Stunning Mountain-Modern Cabin Close to Asheville w/Hot Tub
Spring in the mountains of Western North Carolina - a time of rebirth and rejuvenation! Come visit and experience this special season! Pleasant days, crisp evenings, long-range views, hiking, breweries, antiquing, golf, biking-lots to do around the Asheville area! Aerie, a stunning modern 'cabin', could be just 'the' perfect base camp for that visit-a quiet, peaceful, off the beaten path lodging option where you can enjoy nature and unplug. Don't wait-make your plans now! (4WD/AWD access only).
Located on a 1.5-acre parcel near the end of a privately maintained, single-lane, mountain gravel road at an approximate elevation of 3,250', Aerie is just 14 miles from downtown Asheville, 12.4 miles from the Biltmore Estate, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is only 9.2 miles away (though certain sections of the BRP are currently closed). Due to the terrain of Flat Top Mountain (Aerie's home), 4WD or AWD is required year-round (to comfortably traverse the few areas of steeper incline), however, don't let this deter you - we believe that Aerie is a truly special place and think you will too - this tranquil location is well worth the trek!
The home is single level with deck stair accesses. The open living area (LR/DR/kitchen) features a stunning commercial grade window wall providing the incredible feeling of being nestled high up in the treetops! You'll be impressed with the mountain and valley views during the Spring, Autumn, and Winter; and in the Summer, you'll experience a sense of peace and tranquility being tucked amongst the Tulip Poplars, Red Oaks, Hickory and Birch trees which hug the property. Beautiful 5" Hickory hardwood floors throughout the living space embody the true sense of nature. While the LR fireplace is not available for guest use, an assortment of candles are staged and can be used for ambiance. If cooking is your 'thing', Aerie's kitchen features gorgeous granite countertops, spacious custom cabinetry, bar seating, dishwasher, oven, stovetop, microwave, full refrigerator, coffee maker (with a couple of starter coffee packs provided), toaster, pots/pans, dishware, glassware, utensils, spices - most everything needed for your culinary needs. The 2 bedrooms each offer a king-size bed, closet, dresser, side tables, ceiling fans, and flat screen, smart TV. There are 2 full bathrooms, both with tile floors: the master bath has a 2-sink vanity, large mirror, tiled walk-in shower with glass door, ample cabinet space, and a stack washer-dryer unit; the 2nd bath features a family heirloom antique washstand with vessel sink, tiled shower-cast iron tub combo, and heirloom storage cabinet. The leather sofa in the living room offers Aerie's 3rd sleeping option with its pull-out queen-size bed.
Venture out onto the main deck via 8' glass entry doors where the cable-rail system eliminates any obstruction to your views of the neighboring mountains and valley. The large deck features both open and covered sections with several seating options. Step out of the kitchen door and down the side stairs to enjoy Aerie's 7-person hot tub, tucked beside the home and bordered with solar lights. Don't forget to enjoy your evening 'hot toddy' with some scrumptious 'smores by the fire pit (firewood/fire making materials are not provided).
You may end up being greeted by some of our local 'visitors' - it's not uncommon to see some of our deer and black bear families, wild turkeys, busy little chipmunks, chattering squirrels, and a variety of songbirds. You may also catch sight of a box turtle or some of our salamanders and 5-lined skinks (perhaps a black racer or ring-neck snake as well). During the day, you'll hear the choruses of songbirds, the occasional call of a red-tail hawk, and the caw of ravens. At night, you may be fortunate enough to hear the nearby 'hoot' of owls, see a raccoon, opossum, or flying squirrels. And, if you're really lucky, you may even glimpse sight of a bobcat.
