Just what the doctor ordered

This was a long-weekend getaway for my bride and I. The place was fantastic. It had everything we wanted including location - it was out of the way, in altitude, away from the noise and crowd. Management was easy to reach and communicated well. Check-in and out was easy and directions were easy to follow. We loved the whole experience and highly recommend this booking.

Wonderful get away, some challenges if taking your dog.

This is a gorgeous spot for a get away. It’s in a beautiful location and the interior has a wonderful design, creative and welcoming. Really nice. It is quite a drive from Evergreen proper into mountains via winding and some steep roads, but if you want to get away from it all this is absolutely perfect. Also, the directions in were excellent. We stayed here while closing on the sale of our home in Denver, so for us the back and forth took more time than expected and we might have reevaluated how practical a decision it was, had we known; but it was such a nice place to return to. Just be aware it is farther than Evergreen itself. It was a very comfortable interior locale for our doggo; unfortunately though, she is a senior so required carrying up and down stairs and had trouble negotiating the steep terrain outside the cabin…not too much flat area. Just be aware, probably not the best if one’s dog is old. All other dogs should be fine. The other tricky thing about taking our dog is that we were not allowed to leave her in the cabin without us being there with her, according to a sign that mentioned a financial penalty if we did so, so we loaded her in the car to take her wherever we went, which also presented a challenge. Overall however, a nice stay. Much appreciated!

Family get away

Family wedding in Littleton and stayed an extra week at Sunrise Lodge. Great location for relaxing in the mountains and taking in many great hikes during the day. Michael was easy to communicate with and very responsive.

Lovely Hideaway

Lovely mountain cabin with everything that we needed. The property is aptly named - Sunrise Lodge. The cabin deck faced east and the early morning sun was beautiful to look at over the wooded hills.

Comfy cabin in great location for hikers

We were delighted to stay at this very comfortable cabin as our home base for hiking and enjoying the gorgeous mountains. It’s wonderful to sit out on the deck enjoying breakfast and planning the day before heading out to the many wonderful hikes in the area. Mt. Falcon is 30 min in one direction and Staunton State Park 30 min the other direction. There are also several great hikes even closer right there in Evergreen. The cabin is also convenient for short day trips to the fun mountain towns of Georgetown and Golden. Evergreen itself is also delightful, with boating on the lake and great restaurants and shops in town. Our daughters especially loved The Crystal Garden and we had terrific sandwiches at the Evergreen Bread Lounge. The cabin has lots of windows for enjoying the mountain sunshine and fresh air, and it has everything you need to rest and relax after a day of adventuring. Furniture is very comfortable and rooms are spacious. Skylights are wonderful for the natural light and also for enjoying the sound of the rain when the thunderstorms pass through. We loved being surrounded by the trees, and especially the quaking aspens by the deck. If you’re a flat lander like we are (from SoCal) take your host’s advice about shopping before you arrive on your first day and arrive with plenty of daylight because you need to be able to take the mountain road slowly and carefully. The location is remote and the road is quite steep, but once you get your bearings, you’ll be fine. It is very nice to be able to get to the cabin and relax the first night and morning without navigating back down the mountain right away. Bring your favorite tea or coffee to enjoy the fabulous mornings. It’s aptly named the Sunrise Lodge. We’d love to stay again.

Summer cabin trip

Great get away in Evergreen!

This is a beautiful spot in Evergreen! Access to Town of Evergreen, Idaho Springs and surrounding areas. We were there for a Red Rocks show and the drive to RR and back was convenient. The view is beautiful, the drive up to the location is so pretty! We loved it! The host was very welcoming! Would recommend this location!

Great mountaintop views

This cabin is nestled among the trees and provides great mountain views from inside and from the decks. It is quaint and cozy, like spending time with family. Deer were in the yard each evening. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. Michael was attentive and helpful. We unexpectedly received about 8 inches of snow and Michael plowed the driveways first thing in the morning. The road to the cabin had been plowed as well, and our AWD vehicle had no problems.

Our Third Visit!

This was our third stay in Michael C’s Sunrise Lodge and as always the cabin was everything a “home away from home” should be. Although our first two visits were in winter, the spring snow storm was a surprise this time, and Michael was flexible and allowed us to extend our stay until driving down the mountain would be safe! Thank you Sir! This is the perfect place for a quiet getaway with access to great hiking just 15 min away! The cabin is charming, with every necessity provided! We are thrilled that he is pet friendly and the brand new deck with a gas grill and table is the perfect place to spend the evening with our pups after a day of hiking! There are deer that frequent the yard, so we travel with a small piece of exercise pen to keep the pups on the deck to watch - if they don’t bark the deer just stare at them as they graze in the yard! While inside the gas fireplace is perfect! All amenities for cooking up great meals are provided (we shop on our way up the first day and usually one more time during the week after a long hike brings on cravings for a juicy steak! Our previous visits included our young adult children - now with work schedules that kept them away. But Michael opened up his 3rd bedroom for those visits. The Sunrise Lodge is the perfect home away from home!

Sunrise Lodge Oasis 2021

Sunrise Lodge was the perfect getaway for us. We have visited Colorado many times to see our daughter and this by far was the best time we have ever had. Probably because we could bring our dogs and we didn’t have to go anywhere if we didn’t want to. The tranquility and temperature along with the beautiful wildlife visitors was truly awesome. Will definitely seek out staying here again upon a return trip to Colorado.

Nice quiet stay near Evergreen

The property was very well kept, and the owner was very easy to communicate with. We saw some elk in the morning, and enjoyed the cool mountain evenings. Would definitely recommend.

A much-needed getaway

Everything was clean and well-managed and the overall location and ambience were lovely. We weren't expecting to be able to see other properties as easily as we could (and the view of the snowplow from the master porch took away from the beauty but we understood the necessity) but we still felt isolated. We enjoyed watching the chipmunks (or ground squirrels) from the porch every morning. The owner of the property made himself accessible without being intrusive at all (and his directions to the property were very good). If you live locally in the Denver metro and like your knives and cookware just so, be sure to bring a sharp Chef's knife and/or bread knife and your favorite skillet. But in general it was well-stocked. We would definitely recommend this place and this owner.

Amazing

Everything was just perfect! The pictures do not due this house justice and the pictures are nice. We were incredibly impressed with how spacious the house is. The bed was very comfortable and we had no issues with anything. And watching the deer meandering around the house in the morning was a huge highlight. Thank you for being great hosts!

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful time at the property. It was large enough to have family and friends over. Deer grazing outside while we had our coffee on the back porch. Everything was clean and organized. Michael was a awesome host!

A very nice cabin in the woods

I loved the Sunshine Lodgea. I wasn't so wild about the 10 miles of windy steep roads to get to it. Maybe just because during the holidays, there are so many last minute items needed and the drive to and from wasn't convenient. It is a very comfortable stay.

Terrific Mountain Getaway

Really nice!

This cabin was terrific. Tidy and just perfect for our needs. Remote location. We came in after the rare September snow and were grateful we listened to the owner's advice that an AWD vehicle would be needed. The grades getting to the cabin are quite steep, but we had no problem with our Chevy Traverse. Lots of trees, but still can see mountains. Watched the sunrise each morning through the big windows of the main bedroom. Dogs were welcomed and host left great notes and info for us, and was easy to contact if we needed anything. Would definitely stay again.
