My husband and I were living in Texas, I'd retired from teaching and was having fun with a design business I'd previously started. My family has great memories of growing up summers in the old family cottage on a lake in MA, and we all still take turns using the cottage. Yet, we'd always wanted a place of our own. We were looking for a fixer-upper in a good location near the ocean or in a deep water location for sailing. This is the house. At first sight, some would have considered it a tear down, but once inside, I could feel the possibilities. While John stayed home working, I spent from Nov.to mid June chipping, scraping, sanding, painting, sewing, hauling, and planting. Add the all important work of admired carpenters, plumbers and electricians and we now have our most loved 'little' house.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 2004
Cape May is beautiful, historic, and offers so much to do and be involved in, the town is charming. Cape May Point, down the road a little bit, has kept that very rare (any more) summer place feel we wanted. A person can bike any place they want to go if they feel like it. The beaches are wonderful, you can lounge and read and watch the dolphins play. Fishermen fish from certain beaches and jetties, there are lifeguards and good swimming beaches. The whole area of Cape May Point is green with trees and grass. With Cape May Bird Observatory's Hawkwatch close by, bring your binoculars, grab a bike, borrow a birding book, and head on down to the platform by the lighthouse.
Instead of having sidewalks where visitors stroll, we're able to have woods across the street belonging to an old estate. Seagrove is an old beautiful street, delightful to bike, walk, and live on. Most days you hear the surf and with all the trees, we've got birds aplenty singing their songs. It's a happy inviting sort of place. We're close to the lighthouse and Hawkwatch, and have all the Point beaches to choose from. Sometimes you just get on a bike and ride through the Point having a marvelous time. The flag ceremony at Sunset Beach is a bike ride away; once you go and take in the ceremony honoring a veteran, you'll think about going more often. Soon after the ceremony it's a good place to watch the sunset. If you want to stay home, well, you just pull out a chair and relax on the balcony or in the private courtyard.
My wife and I stayed here in summer 2016 - we met the owners and they are very nice. A wonderful place to stay in CMP. The owners did a great job decorating this cozy get away - we will definitely be back
My fiancé and I spent a long weekend at Sea Grove and had a great time. It is a short drive or walk to Willow Creek Winery, one of our favorite places to visit in Cape May. The place was clean with a great, new kitchen. Kay is very quick to respond and very helpful with recommendations.
My wife and I spent 5 relaxing days in Cape May Point at the Seagrove Too. The accommodations were elegant and simple. I would highly recommend this clean and modern apartment, tucked away on a quiet offshoot from Sunset Blvd. Within walking distance of the lighthouse but very secluded. We were very comfortable there. Plenty of space for 2 people. Nice touch was the iPod sound systems which we used for our own music that we brought on our phones. Kitchen was easy to move around in. We were very pleased with all the pots, plates and utensils that were available. Many thanks to the owners for the care they show this apartment.
This is such a charming, comfortable and beautifully decorated apartment convenient to all! Had been to Cape May before but hadn't stayed in the Point area - will from now on. It's an easy bike ride on the provided bikes to the natural point beaches, the village, marinas, etc., and you definitely feel like you are getting away from it all. Wildlife is everywhere and enjoyed morning runs over to the lighthouse where a few nature trails begin which were wonderful to explore. Kay and John provided perfect instructions on all details ahead of time. We would highly recommend and hope to return!
WOW! We were stunned by the lovely decor and practicality of the rental. Everything was available that we needed and we cooked almost all of our meals there. In between birding in am and pm, we could read, nap, explore birding sites on the I-pad, and listen to music. Since no one was in the bigger unit while we were there we had complete privacy. Conveniently located to the light house at CMP and to the Audubon shop. Beach was nearby but we went mainly to more northern beaches to see red knots and plenty of them. The birds were phenomenal. Loved it here and would choose to stay at the same place although we tried a different one first nearer the beach two years ago. This apt. was immaculate, comfortable and convenient. Couldn't have asked for more!
