Lovely Lakefront Home on Wallowa Lake W/PrivateBoat Dock
average rating of 4.2 based on 35 reviews

Beautiful view of the lake as soon as you arrive at the property.

The views and water accessibility can not be beat. The house layout was perfect for us. All the bedrooms were upstairs and the bottom floor was nice and open and led out to the deck overlooking the lake. The Traeger smoker was a hit and made the burgers taste incredible. The home is older but has been renovated and looks to have continual updates throughout. I would recommend renting this to anyone but would advise to wait until summertime until wallowa lake activities are open and the dock is on the water. I would try to stay there again in the later summer months if I make it back to Wallowa lake in the future. Great memories made. Worth the price all day long.

Great View and Cozy Accommodations

  • 4 of 5

We spent 3 nights and enjoyed the cozy and unique rustic character of this house. Great views through the large widows. Beds were pretty comfy compared to typical rentals. Checking in and out was easy and the owners are very good about making sure your stay meets expectations. We enjoyed the quiet of the off season but wished we could have taken advantage of the dock that is out in the warmer months. The couch and chairs were so comfy they induced quite a few naps.

Just what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

There were 5 of us young adults here for New Years, and it was exactly what we needed, the rooms were perfectly sized, beds were so comfy, we played board games at the kitchen table, put together a puzzle in the living room. I was so happy to see a big pot in the kitchen as I forgot mine for the potato soup I planned to make (maybe best one yet!) We did jump in the lake as a toast to the New Year and getting down the icy ramp was a bit challenging but I think that was an issue maybe only we would run into! LoL. Great experience! thanks so much!

Beautiful views, location

  • 3 of 5

Three of us had a great autumn stay on the lake! A good home base for hiking, scrabble-playing, cooking, and relaxing.

Pros: amazing views of the lake, and the mountains on the south end of the lake. The location is great-- lakefront but still a fairly quick trip into Joseph for anything you need. The house has plenty of space to spread out with three bedrooms away from the living space, and the living/dining/kitchen space is fantastic! It's big, open, warm, and fronted by amazing lake views off the deck.

Cons: we'd really recommend putting in a railing on the stairs. They're kind of wide open in the middle of the floor, so this place might not be a good fit if you have someone in your party that might get nervous navigating stairs without a rail, or for young kids, until there's a railing of some sort installed. There's no heat source upstairs (just very cozy bedding!), which probably isn't an issue most of the season here, but if you're staying while it's fall/winter, it gets chilly upstairs. There are a couple of small upkeep things that we noticed too-- lots of the towels smell mildewy, some windows/doors are missing screens, and many of the light bulbs are out around the house.

We can tell this house has been enjoyed by many! It's well-worn and has some quirks, but the location, views, and value for them is really hard to beat.

Beautiful views and a cozy place to stay. The home is nice and clean. We would recommend it .

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay, the house was so quaint and the location was just perfect. We all needed some down time and that is what we got. So peaceful and quiet. The weather was great and we fished off the dock and bank. We had a fire in the fire pit two of the nights we were there. We were not ready to come back to the real world so, I would say it was a success. We would stay here again.

Great location, but needs upkeep

  • 3 of 5

The house is pretty run down inside and out. A thorough cleaning, de-cluttering, some new dishes, pillows, and blankets would be a good start. Given the location, the morning sun on the deck, the lake access... it could be a great place, but it isn't now.
