We are a professional couple who live in a busy city and who need the peace and tranquility that Atkins Bay can provide. We have been coming to the Phippsburg area for over 25 years with our family. We are happy to share our magnificent spot with those that enjoy the unspoiled beauty of Atkin's Bay and the surrounding area.

We spent many years searching the coast of Maine for a 3 season home, but were drawn back to the Phippsburg area because of all that it has to offer. It's close proximity to Boston makes it possible to enjoy even an overnight stay and its unspoiled beauty never ceases to thrill us. It is also great to be so close to Portland, Brunswick and Bath so that we can enjoy all of the cultural events that are available.
My husband is an avid fly fisherman and he can walk down to our pebble beach or kayak out to some of the best fishing spots on the coast of Maine. I always enjoy hiking into Morse Mountain Conservation area and enjoying a picnic on beautiful Seawall Beach. Jogging or walking the 4 mile beach at low tide is also a favorite activity for us. We often take advantage of Sebasco Harbor Resort with its golf course, tennis, bowling, salt water pool, spa and restaurants open to the public and only minutes away. Our house is a welcoming and accommodating place to entertain lots of guests and feasting on fresh lobster and steamers on the deck is a favorite summer routine. We also enjoy the many historic sites in both Popham and Bath. The boat trip to Sequin island is an amazing experience that we always look forward to.
we stayed at this house, one of the most peaceful, private, and beautiful places we have stayed in Maine. It is very secluded, backs into the woods, and has an open front of cottage with a wonderful deck and lookout...you can watch the tides go in and way out, paddle in them when in....we went out one evening, and the water was so warm, like bath water...the rooms were comfortable, cozy, and fine...you can walk down the road to a nature preserve, climb up to the top, and see out for miles and miles and miles....close to Popham beach, and Reed state park, both highly recommended places to go...we loved our stay!!!! I would hope to return next year...
We've stayed at this comfortable home for more than a decade and each year, look forward to returning for a week of respite, relaxation and family time. Cherished moments include drinking coffee or adult beverages on the deck overlooking the water, playing games in the living room and at the kitchen table, reading in the Adirondack chairs and kayaking on the bay. We've made many happy family memories at the house and nearby Popham Beach. My husband's family has been coming to this area since the 1970s, and it's very special to us. You'll find everything you need for a comfortable week, with lots of relaxation or adventure not far away. We wait for this all year long!
We keep coming back year after year for the peace and quiet and exploring the famous Maine coast. Between hiking, kayaking, and visiting all of the quintessential coastal villages and towns there is lots to do. Coming home from a day of adventure we savor the privacy of the location. We especially love being able to take a late night swim in the tidal bay and no neighbors looking on.
The house is comfortable and has plenty of room if you want to have guests over for dinner or an overnight stay. The open concept offers space for friends and families and with the downstairs room children can have their area to play video games, watch tv, and get away from the adults.
The owners are very accommodating and only a phone call away. They want to make your stay pleasurable. Come and enjoy your stay. You won't regret it!!!
Our family of four, two adults, one teen and preteen, stayed at this wonderful home for a week. Such a comfortable space, relaxing, a great place to unwind and connect with nature. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking, day hikes. It is a quiet, peaceful place to stay, but plenty to keep the kids busy!
We would definitely visit again, the owners were accessible and accommodating.
We stayed at this lovely home for a week. We had 4 adults 3 children and 2 dogs and the property had everything we needed and PLENTY of space and comfortable amenities. We were thrilled to find a place that is pet-friendly! We swam, kayaked, clammed at low tide, and paddle boarded off the rocky beach in Atkins Bay. We enjoyed many meals at home - with amazing views from the deck. The kids and dogs enjoyed exploring the terrain and found wild blueberries growing in the backyard. We all slept and hung out very comfortably with room to spare. The climate is fantastic and we enjoyed sleeping with cool breezes coming through the many windows at night. The kids enjoyed downtime watching their favorite shows (cable and wifi easy to connect to). We enjoyed taking walks through the wooded neighborhood. There is ample parking on the property for multiple vehicles and plenty of storage. The property owners go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay and are very easy to get in touch with should you need anything or need to ask for recommendations. There are great restaurants and beaches and convenience shops nearby. Stores: Percy's (postcards and t-shirts) and Bisson's. Restaurants we dined in Spinney's (Phippsburg), The Taste of Maine (Bath), Kelmar's (Boothbay Harbour), the Snack Bar (Small Point), The Five Islands Lobster Co. (Georgetown) - fresh cooked lobsters, BYOB, outdoor dining with gorgeous views- highly recommend!! and Otto's (Portland). Places we visited and highly recommend: Popham Beach State Park- beach pass included with your stay (spacious, pristine beach with treasures galore to be found including sand dollars - climbing on rocky islands at low tide and the clearest ocean I have ever swam in), Fort Popham, Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse (near Portland), LL Bean (Freeport), Boothbay Harbor (quaint with great shops), and Georgetown. Be sure to stop at Shaw's off of Rt 1 in Bath to do your major grocery shopping before you arrive. We highly recommend this property and hope to be back again soon. This is the place to go if you want to relax and create wonderful memories.
