We were in need of a dose of nature and seclusion so we were grateful to find and stay at Greg's spot.
The location is close enough to Houghton so there was no need to pack in a week's worth of food & supplies. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and then some. The home is large and very comfortable with lots of sleeping options, and the jacuzzi tub was the cherry on top.
The 2nd floor window is the place to be! Dawn and dusk are very active times for the wildlife and we were able to see a black bear, a couple coyotes, some deer, bald eagles, and a northern harrier. Of course there are lots of song birds as well and the gold finches were plentiful.
Our dogs loved the space and appreciated being able to run and swim. The pond was very clean and free of fishing lines and hooks which was a relief and very much appreciated.
We ran into a couple of freak obstacles during our stay, but Greg was very helpful and quickly resolved the issues that were within his control.
Houghton is a great college town with everything you need and is about 15-20 minutes from the house. If you venture out further & enjoy fish & chips, I highly recommend Offshore Fish & Chips in Calumet - literally the BEST fish & chips I have ever had in my life (and I've eaten a lot of fried fish, lol).
Ultimately, I wish I would have had a few more days to spend here and hope to come back for another visit sooner than later.
