We sincerely apologize about the mishap upon arrival with the space not being cleaned at 3 PM as advertised. Our cleaners had someone not show-up on your arrival day and it put them behind. This is the first that we have heard that the space wasn’t cleaned to our high standard and some areas were not done well. We apologize. Next time, please let us know while here so that we may get it resolved immediately and so that it doesn’t negatively affect the stay. We appreciated your message on day of departure stating, “we have had a wonderful week and the property description was accurate” but are disappointed we were so severely penalized in the overall rating for our lovely home.

Oh no. While we appreciate the feedback, we are very sad about such a poor review. On the evening of arrival day, we send a message stating, “We hope that you have settled in alright and that you are enjoying your stay. Please let us know if there is anything you need or if we can assist you in any way.” We didn’t receive a reply and were not contacted a single time about any issue during the stay so assumed everything was great, as it has been for our previous guests. This is the first we have heard about a malfunctioning TV and will resolve the issue immediately. Our cleaners have a remarkable reputation. They sweep, vacuum, and mop after each guest departs with the next guest arriving just hours later. It is a constant struggle with sand at the beach. If a place was missed, we apologize, but this would have been an easy fix had we had an opportunity to address it. We don’t supply beach items for a number of reasons, such as: 1) They disappear. If we advertise a beach chair, wagon, umbrella, etc and someone walks off with the items, the guest would not be happy as they were expecting these items and we could be penalized for “false advertising”. 2) Items like this don’t hold up well in our environment. If a chair collapses or rusts out, we could be at risk for injuring someone. If there is a rip in the umbrella or an item is not functional, we could be penalized for proving unusable equipment. 3) We would need to inspect and replace such items so regularly that it would be a full-time job. We simply aren’t staffed to the level to be able to do it. If someone in a previous party leaves beach items, we will leave them for the next party to enjoy but we don’t supply such items. We note this in the description and we send a list of recommend items to bring before arrival so there are no surprises. We were aware of the jammed pocket door but to fix this, it is a bigger construction job than you would think, requiring trim and sheetrock removal, track replacement, and repair. It would be a major inconvenience to fix the sliding pocket door while the space is occupied. We plan to resolve the issue the next time we have a couple on unoccupied days. Until this poor 3-star review, our average rating was a phenomenal 9.5 out of 10 and we sincerely apologize if your experience wasn’t similar.
