Location: Port St. Joe, Florida (Eastern time zone)

Formerly known as “Gibson House”, Sol Y Luna (meaning Sun and Moon) provides an everlasting experience of joy at the beautiful beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, and now with a private heated 12'x30' pool! Completely remodeled in 2023 (Check our Facebook page, "Sol Y Luna Beach House", for remodel updates!), and sitting on 65′ of direct beach front premier property, Sol Y Luna is your private oasis now featuring 6 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, 2 large kitchens and 3,040 square feet of cozy space that can comfortably suit the multi family vacation gatherings providing a lifetime of memories. Even better are the private unobstructed water views with 300′ of dedicated beach on the north and south side of the home leaving no direct neighbors! The sunsets and moon light over the Gulf of Mexico are breathtaking to enjoy from the large balconies. Enjoy all the area has to offer being comfortably nestled in between Port St. Joe, Windmark Beach, and Mexico Beach, and even more convenience with Shipwreck Raw Bar located across the street! Come discover Florida’s Forgotten Coast and enjoy the sugar white sandy beaches and great memories with the whole family. This home features free high speed wifi with blazing 1 GIG speeds, and streaming cable with Hulu + Live TV! This home is on Eastern time zone. Sorry, but Sol Y Luna is NOT pet friendly. Pool Heat fee: $350/week + tax (pool heat optional)

Coffee Maker Type: Standard 12 cup + K Cup (set for each kitchen)

All guests agree to the full terms and policies in the Rental Agreement at time of booking. See Rental Agreement.
•Must be 25 years or older to book, and this primary registrant must be present the entire duration of the reservation.
•CANCELLATION FEE: 95% of paid deposits is refunded if you cancel for any reason (the payment processor, Stripe, does not refund the processing fee). Any reservations canceled within 60 days of arrival are only partially refunded if property is rebooked for same period and rate.
•Prices, terms, and conditions of property subject to change without notice.
•Construction may be occurring in or around the area at time of stay. Construction schedules of other properties are unknown.
•Due to strict cleaning procedures, no guests will be allowed to enter the property before the check-in period. Check in time may get delayed if maintenance or extensive cleaning is needed prior to your arrival.
•Travel Insurance is highly recommended to protect your investment in the need to cancel due to unforeseen events such as health problems, travel delays, extreme weather events, etc. We do not offer travel insurance.
•All reservations are subject to confirmation upon initial rental submission, regardless of the booking platform. Owner reserves the right to confirm or decline any reservation.
•Property is not available as a venue for events.

Absolutely perfect house. Every bedroom has its own bathroom. All bedrooms have a gulf view. 2 Fabulous kitchens with everything you need for meal prep and cook! 2 stunning decks. There is enough space for everyone to spread out play games and cards. We were only steps to the beach and came back to the best pool you could ask for. We did not have to fight for beach space which is a huge plus. Contact with the host was great even though we did not need anything we knew they were only a message away for assistance if needed. You can still see the Damage from hurt Michael from 2018 but this house has recovered beautifully!!!

Family Beach Trip

Our family enjoyed this property for our annual beach trip. Plenty of space. There was a full bathroom for each room. The pool and private access to the beach were great. The owners were responsive the one time I needed them. Thank you. We will consider staying here again.

elderly and young ones may struggle, has spiral stars to get up to bed rooms on the upper level . Or go outside on deck to enter them. there is 2 bedrooms on the main level. no hand bars in the showers. the furniture in living rooms will slide when sitting. We tried to keep it on the rug so that wouldn't happen, but seemed to come off the of rug easily. Maybe some sort of grippers on the legs would stop that. the pool area needs to be gone thru to get rid of damaged chairs and other stuff. All 10 of us age 69-9 did enjoy the place, had plenty of room, view of beach was beautiful

This is a fabulous property which proved more than adequate for 7 adults and 7 children/teens. Double living areas and kitchens, wide verandas and multiple bathrooms provided ample space so there was no feeling of being crowded even with 14 people. Alliances are modern, and large washer/dryers made keeping up with clothes and towels simple. The beach was not crowded even on Memorial Day. There is no downside to this property.

Amazing Beach House

We had family from all over join us for this beach getaway. The property was amazing. One of the best things was each bedroom had its own bathroom. This made it so convenient for everyone. There were also 2 bathrooms outside the 2 kitchens. One outside by the pool as well as an outdoor shower with warm water by the pool. We booked the property before the renovations and so happy we did. The accommodations were great. Will definitely book this property again.

Perfect for our annual family reunion/Gigi birthday bash!

16 people, 5 children for annual Great Grandmother's birthday/ Labor Day event! Perfect house with 6 bedrooms, 2 living areas and full kitchens. Only downfall was the Internet (TV) is sketchy/non-existent with bad weather which was when we needed the TV. Lol. We seemed to always be blessed with hurricanes but it did start working when the weather cleared. Lovebugs swarmed during our stay. Not sure what we can do about that but we plan to go back next year. Great location and perfect house for us!!

Family vacation

The property was perfect for our family. House was well stocked and very clean. We had a 3 year old with us. The water was perfect for him. Minimal waves and the sand shelf made it not over his head for at least 50 yards out. The pool was great also. The sun deck was used by all of us. Each bedroom being an en-suite was a great feature. Not one single complaint about the property. We would not hesitate to rent from them again. They were very responsive at check in and check out. Had no issues at the house so we didn’t have to contact them once during our stay. Wifi was strong enough for 10 phones several TVs and 2tablets to operate at the same time. Living room furniture was especially comfortable. Beds all comfortable. We couldn’t have picked a better place for this years family trip.

Obfuscated details in Inaccurate listing, plus appalling customer service

NOT for families 1. Inaccurate details - listing doesn't say 4 upstairs will have to share 2 Jack-N-Jill bathrooms. Only 2 out of 6 Rooms have their own bathroom. 2. Upstairs rooms SMELLED of WEED (MARIJUANA) 2 rooms upstairs were totally choking with the smell of WEED - could not step into the area. Reported it to property mgmt. They have not responded even after 5 days 3. Exterior Paint job half done, sharp rusted nails left all over the deck and not cleaned. We had to spend 1/2 day counting and cleaning the deck! 4. Poorly maintained with creaking beds, floors and light dome filled with bugs 5. Ice is refrigerator was weeks old - no clean up and restoration done Overall a disappointing, unhygienic stay and we could not use 1/3rd of the property due to 2 rooms totally out of bounds with WEED smell.

Best Beach Trip Ever

Everyone in our group agreed that this was the best beach vacation ever and we have been going down to the beach for many years. Sol Y Luna, located in St. Joe Beach, is set up like a duplex with divider doors in the middle. It is directly on the beach so, no elevators, parking garages, crowded beaches, or a multitude of people staying there. The are no other houses directly on either side so you have no close neighbors. Shipwreck Raw restaurant/bar is directly across the street but they close at 9pm and it is not a loud party place. The house was built in the 1990s. Each side has a fully equipped kitchen, with a ton of plates and glasses, living room, master bedroom with full bath, and two bedrooms, each with two full sized beds, upstairs that share a shower and toilet. Each bedroom also has a vanity, sink, and mirror. The upstairs bedrooms have an interior door that leads to a spiral staircase to go downstairs, and an exterior door that goes out to the spacious upper deck. The lower deck has two tables/chairs that seat six, along with several rockers and small tables. The upper deck has a combination of rockers and loungers, along with beach seating along the rails and walls. Plenty of sitting space for larger groups. The living rooms and master bedrooms have televisions and there is 1Gig wi-fi available that works great. There is a half bath in the kitchen area. You can park four vehicles under the house and up to four more in the open. The washer and dryer are in a room on the ground level along with a charcoal grill. We arrived on Memorial Day weekend and the beach was not crowded. There are several public beach access points and people can park on the edge of the road. The beach was busy but not nearly as crowded as other beaches with high rise condos. By Tuesday, the weekend groups had left and we had plenty of beach to ourselves. St. Joe Beach is a dog friendly beach so people were constantly walking by with their dogs. The water was much calmer here most days was very clear. We loved the sunsets, dolphin watching, al kinds of crabs in the water and on the beach. We had plenty of space, kitchens had everything we needed for the week, and everything worked. This is a place we want to reserve again.

Great house for size and location

This house was very accommodating for our size group of all ages and the location was amazing!! We never felt crowded or lack of places to sit or gather. The location was perfect for the beach as well as food and access to boat ramps for our fishing and scalloping trips. The host was amazing as she called to assure we arrives safely!! We will definitely be back!!

Fun in the sun

Our visit to Port St. Joe was fun and a wonderful experience. My family was delighted with the house and the beach. There were many places to eat and shop. We look forward to visiting again.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at this house many times over the years, it was called the Gibson House then. It has recently changed owners and rental management which is a bit disappointing since the Gibson’s were local and handled any questions or issues themselves. It seems to be in good shape after coming back from hurricane damage although a few things could be improved. One big one is the lack of porch rocking chairs! There were only three total for the whole house and we had 10 adults. Very disappointing since we spend a lot of time there in the morning and the evening to watch the sunset. And to just relax and watch the waves. There were a few other minor things like an upper door with a broken deadbolt and conflicting garbage pickup information. The trash cans were all full when we arrived on Friday and were not emptied until Tuesday. All in all though you can’t beat the beach location and virtually private setting.

Not clean or maintained

Arrived and the house was not cleaned well. I had to re clean. The guests before us did not take their trash out to the street cans for trash day, so for our whole trip there was piled up trash at the street and no where for us to put our trash. I notified the office, but the trash was never picked up. Also, there was a storm and the ceiling in the kitchen leaked. Many things in the house half way broken. Enjoyed the layout of the house, but not enough attention to the house. There is a very busy restaurant across the street also.
