Nature, Peace, Quiet, Privacy ... Check, Check, Check!!!
This little guest cottage is mountain style dressed up with modern day decor and features a convenient little kitchenette, complete with dishes, cooking utensils and a small fridge. The cozy living area is complete with a king bed, a wardrobe housing a flat screen TV, a rocking chair and lamps on end tables. The bath area has a unique yesteryear claw foot tub, just like the good old days (not to worry, it has a long shower handle for those longing for a shower not from yesteryear!). The loft area has a sitting area over looking the creek, a double bed and a chest of drawers. This cabin is comfy and cozy for two, but welcomes up to 2 adults and 2 kids. And the kids will truly be one with nature (as will you) with acres to explore, frogs to find, birds to watch, stones to skip ... the list goes on and on.
The front porch is covered so you can sit on the swing and listen to the birds singing and expect a lot of flying wildlife on property! The deck is complete with a newly installed hot tub for you to take in the stars while relaxing alongside your 800 feet of Little River frontage access! There is also an outdoor table and chairs to dine out.
The property has so much to offer. You can take a walk around the property (11 full accessible acres) or hike through the surrounding woods and beautiful seasonal flowers can be found all over the property for your enjoyment. Picnic spots are also available throughout the property to rest your legs or simply sit to enjoy your own slice of mountain life. You might see some wildlife, as there is an abundance and the area land is not as developed as other towns. There are also two ponds on your property! Tube down the lazy creek or stroll through the vegetable garden, relax, sit back, take a load off, you have earned it. You deserve it!
You are sure to find something that will be a memory to take home. "Calming, stress relieving, and peaceful." These are the words we hear time and time again to describe this beautiful well-maintained, gated and secluded property.
You are invited to visit our little piece of heaven, and feel free to bring your pet (with approval) - you'll be glad you did!!!

The cabin was very nice and comfortable. Unfortunately the weather was rainy for our stay but that’s just how it goes sometimes. We did have issues with the WiFi because of the storm. It was reset at one point and was working fine until the weather came in again and by then it was too late to call mrs connie. Wish the router was in the cabin itself so we could just reset it without bothering her. The cable would go out with the storm as well but you can’t necessarily blame that on management. Also without AC the cabin can get a little toasty, we opened all the windows and slept on top of the covers until about 2 o’clock when everything finally cooled down. With the weather the way it was we were stuck indoors most of the stay. Mrs Connie seemed very sweet though and the property was maintained.
It was very beautiful and serene.
We loved our stay at the cabin. The cabin is perfect for a quiet getaway. The bed is so comfortable and we had everything we needed for the night. The property is so well kept and gorgeous! We woke up to a beautiful snow scene. Very peaceful place.
Most beautiful cabin, it was everything we could ask for and more
Beautiful property away from everything . Will be back soon
Martha, we do hope you will make it back. Come back for a couple nights this summer, the land blooms all over! Thank you for your kind words! Connie so loves sharing this magical little cabin!
Everything was more than what was expected. Very nice weekend getaway.
We absolutely loved this cabin. I have nothing bad to say at all. We needed a good weekend getaway and this offered way more for our peace and quite weekend than first thought. I would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting some alone time or just a peaceful stay. The cabin was very clean. The area is super nice. Great job Connie and thanks for everything. Trip well needed and this cabin delivered 100%.
Thanks Butch S.
Butch, thanks so much for the visit and for truly enjoying yourself and the Little River! Connie prides herself in giving 100% to the cabins and I am happy it shined for you! Please do come back!
Wonderful Little Cabin
**Important to Note**
1. The cell service is basically nonexistent in the vicinity of the cabin (as expected), so make sure to load/screenshot the gate/key codes from the app/email well before you get there. We didn't consider this and had to drive to a school a little up the road to use their wifi to load the page with the gate/key codes.
2. While there is technically wifi, neither of us were able to connect to it. Either the signal is too faint or not functioning. This was fine as we were only staying for a relaxing night, but I wouldn't bank on it working.
3. There is a coffee maker and filters, but no coffee. It didn't occur to me to bring any, so make sure to bring some if you'd like coffee in the mornings.
4. It didn't snow, but we likely would have run into some issues making it to the cabin without 4wd and/or snow tires.
This cabin was great. The property is beautiful and quiet, and it was nice knowing there was a gate at the entrance. This also made check-in a breeze, as we just drove straight to the cabin and used the codes to get in. The hot tub was great. The bed was SO comfortable and the claw-foot tub was beautiful. Downtown Boone was only about 15 minutes away, and skiing on Beech Mountain was only about 20. We had a great time!
Jessica, thanks for the 5-star review and happy you enjoyed yourselves at Little River Honeymoon Cabin. I realize you only stayed one night, however, I wish you would have called Connie to ask for some assistance! She always leaves instant and regular coffee in the cupboard with the spices and we haven't had a WiFi issue before, it probably just needed to be reset. Cell service is spotty in the mountains, some cell providers work and others struggle. We get snow in the mountains, however, we would consider this an "easy winter access" cabin located off a state-maintained road without inclines onto the property, so about as easy as you will find in the mountains. We will always recommend 4x4, but the majority of guests do not bring 4x4 and select this cabin because of its accessibility. We are so happy you had a great time aside from these inconveniences :)
Our nearby town is Boone, NC and the home of Appalachian State University. Boone has the main grocery stores and shopping centers. The outskirts of town has many interesting activities. Valle Crucis Park and Mast Store, Tweetsie Railroad, Cove Creek Store and the many streams and Watauga River, for fishing. Restaurants are plenteous and delicious here in the High Country. We have ponds and waterfalls in the area as well. The Skiing is great in the high country as well, we have Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, and Appalachian ski slopes. Also, nearby we have beautiful Watauga Lake. Antiquing, site seeing, gem mining, white water rafting, so many fun things. High Country and our beautiful Mountains is a must see.
