About this property
Waterfront Trailside Cabin 23B
What do our guests say about us? Perfect! Amazing! Awesome! We will be back!
As you round the shoreline, the stretching waterfront landscape will catch your eye as you approach the parking lot directly in front of the lodge (Yes! There is ample space for a trailer!). You will use a keyless lock system to enter your cabin.
Open your door and you are already on the ground level of your new place! You will be instantly greeted with the aroma of pine which is visible in the tongue and groove walls and ceiling as well as an instant sight of north facing windows capturing a stunning view of the Portage Canal. What you will find on second look is a comfortable queen bed around the corner and many beautifully crafted pieces of cedar, Amish made furniture.
Traverse the stairs to the third floor and you will find an open lounge/entertainment area with three more queen bedrooms and a Queen sized futon. This cabin accommodates ten adults.
Each of our hand made, custom milled, northwoods cabins boast a three story duplex including a ground level, garden style unit and an upstairs double decker terrace style unit. The cabin size in total is 2,500 square feet! (550 and 1,950 square feet respectively). They all include full kitchens and washer/dryer units for your convenience and utility.
Walk out the back door onto your balcony and embrace the jaw dropping, sweeping beauty of the Keweenaw Waterway in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Whatever your needs may be: Visiting Michigan Tech, snowmobiling (the Bill Nichols trail is only .25 miles from the resort!), swimming at the beach, or skiing (Mont Ripley is less than 2 miles from the resort), we offer a comfortable, comprehensive resort experience for you.

The property was very clean and well located with respect to Downtown. We were there with family six adults, and the property was very spacious and had many amenities. We would stay there again and recommend it for anyone staying in Houghton or Hancock.
Our group stayed at the cabin after our backpack trip on Isle Royale. Lakefront Resort cabin is convenient to the seaplane, restaurants, and shops. It is spacious, clean, and comfortable. Our group enjoyed the accommodations & the lakeview.
A group of 8 adults aged 45-60 enjoyed our stay at Keweenaw Waters Resort. The Cabins are new and clean and very close to the trail head we used to explore the area on our side by sides. The cabin itself was well equipped and had more than what we needed to cook some amazing meals. One amazing thing about these cabins is that each of us had our own bathroom, which made it very comfortable for a large group. We are looking to return this fall and would definitely rent here again!

Ronda, Thank you so much for your kind words about our property! We are so glad to know that you enjoyed yourselves and seek to return.
Great property. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Snow removal was done quickly. Both levels were warm. Lots of dishes in stock for our family of 5. I book it again.

Thank you for your kind words Sheila! We'd host you again! :)
Lovely cabin that easily accomodated 8 adults. The big table in the kitchen/living room was the big draw that allowed us all to gather round. Didn't get to enjoy the balcony but it was a great view outside!Suggestions: grab bars in main floor bathroom esp in shower to accommodate disabilities, extra heater somehow on main floor so the upstairs doesn't get so hot when the heat is turned up, or put fans in upstairs bedrooms. Outlets where toaster and coffee pots are didn't work so had to move them, but appreciated the 2 coffee pots!
We picked this property because it is dog friendly. It is close to Houghton but far enough away for quiet time on the water. We enjoyed the deck and the grill a lot. Having Two refrigerators was so nice. Each of our family members had their own room and bathroom. Lots of room in the living room and big table for large families and playing cards or games. Place was clean and ready on time for check in. Decorated very nice. Having phone chargers on each night stand was great and convenient ! Only complaint I have is the trash bins outside were over flowing so when we left there was no place to put trash except on the ground next to the dumpster. Highly recommend!
