About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Come have fun and make some great memories in our cozy West Shore cabin. The cabin, which is perfect for either one or two families, is on the quiet, wooded West Shore of Lake Tahoe within minutes of beautiful beaches and amazing ski resorts. Our cabin sits between two empty lots, so your stay will feel private and peaceful.

In the summer, barbecue and eat dinner (or breakfast or lunch!) on the large front deck. Walk to the nearby beach, country store, pizza parlor, or park. A paved bike path will take you north to Tahoe City, or south to Sugar Pine Point State Park. Hiking opportunities are everywhere, and the soft-sand beaches at Meeks Bay and Emerald Bay are gorgeous. Or simply stay home to relax, surrounded by lots of open space, peacefulness, and beautiful tall pine trees. In the cabin you'll find a variety of fun movies, games, and books. If you prefer Tahoe in the winter, you'll find cross-country skiing just down the road, and a great hill for sledding about 10 minutes north. We've also made mini sledding hills (and snowmen and igloos) for our kids right outside our door.

The cabin has lots of Old Tahoe charm, and we've made some nice upgrades, such as new flooring throughout, an updated master bedroom, a new gas free-standing stove, new windows, and a new washer and dryer set. Both of the bedrooms have queen beds, and the loft has two twin beds and a small sitting area with a twin hide-a-bed. A smaller daybed in the upstairs bedroom is great for the child who isn't quite ready for his/her own room yet (we can also provide a pack-n-play and portable high chair for the littlest ones). There are two full bathrooms in the cabin.

We've worked hard to make this cabin a comfy and cozy place, and we are hoping that you and your friends and family will enjoy it as much as we do!

About The Owner

Thank you for visiting our Cozy Cabin page! We love the area and the quiet neighborhood. We'd love to share the beauty of the mountains and the lake with you!

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2009

Why The Owner chose Lake Tahoe West Shore CA

Having a home in Tahoe has been a longtime dream of ours! We hadn't spent much time on the West Shore until finding this place, and we are so happy that our realtor opened our eyes to the area. The view from this side of the lake is amazing, and the neighborhood of Tahoma is close to everything and yet also far away enough to offer lots of peace and quiet.

Exceeded our expectations

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 12 year old son and I enjoyed some Spring Skiing at Homewood Resort just minutes from the PERFECT Cozy Cabin. We had never explored Tahoma - but fell in love. Started with all of Pennie's great recommendations, but the best was the obvious love and attention the owners have for their home away from home. As first timers through VRBO, the Cozy Cabin exceeded our expectations. Great size and price for us and we already want to return this summer with friends. Best stocked kitchen, movie library (amazing collection!), clean and nicely decorated, comfy beds, thick towels, easy stove/heat and spectacular pine trees outside your windows. Walked the safe and easily navigatable neighborhood many mornings and started dreaming of having our own place to share some day! Thanks to Pennie for a great spring break vacation with the family.

A wonderfully cozy cabin in Tahoma!

  • 5 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying at the cabin over the 4th of July weekend, and we really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is exactly as described--cozy and comfortable, and located to all the greatness that the West Shore has to offer. The kitchen is outfitted with all the basics you'll need, has comfy beds, and we enjoyed the movie selection, too.

Pennie is super responsive and helpful. We'll be returning for sure, and highly recommend.

It was perfect

  • 5 of 5

The cabin worked out perfectly for us. It was clean and well cared for. Pennie was great to work with and very responsive. I guess the best review I could offer is to say that I would definitely return if I'm ever looking for a place in Tahoe again.

Great cabin for family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was spacious, clean, and cozy, located in a very quiet area. Great location and child friendly. Perfect for a family vacation on Lake Tahoe. Bathrooms were pretty cold, but I guess not altogether unepected given the season and construction of the cabin - one of them had a small heater which helped. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Cozy cabin indeed!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for a weekend snowboarding getaway for our group of 4 adults. The cabin was just as advertised and very roomy for our group. It could easily accommodate more comfortably. It was clean, cozy and came stocked with utensils, plants/cups, pots/pans and even other cooking basics like oil and seasoning. The location was fantastic- 2 min from the lake and 2 min from Homewood. While Homewood was unfortunately closed the weekend we were there (check their website beforehand!), the drive to Alpine/Squaw was only about 25 minutes. Pennie was super responsive leading up to our stay and very pleasant to correspond with. The only thing I'd point out to folks traveling during the winter is to follow the driving directions Pennie gives you (and not the Google map directions). If you take the Google map directions, you'll find yourself driving up a small hill at the very end and might end up getting stuck in the snow like we did.
