps me busy as does my watercolor hobby, walking, cross country skiing, and taking care of our black lab. Gardening takes up time during the summer and I enjoy traveling with my husband of 45 years who has recently retired from his professional driving business. We have enjoyed being super hosts on another platform and decided to add VRBO also.

My daughter and her husband built this home, lived in it for 2 years and decided to build closer to town. In the meantime, we, on the east coast were planning to downsize. We decided that this home would fit our needs perfectly although moving to Wyoming would be a big change for us! We sold our log home, packed up and moved and we're so glad we did. We thank God for his direction and guidance in this matter and continue to do so! We love Wyoming and our cozy home.
