This cottage had everything we were looking for in a cape house. It's walking-distance to the beach which is incredibly helpful considering parking at other beaches can be a pain/expensive. Also, the walk itself is a lovely stroll through a quintessential Cape neighborhood with perfectly manicured lawns and great architecture.
Pleasant Rd. beach was great. Flat, soft sand and calm, shallow water that was perfect for our 14 month old to play in and for the adults to take delicious dips in the ocean.
The house has a gorgeous lawn and landscaping and we spent most of our time in the great backyard patio area hanging out and grilling. I took nothing but outdoor showers for an entire week which is how you should do it in the Cape, but there's also a great water-pressure shower indoors of course.
The house was really well-stocked with kitchen utensils, plates cups, tupperware etc. as well as a full-size crib, high chair, washer-dryer and everything you would ever need for the beach including a bunch of chairs, boogie boards, noodles, beach toys, etc. etc. Bedrooms are big, and comfortable and even though it's not a huge house, we felt very comfortable and able to spread out as four adults plus a baby.
West Harwich is a great Cape location and just a 15 minute drive to Chatham or 45 minute drive all the way up for a day in Provincetown.
Lastly, David was a great host and super communicative. His welcome booklet was really helpful and I'm glad we used his recommendations countless times to improve our stay and have some great meals. Would definitely recommend this spot and hope to come back with the family next summer.
