Nestled in Cresson PA, in a very quiet neighborhood so relaxation is great! You will enjoy the 2nd floor of the host's home. A code will be provided for your secure entry.
We are located in the West-Central Allegheny Mountains and 'train buffs' love it here.

Private entrance with all the amenities of your home while you are on vacation. There is off street lighted parking.

You may cook in the fully equipped kitchen with a table and chairs or enjoy local restaurants. Minutes from town with restaurant, pizza and grocery store.

Living room also includes a desk for your convenience. Wi-Fi is provided and the TV has a firestick. Air conditioning is provided.

There are 2 private bedrooms; one bedroom offers a queen size bed comfortably sleeps 2 people and has a private bathroom.

The 2nd bedroom has a double bed and private bathroom.

When you book you are booking for 2 people. If more than 2 people be sure to put the number of people. No more than 4 people.

You are invited to enjoy our back patio with a picnic table or just enjoy the outdoors and star gazing at night.

We are 3 miles from St Francis University, minutes from Mount Aloysius College and 25 minutes from Penn State Altoona.

We are within minutes of Cresson Lake Playhouse, Lemon House and several churches of different denominations. Rock Run Recreation ATV Park, Prince Gallitzin State Park and Blue Knob Ski Resort are about a 30-minute drive. Delgrosso's Amusement Park is within a 45-minute drive. If you like riding your bike, we are near The Ghost Town Trail. Train enthusiasts can visit the observation deck in Cresson, Allegheny Portage Railroad Historic Site, nearby Horseshoe Curve, Carney's Crossing and The Altoona Railroaders Museum. Johnstown offers many sites and memorabilia from the floods of 1936 and 1977. The Johnstown Incline Plane is known for being the "world's steepest vehicular incline plane".

Altoona is a 15-minute drive, Johnstown 30 minutes, 45 minutes from State College and approximately 1 hour from Pittsburgh.

Weekend Getaway

So impressed with Mary’s hospitality! My boyfriend and I were so pleased with the cleanliness and how perfect everything was for just the two of us. We will definitely be back for another weekend getaway!

Cozy Inn

Mary was a great host. We had great communication. My son and I stayed for a wrestling tournament and the place was very comfortable and roomy for the two of us. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect location

We have stayed here before and we enjoy Mary & Rick's hospitality. The location is perfect for our visit with my son. It is a peaceful area, and very beautiful.

All the comforts of home!

My son and I stayed here (at Mary’s) while we toured an area college. This place was easy to find and had all the comforts of home. It was also very clean and maintained. It was really nice to unwind in the living room after a busy day; there’s more space here than any hotel room could offer. We slept well and enjoyed our stay. Recommended!

Property easy to find, plenty of parking. Accessing the room was easy. Mary responded quickly to messages, and was very accomodating. Snacks and water for our arrival was very thoughtful!

Quiet Restful Overnight Stay

This very comfortable 2 bedroom apartment was perfect for an overnight stay and far better than any motel for the price. We would stay again.

Had a great stay at this VRBO residence. The owners were very accomodating and went above and beyond to help us out. When we visit the area again, we will look to see if their home is available.

Warm and Welcoming!

It definitely is a “home away from home”! We entered through a private entrance equipped with a code lock. There is a steep stairway to climb to the apartment…excellent for an exercise workout! We were amazed at how Mary thought of everything we’d need! Our first impression was how clean everything was!!! Very important to us! It is a great set up with a kitchen equipped for making meals if necessary. Even snacks and milk and water in the fridge! The living room is spacious and the furniture is comfortable. There is also a TV and WiFi. The bedroom is a good size with a comfy queen size bed and plenty of drawer space for your clothing. The bathroom is right off the bedroom, convenient and spotless and there were plenty of towels…even sample bottles of shampoos and soap. We were exhausted when we arrived after a very turbulent flight. It was such a relief to be able to just fall asleep for several hours with nothing to worry about… We felt as comfortable as if we were at home! So glad we had the opportunity to meet you Mary and to stay at your lovely rental. If, or when, we plan to return to PA, we hope to be able to stay there again. Thank you for everything!!! Quiet,clean, comfortable with great hosts.

Mary and Rick were so welcoming. After a disastrous road trip to Cresson, Mary's welcome was enough to calm me. All the little touches of home were there- milk in the fridge, tea and coffee and delicious home made banana bread. Being invited to supper as well was delightful. Mary and Rick are kind, warm friendly people. This truly was like home away from home, and they made me feel as if I had been adopted into their family. Loved it.

Just like home

Mary and Rick were very friendly and welcoming, and the apartment was lovely and spacious. I will certainly be booking with them again if I travel to Altoona again in the future.

Perfect location to stay while visiting family

Coming back to visit family in south-central PA has been made much easier after our experience with Mary. I was only about a 15 minute drive from my brother's and my mother's houses. The apartment suited every need we had. The area within Cresson was quiet and peaceful. Mary and Rick could not have been more gracious hosts. We will definitely choose to stay with them again.

Cozy, clean and safe

Mary and Rick were great hosts. The apartment was very spacious, clean and in a great location. I was visiting my daughter at St Francis and it was less than a ten minute drive to campus. Mary even had a sewing machine I borrowed to make some curtains for my daughter! The kitchen had everything I needed to make some great meals and there were even fresh eggs to buy a few doors down from Mary's! I will definitely stay here again. We are nestled between Pittsburgh and State College in the Laurel Highlands. This is a great place for 'train buffs'. Blue Knob is very close for winter skiing. In the summer, enjoy Prince Gallitzin State Park. We pride ourselves on "cleanliness and friendliness" We are off the main road and it is very peaceful and quiet.
I am 3 minutes from Mount Aloysius College and 10 minutes from Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA. Come visit your son or daughter and enjoy our surroundings.
