Huenning is situated directly on the Treene River, which meanders through the surrounding area with its numerous branches. Not far away lies the Schlei, a beautiful fjord with charming villages along its shores, stretching all the way to the Baltic Sea. The region is ideal for daily excursions; the beaches of the Baltic Sea and the Wadden Sea of the North Sea are each only about 30 kilometers away. You can even explore neighboring Denmark from here. The nearby towns of Flensburg, Schleswig, Husum, and Friedrichstadt offer a wealth of cultural attractions, and within easy reach, amusement parks, zoos, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools promise fun-filled days for the whole family.
