Pure Michigan awaits you in this newly-renovated home which has 100 feet of private frontage on Crooked Lake - part of the famed Inland Waterway. Large lawn & private dock. Bike path steps away and ski hills only 9 miles away. There is nothing quite like Northern Michigan. We can’t wait for your visit. Enjoy the lovely cottage featuring all the modern conveniences. The space
Conveniently located on US-31, heading out for exploring northern Michigan couldn't be easier.
- Petoskey Downtown (10 minutes away)
- Harbor Springs Downtown (12 minutes away)
- the Mighty Mackinac Bridge (30 miles north)
- ferry service to Mackinac Island (28 miles north)
- public boat launch (2 miles down the road)
- Nub's Nob Ski Resort (9 miles away)
- Boyne Highlands Ski Resort (9.6 miles away)
- North Western State Trail connecting Petoskey to Mackinaw
City (across the street!). This is a bike path in the summer, and
a snowmobile trail in the winter!
- The Tunnel of Trees (20 miles away) for fall colors
- Pellston Regional Airport (11 miles away)
- Maps at the Cottage for local wineries and maple syrup sugar bushes.

The Oden Island sandbar (seen from the Cottage) is one of the most popular places on Crooked Lake for mooring a pontoon and exploring the sandy lake-bottom. There are Marinas close-by for renting jet-skis by the day or week, or bring your own boat and launch at the Little Traverse Boat Launch just 2 miles down the road.

The Crooked Lake Cottage is your jumping-off point for all things northern Michigan. We are proud to be on the beautiful Inland Waterway - the chain of lakes and rivers which connects Pickerel Lake, Crooked Lake, Crooked River (which has a fully operational lock and the world's smallest swing-bridge!), beautiful Burt Lake, Indian River, Mullett Lake, Cheboygan River to Lake Huron.
Getting around
The Cottage is ideally located for those wanting to explore the area by boat, kayak, paddle board, paddleboat, bike, ski, snowmobile, or snowshoe.

During your stay
All you’ll need to bring is food and drink all other amenities are provided for a lovely stay.
Enjoy a plethora of books, games, puzzles & a cozy clean warm stay with lovely views.
We've lived all over and fell in love with Northern Michigan. We are looking forward to hosting your Michigan vacation. Whether you're coming to the area for a quick getaway, special occasion, a romantic weekend or here with your kids to have some fun in the sun and dip in the water. You are in for a treat. Stay with us for a weekend of skiing or fun filled days and fires by night for relaxing summer adventures. We would love to help you make lifelong memories at the Cottage. Beautiful house on scenic Crooked Lake. We had all of the amenities needed for a full week stay. Christy and AJ were very accomodating and responded to all of our questions. AJ met us, at our last minute request to use the pontoon, and gave us throrough instructions for its use. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Loved that my husband could read in the livingroom while I watched tv or perused on my lap top in the separate 2nd lounge area. We cooked some meals and ate at several great restaurants in the surrounding towns. Petoskey and Harbor Springs were great to walk around and shop. Loved the Tunnel Of Trees scenic drive, too.

Wonderful Cabin

The cabin was cozy, a nice setting area, tv in separate sitting area. Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and utensils. All you need is to stock your own food. Plenty of extra bedding, towels and host is local, to help out when needed. Host was absolutely amazing and responded promptly with every message. Very pleased with our stay!

Amazing cottage!

We had an amazing week! We have stayed at many VRBOs and this is by far the cleanest house with some small additional items that really make it homey! We had a small issue and Christy was very responsive and immediately helpful to resolve which was much appreciated. Would definitely stay here again!

A home away from home!

The owner was amazing at booking and communicating and this was absolutely the cleanest place we have ever rented! It was well stocked and my kids loved the snacks. It was wonderful to have the coffee selection. We also lit a new candle each night! It truly felt like home for us and we’ve never had quite that experience with any vacation rental. We LOVED the paddle boat and getting to take it out to the sandbar. We will absolutely be back to stay!

Crooked lake cottage

The house was very clean and modern. Beautiful views of the lake and hills, close to the ski resorts that we were there for. The host was very accomidating and provided everything we needed for an amazing stay. Looking forward to staying there again.

Cute and Cozy and Clean as can be!

This is our second stay in this lovely, cheerful little lakeside cottage. It is cozy, clean, and has so many amenities and special extra touches like extra toiletries, snacks, and drinks. We appreciated the winter/holiday decor for our winter vacation and loved the games and puzzles that were available for our use. The internet was fast and reliable. We would stay again and highly recommend!

Fall up North

This was a lovely property. Right on Crooked Lake. It is on a busy highway St Rt 31 but the noise is minimal sitting in the back. Great Location to many places. Good restaurant accross the street. The fall folliage was beatiful and will probably be at peak the last two weeks of October. Definately a place we will go back.

Little yellow cottage on Crooked Lake

Beautiful! Could not have asked for a better location, perfect view of the lake, ducklings(:, Swans, flowers, trees, just so tranquil. Christy and A.J. out did themselves by stocking everything you can imagine. First place that literally means just bring yourself! We had such a good time visiting family and just generally relaxing after a hard year for both of us. We hope to be back!

Cute place

The place was clean and set up well for us. It is right off of the main road, but once you get inside, it doesn't matter much. The owners were easy to get ahold of and I felt if we needed anything they would be available. If you are sensitive as I am about scents, be sure to ask them to air it out and remove them, before you stay with there. They informed me they would be happy to do that for me next time. Overall, no inssues or complaints! It was enjoyable!

Fantastic winter ski cottage!!

This small cottage was perfect for our 4-day trip to The Highlands. It's only a 15 minute drive to the slopes and was a perfect place to stay. The cottage was clean, comfortable, cozy, warm, and well appointed. Christy has everything you will need for a winter stay. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook full meals, comfy beds, and lots of "in case you forgot it" items, too.

Cozy and Convenient Cottage

We loved our stay at this cottage! It is right on the lake with great views from the family/dining/living areas. The house was impeccably clean and tidy. It was well-stocked with everything we needed during our stay and then some! The hosts thought of everything! Communication was great and we knew we had help at hand if necessary. We hope to come back again soon!

Cozy Crooked Lake Corrage

We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cottage on the lake! It was charming and homey! the fully stocked kitchen was so convenient for our two week stay! The property manager was very attentive! We’ll definitely be back!

A breath of fresh air

Thank you for allowing us a quick trip. This trip was overdue and much needed. We were able to kick back and relax. We enjoyed the comfort, amenities and dinner right across the street. We look forward to a return trip come summer. Our hosts were fantastic and quick to respond with a welcome basket and check in during and after our stay.

Lovely cottage and get away.

Safe to say this is our new home away from home. We will be staying as often as we can. Christy and Aj are wonderful hosts and the cottage has everything we need. The restaurant across the way is super convenient and we can walk all around safely and take a quick drive to town. Thank you again.

Up North Cottage

Everything we expected and more. The place was very clean and matched up with the description. It had a great up north Michigan feel. Sandbar is close. Northwood across the street is great. Close to both Petosky and Harbor springs. Great family getaway.
