Beautiful stay in downtown Annapolis

  • 5 of 5

I would highly recommend this rental. The location was perfect; a block away from downtown. The house was well maintained and well stocked with needed amenities.

Amazing location, just a quick walk to the main part of town. Hot showers, clean, and a great backyard. Highly recommend. Hoping to be back soon.

Charming and perfect for the weekend

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this house for 3 days over the weekend and had a wonderful time. The location is perfect for downtown activities and the house is charming. There were 8 of us and we were perfectly comfortable. When we first booked the house I wasn't sure what to expect based on some of the other reviews, but when we checked in we were very happy with the cleanliness and condition. If tgere were issues before, they have been fixed. The rooms are a bit quaint, but that is what we expected when reserving a historic property. Maybe others had the wrong impression. In any event, we appreciated the opportunity to stay in such a nice house and really unique location. I certainly recommend this property for anyone traveling to Annapolis.

Perfet location and very comfortable

  • 5 of 5

My family of 8 stayed at this property for 3 days and 2 nights during a Navy football game weekend. We had a great time - the house was very clean and comfortable for a group that included a few rowdy kids. The location was perfect because we could walk to the Naval Academy and everything downtown.

Much less than expected

  • 2 of 5

The home is need of repair and upkeep. The pictures on the website are misleading and do not show the true state of the home. The location is great, but that doesn't make up for the interior condition.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your candid response. It is certainly unfortunate that the house was not in the condition that you were expecting. In your email to us after the weekend, you mentioned that the major issue was the damage to the ceiling in the master bedroom. We hired a contractor to inspect the ceiling and roofline and he found that there was a hole in the roof that allowed the hard rains we experienced the past few weeks to cause the damage that you had found. The roof has been fixed and the ceiling has been replaced where necessary. Unfortunately, we weren't aware of the issue prior to your stay and we can only hope that this inconvenience did not affect your enjoyment of the weekend too greatly.

Less than Expected

  • 3 of 5

Great location. Even in the rain we were within easy walking distance to shopping, restaurants and the Naval Academy. Fortunately, we were also within walking distance to a public garage. A parking pass was supplied, but not much use when the streets are full. The property was clean, but in poor repair. We replaced seven light bulbs so we could see. There were only three spares, so we bought the others. The blinds over the outside window beside the pull-out bed were laying on the floor broken, so we thumb-tacked a bed sheet up to give our girls privacy. The sheets for the pullout bed were easy to find because they were left in the dryer. I went out to look at the grill and the gas was still turned on at the tank which surprised me. The shower curtain rod in the upstairs bathroom was held together with wire in one corner where it had previously broken and the towel bar at the end of the tub was broken off the wall, but placed neatly on the floor like the downstairs blinds. Amy called me on the third day of our stay to let me know the side gate of the house had blown off in a wind storm, so I moved it to a safe location and covered the sharp screws with electric tape. City water was spurting up about an inch high through a crack in the curb right in front of the house during our entire 5 night stay. Not the owner's fault, but not nice to walk through on your way to the porch. Communication with Andrew and Amy was not optimal. We didn't hear from them until we called them 2 days before arrival and got our entry instructions. After the visit, I tried texting them twice and emailing them once to talk about our stay and in the past three weeks, they haven't responded. We really didn't have a BAD stay, but it was much less than I expected. I would not recommend this property if comparable locations are available.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. There were a few issues that were not taken care of prior to your stay and I want you to know that we have addressed those issues immediately. For instance, the broken towel bar and shower connection have been fixed and we decided to replace the standard light bulbs with the high-efficiency type designed to last a year or more - we hope that there will be fewer instances where a light bulb is out prior to a guest's visit. This was certainly a difficult weekend as Annapolis experienced the side effects of Hurricane Joaquin as it passed east of the Atlantic seaboard. I know that we and you were not alone in dealing with its impact that weekend. We hope that the damage caused to the gate and rupture of the city water line did not add too much inconvenience and difficulty to your stay.
