"Just Right" Cozy Cabin on the West Shore: 2 bdrm + loft!

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,076 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 1 - 2 nights

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Come have fun and make some great memories in our cozy West Shore cabin. The cabin, which is perfect for either one or two families, is on the quiet, wooded West Shore of Lake Tahoe within minutes of beautiful beaches and amazing ski resorts. Our cabin sits between an undeveloped lot and a conservancy lot, so your stay will feel private and peaceful.

Summer is winding down, but the fall is a great time to get away from it all. Of course, if you prefer Tahoe in the winter, you'll enjoy the slopes at Homewood Mountain, Alpine, and Squaw Valley. You can go cross-country skiing just down the road at Sugar Pine Point State Park, and hit a perfectly sized hill for sledding, about 10 minutes north. We've also made mini sledding hills (and snow people and igloos!) with our kids right outside our door. There is a small but well-stocked market conveniently located just a few blocks away. We make sure to have our driveway plowed and the deck shoveled free of snow upon your arrival. The roads around our cabin are plowed regularly, which makes accessing the cabin easy in the winter. In the cabin you'll find a huge stock of movies, boardgames, and books to snuggle up with.

In the summer, relax or barbecue out on the large front deck. Walk to the nearby beach, country store, pizza parlor, or park. A paved bike path will take you north to Chamber's Landing or Tahoe City, or south to Sugar Pine Point State Park. There are easy or more difficult hikes both north and south, and the soft-sand beaches of Meeks Bay are just 5 minutes south. And a little farther south is the gorgeous Emerald Bay.

The cabin has lots of Old Tahoe charm, and we've made some nice upgrades, such as new flooring throughout, an updated master bedroom, a gas free-standing stove, new windows, and a new washer and dryer set. The master bedroom downstairs has a queen bed, and the loft has two twin beds and a small sitting area with a twin hide-a-bed. The upstairs bedroom has both a queen and a twin (we can also provide a pack-n-play and portable high chair for the littlest ones). There are two full bathrooms in the cabin.

We've worked hard to make this cabin a comfy and cozy place, and we are hoping that you and your friends and family will enjoy it as much as we do!

About The Owner

Thank you for visiting our Cozy Cabin page! We love the area and the quiet neighborhood. We'd love to share the beauty of the mountains and the lake with you!

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2009

Why The Owner chose Tahoma

Having a home in Tahoe has been a longtime dream of ours! We hadn't spent much time on the West Shore until finding this place, and we are so happy that our realtor opened our eyes to the area. The view from this side of the lake is amazing, and the neighborhood of Tahoma is close to everything and yet also far away enough to offer lots of peace and quiet.

Sweet, comfy nest.

The name & description of this gem is just right. It is cozy, comfortable, and well appointed. The location is great. The owners are friendly and pleasant to deal with. The lake is close by. West Shore Pizza is a fun place for pizza & beer. We would recommend this cozy cabin to a couple or a family, for a short or long stay. We will stay here again, I hope!

Great cozy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Great little cabin in Tahoma on the west side of Lake Tahoe. Felt like a cabin in the woods - no road noise at all, very homey and comfortable. The second floor does creak some and the mattresses are getting a little tired, but overall we had a wonderful stay with our friends this past weekend. Communication was clear and concise, with excellent written instructions for arrival and departure. It's close to Emerald Bay and DL Bliss state park, with excellent hiking opportunities. It's also located just blocks from the bike path that goes up to the Truckee river and then down to Squaw valley. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would definitely consider staying there again.

Amazing cabin for families, super clean and conveniently located!

  • 5 of 5

From first contact the owner Pennie was easy to work with and truely cared that my family and I would have a good experience. Upon arrival the pride that Pennie takes in the cabin was evident. Everything was in excellent repair, the drive and walkways were clear of snow and the cabin was immaculately clean. The rooms were well sized and the sofas were very comfortable. It was super nice to have an upstairs and downstairs bath and the kids loved sleeping in the loft, which is really like another bedrooom. The linens were good quality and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and all itmes were spotless. When we had a huge snowstorm, the owners crew came and cleared the drive and walkways and Pennie gave us a late checkout when 80 was closed. If you are looking for a family getaway to ski homewood or just see the sites on the west shore this is the place. Pennie treats her guests like family, stay with her, you wont regret it.
