RAD Half Marathon

We stayed in downtown Asheville for the upcoming RAD Half Marathon on June 8. 2025. The condo was accurately described as shown in the pictures. It was easily accessible to the event and all places in town.

A Hidden Gem

The Altamont Condos are a hidden gem in downtown Asheville. They are well-maintained, comfortable, and pet-friendly. Great restaurants, shopping, and pubs are within walking distance. Prices are reasonable!

Ideal Location, comfortable Quarters

Perfect location for restaurants @nd downtown activities. Accommodations were adequate, not luxurious, but very comfortable and wife and I will stay here again when we come back.

Our trip to Asheville

We really enjoyed our stay at the this condo. The location is amazing. It's so easy to walk to everything in downtown Asheville. The condo itself was a great size for the two of us and the porch was a wonderful place to sit and have a glass of wine after walking around all day. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in Asheville.

Small bit of comfort downtown

A nicely appointed apartment next to a pair of churches ensured a peaceful stay yet just blocks from Asheville's best restaurants and shops. The location was great for walking around and enjoying this charming city, even our dog had a great time.

Great Spot

My wife and I were very pleased staying at the Altamonte property. The location was great and gave us access to everything in downtown Asheville. The instructions were clear around parking and entering the facility. The unit was cozy and well laid out. We would definitely stay on this property property again.

Location location location

This place is all about location. You can walk to everything which we did. We could tell this place hasn’t had anyone stay in a while. It was musty at first and the cleaning was not so great. The ‘Bedroom’ is more just a room no windows or closet but there is a small one in the hall. If you want to stay in a great location this is it. Cleaners just need to do more.

Walkable To Everything

My husband and I were in town for a concert at Harrah's Cherokee Center, and this condo is in a great location. We parked our car, and other than ubering to the concert (because it was raining) we walked everywhere all weekend. We had 2 little dogs with us, and there was plenty of grass right around the condo for walking them.

Pet-friendly downtown condo close to everything

This is a very cute and well-decorated condo located in the heart of downtown Asheville on Church Street. It was easy to find and the rental manager was very accommodating. Nicely decorated and pet friendly. Be aware, however, that it is located right on top of a theater so on Friday and Saturday nights you will hear what's going on in the theater until about 11:00. It wasn't a big problem for us because we normally don't go to sleep until that time when we go to Nashville, but if you are looking for a quiet place this isn't the best choice.

Cute and Convenient

The property is located off Church St making it quiet but accessible to everywhere downtown. You can hear the neighbors but for sleeping the sound machine drowns them out. Our dog was excited by the neighboring unit’s two frequent barkers though occasionally. We really appreciated the supply closet in the hallway and the added touch of ice cubes. Ice cubes seems like a small thing but it was a wonderful detail to provide. It kept us from having to run back out after getting settled! We’ll stay here again for sure!

Conveniently Located Condo in Downtown Asheville

This is a very nice condo located in the heart of downtown Asheville. It is conveniently located to many many good restaurants and shopping. We took Brian's suggestion and parked at the garage on Sears Alley. It was out of the craziness of the downtown parking lots but only a block from the condo when we cut through the church walkway. The condo was clean and nicely furnished. Be forewarned that it is an old apartment building so you will hear upstairs neighbors. The wood floors are really creaky! All in all it was a very good experience and I highly recommend staying there.

Anniversary

We love the area, so we wanted to spend our Anniversary there. Biltmore etc. Condo was as advertised. A bit cramped in the kitchen. Need a place to put luggage, No dresser in the bedroom. Know it’s an old building, with all the things that go with that. Toilet needs some maintenance, had to pour water in the toilet tank to flush several times. Slow fill ! Overall it was a great trip.

Extremely convenient but if you are not on the top floor you can hear everything. I mean everything. Foot steps. The bed springs from upstairs. I am a heavy sleeper but the upstairs young couple kept my wife up from 11:30pm to 1 am. She was irritated. I was impressed. Oh, to be young...

Amazing place

We LOVED this apartment! The location could not be better, you are in the heart of downtown but there is essentially no street noise to interfere with sleeping. The apartment itself is beautiful, high ceilings, hardwood floors, very cozy furnishings, big screen TV, really excellent. It had everything we needed as far as dishes, ice cube trays, bathroom supplies, and it is an elevator building which is great for moving your things in and out. I highly recommend this place and would happily rent it again, especially in warmer weather where we could take advantage of the nice balcony. Only thing of note that I saw mentioned in other reviews, if you are a light sleeper, you can REALLY hear the footsteps in the apartment above you. I always sleep with earplugs when I travel so you might want to pack them for this place. :) But otherwise, this is a real gem for fun, convenience and comfort.
