Long Description:

We purchased this home January 2010 and did a complete renovation of the kitchen and Master Suite. We are in the heart of downtown historic Annapolis, steps from the US Naval Academy (really just steps): a one minute walk to Gate 3, a 2 minute walk to Gate 1, and directly across from the Chapel. We are just a few minute walk from the City Dock, Ego Ally, Maryland State Capital, Main Street and the heart of the historic district.

The Navy Marine Corps football stadium is 1 mile away, and a pleasant walk on a nice day (and faster than driving through the game day traffic!).

We've decorated and furnished the home with a nod to the historic character of the architecture (the home was built in 1890 and added on in 1920!). There are built-ins, detailed moldings, a double staircase, two fireplaces (one has been converted to gas), a sun porch looking onto King George Street and a stunning and stocked "Cook's kitchen."

The formal dining room is adjacent to the kitchen and features an antique dining table from the 1920's. Though not entirely "historic" the house does also include wireless internet and a large flat screen TV.

Upstairs, the Master suite was designed with a more modern feel and features a large bathroom (which was featured in Annapolis Home Magazine) and second floor sun porch overlooking the back yard with views towards State Circle The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed and the third bedroom has a pair of twin beds with a view of the Navel Chapel dome! There is also another another recently renovated full bathroom on the 2nd floor.

We have 2 off-street parking spots and a beautifully landscaped backyard with a patio and grill, shady trees and plenty of room for a backyard get together.

Mature groups only. This is not a party house. Ideal for family and friends looking for luxury getaway. We look forward to speaking with you!

About Casey and Kristjana Cook

We lived in this house from 2010 to 2015 with 3 small boys and had a blast! As the boys got bigger, we knew it was time to give up being Townies and settle in the 'burbs. But this house is still a huge part of our hearts! When it's not booked, we are often found hanging out in the sunroom, working on our laptops and enjoying people watching and listening to the Chapel bells. Annapolis is also well-known as a "runners town" and still serves as our home-base for the Annapolis 10 miler, Annapolis Half Marathon and the Zooma 10k!

Casey and Kristjana Cook purchased this house in 2010

Great Location and Lovely Home

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Annapolis and also used the house as a home base for trips into D.C. Overall the house was phenomenal and the hosts were easy to engage. The only minor negative was a challenge with the television/WiFi going out repeatedly while we were there (more of a Verizon issue than owner issue). This place is perfect for a family. For multiple couples, you might fight over who gets the very nice Master Bedroom versus the other bedrooms. That said, you will enjoy your stay here a lot and having a drink in the sitting room while watching people walk by on King George St is a lot of fun. Incredible proximity to the Naval Academy and downtown Annapolis. Having private parking was a huge plus too.

Charming house, perfectly situated

  • 5 of 5

I spent two nights at this lovely home with a group of friends. The atmosphere was ideal for sitting around, enjoying each others company and catching up. We cooked a group dinner easily in the large kitchen, and played games all night around the fire. It's an easy walk to town to enjoy all on offer there. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

A perfect holiday!

  • 5 of 5

We spent the Christmas and New Year Holiday at 219 King George. A perfect location only steps from the Naval Academy, Maryland Avenue shops and the City Dock. Loved Harry Browns for cocktails, City Dock Coffee for Cappuccino, and Annabellas for great snacks. Prepared a few meals in the beautifully renovated kitchen with lots of granite counter space, and enjoyed the walk- in shower in the huge master bathroom. Our two sets of friends who visited loved the house too! Thanks for sharing your home.

Reunion Perfection

  • 5 of 5

The location is great for enjoying downtown Annapolis and the USNA. Our son and family were in Annapolis for his USNA reunion. There were five of us staying together and loving it. The house is a charming historic house with parking places for our cars so we could walk everywhere we needed and wanted to be. The house is lovely, comfortable and very well maintained. The owners are very responsive with information and help, if needed. This is the perfect spot to stay in Annapolis.

Home, Location, Amenities, PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, my sister and her husband, and their 2 teenage kids stayed at "Downtown Abbey" and we couldn't have been happier. I would have left 6 stars if I was allowed.

You walk out the house onto King George St, and you can walk across the street to the Naval Academy (the Academy's famous church dome can be seen from the front window! Or you can make a right turn and 2 minutes later you are in the center of downtown annapolis. We had a gorgeous 4 days of sight seeing, and eating at all of Annapolis's great restaurants. The boat show was being prepared and there were dozens of mega yachts in the small harbor.

Friends from town came over and we relaxed in the beautiful back yard. Most houses in Annapolis don't have a yard or parking. We had enough room for our 2 SUV's to park. I particularly liked the kitchen and the luxury master bath. The kitchen had everything we needed, and most everything was new, with no items forgotten. I like to cook and made huge breakfasts. My husband is an early bird and he walked to the coffee shops on Maryland avenue, literally out the back door, and 100 yards away.

Annapolis is a walking town, and we couldn't have been happier with the location. Kristjana - our host was so very kind. We had a few questions about the town and she always was pleasant and timely in her responses.

We will come back next year! Thanks Again. Kerrie and Mike, Youngstown, OH
