Cowboy Cabins is cute home, located on a working cattle ranch, in Fort Klamath, very close drive to Crater Lake . Beautiful cedar deck over looking the valley where you can watch the cattle graze by, and other wildlife. Quiet, peaceful and secluded, away from any city noise, but yet only 19 miles to Crater Lake National Park. Crater Lake is open, the only thing closed is the path down to the lake, it is under construction. Bedroom has end tables with phone charger outlets , and AC in bedroom and in the living room. Coffee, snacks, lots of extras provided. Wonderful place to relax, and enjoy your vacation.

The unit was perfect for my wife and I. The unit was clean and comfortable. Cowboy Cabins was close to Crater National Park. The owner gave great directions toons to the unit.

This is the second year that I have stayed at the cowboy cabins which has been extraordinary awesome. The cabins are maintained well and I look forward to staying another week next year again. The communication with the host is handled promptly and courteously.

I saw some of the negative reviews before I booked this place and I’m so glad I decided to give it a go anyways. This is a tiny home/ cabin on a ranch. Not your typical definition of luxury but if your definition of luxury is like mine then I highly recommend this place. I stayed in cabin 3 which was the perfect size for 1 person or a couple or 2 friends who are extremely comfortable with each other. The bed was very firm but honestly comfortable and I woke up without any back pain after hiking around crater lake all day. The porch has a coffee table and chairs facing the open cattle pastures and a beautiful ridge. Despite being fairly close to the cows I had no smell problems and instead enjoyed afternoons reading in peaceful quiet and fantastic sunsets. It’s about 30 minutes from the closest crater lake entrance which is why I stayed here which means it’s pretty remote so plan on packing in your own food and cooking. Service is spotty out here so I downloaded my Google Maps but the wifi at the house worked great. If you enjoy cabins in the middle of nowhere I can’t recommend this place enough. I very much enjoyed my stay and will probably be staying again. I did get a couple mosquito bites which isn’t something anyone can control just bring bug spray and you’re fine.

Crater Lake Adventure

We loved our cowboy cabin and welcomed the quiet and peaceful nights. The prairie dogs were fun to watch too!

After bringing in all our luggage and putting our few groceries in a very clean fridge we washed our hands in murky water. The toilets had murky water. we tasted it to drink, as there was no other option, and it had a terrible taste. The water could not be considered potable for drinking. We weren’t sure if we should shower in it. My husband then left to buy 2 gallons of water for drinking and coffee the evening we arrived. The closest place was a 30 minute round trip. Our second morning the power went out so there was no water at all. We had decided to leave a day early anyway but in preparation to leave we had no flushing toilets since the water was hooked to the electricity. Our hostess when told of the outage and our leaving provided a credit for the trouble of buying our own water. I think good water should be a priority to provide or at least let guests know ahead of time so they can bring their own.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry that the appearance and taste of the water caused you concern during your stay. However, we would like to clarify a few things for future guests. The water at our property is safe and potable. It is filtered at the pump and has been tested. Because this is a rural property with a private water system, the water may occasionally have a different appearance or taste than municipal/city water, but it is safe for normal use, including drinking, cooking, showering, and bathing. We also keep gallon jugs of drinking water available on-site for our guests at no charge. Had we known you were uncomfortable drinking the water, we would have been happy to provide them—you only needed to ask. Unfortunately, the power outage during your stay was beyond our control. Because the property uses an electric well pump, a power outage also temporarily affects the water supply. When you contacted us about the situation and your decision to leave early, we did our best to make things right and provided you with a credit for the inconvenience and the water you purchased. We take great pride in providing a clean, comfortable place for our guests, and we feel that a 4/10 rating does not fairly represent the property or the efforts we made to address your concerns, particularly when the primary issues were safe well water and a power outage outside of our control. We appreciate the feedback and will make sure future guests are made even more aware that complimentary bottled water is available upon request.

Cows and coffee

We absolutely loved our stay!! We had our coffee on the deck while watching the cows. The place was immaculate!!Perfect space for the two of us. Host responded quickly to a question. We loved the location and spent our days at Crater Lake.

The cabin is cozy and comfortable with everything you need. The setting is unbeatable and peaceful. We had a great stay, and it was a great landing point for exploring crater lake.

Clean, friendly, well stocked with full kitchen fridge and stove/oven. Very peaceful setting with easy drive to Crater Lake. We were in number 3 which has a nice deck facing the pasture and rock formations. Watch for the golden eagles! Recommend bringing in some food if you plan on hanging close to cabin.

Amazing and a hidden GEM. I have been going to Crater Lake for the past six years and my normal place was booked. I was so happy to find this place. Clean, kitchen had everything I needed and I loved the view. So much more. The best place to stay at a very reasonable price. The HOST was great!

Nothing but Moos and Prairie Dogs

It was a great place. The herd of cows made it a very mellow start to our stay. In the morning we were greeted by the very busy Prairie dog community just steps from the house. Everything was need and tidy. We would definitely stay again.

It was a great property. The view from our window was very peaceful as were the surrounding ranch lands. The property owner was very responsive to messages as well as provided a helpful heads up about the limited grocery options in the area. So coming with sufficient provisions is advised.
The view from our cabin was beautiful and peaceful.
The proximity to Crater Lake is huge plus.

I met my son, who has been hiking the PCT walking north to south. It was a nice getaway for him and two friends he met on PCT to relax, rest their legs, and cook some great meals after we enjoyed crater lake national park. Kitchen well stocked for those who like to cook. The cozy cabin was clean and Tanna was very responsive to questions.
