Joan and Brian live in Oakville in Canada and have 3 wonderful children with our youngest in University! Brian grew up 20 miles/ 30 kms from Soheen and visited Lahinch every Sunday as a child and vacationed there every summer. Lahinch is a very special place for us and just thinking of there reduces our stress! Soheen is a house that we never can stay there too long and we get so excited every time we stay there! We built this house with the best of materials and appliances. It is the house we intend to retire in.
Joan and Brian purchased this bungalow in 1996
Soheen (or in Gaelic is Súichín) is a very special place for us and it lives up to its name which means 'a place of rest'. The review are spectacular and we just love spending time there when we can! We built this house with the greatest care and attention to maximize comfort and be a restful house in keeping with the surrounding natural area.
We, like our guests, that visit our home just love the atmosphere in the house - the wonderful finish which makes it most comfortable. Large open kitchen with wood floor and a perfect place to relax and enjoy the views of the countryside. The living room with natural stone fireplace which is just a perfect place to read a book and take it easy. The master bedroom with its en-suite and has a fireplace to give it that real Irish feel. The large gallery area on the 2nd floor which has a desk to sit and read and do yoga or stretching exercises! The main bedroom upstairs which has wonderful views and the feel that you are in another world and of course the children's room which has 2 bunk beds (3 singles and a double)! A place of rest and rejuvenation !
The house was clean and had everything we needed. The hosts were helpful and easy to work with. Many easy to follow directions and recommendations.
Our only criticism was that not all the beds were ready. We eventually found sheets in the dryer. Not a big complaint for our family but could be an issue for others.
Wonderful quiet location, just outside of town. Bright and spacious kitchen is a wonderful morning gathering place! Bartraa's Restaurant nearby is a must visit! Ben, the beagle will come to visit so be sure to have treats ready! ;)
I rated 3 stars for the comfort of the beds and showers.
Gorgeous house with everything you could need beautiful views and super location
We had a wonderful time in this Soheen home. The home was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed and the location was breathtaking.
Soheen was a great house for us - loved the area and the house was terrific. Great kitchen, beautiful yard, and a couple of sweet dogs that would visit us ( my son loved them). Highly recommend-
This is a sound , comfortable, clean and secure home near Lahinch . There is a rocky private beach a walk down the road, lovely sea views from the home, privacy but near neighbors and an excellent restaurant Barrtra Seafood Restaurant. ( Make reservations ahead of time , they book up ) The biggest plus is the neighbor's dog Ben , a very friendly Beagle/Terrier mix who will gladly show you how to get to the beach or hang out with you on the lawn on sunny days. Everything you need is supplied, and previous quests left dry goods, like paper products and spices, so we did not have to buy all those things. The owners are great with getting back with questions , and have set up a wonderful home. Things to note the house is not in walking distance to town, and the pull out couch is in the kitchen not the living room. We were a group of all single women, so I think having one of the rooms with twin beds instead of one double, or the pull out couch or a full couch in the living room . This would help groups like ours. This house was a great base for our two weeks in County Clare. Lahinch is a great town and a fun town, with a great beach, restaurants and pubs . There are other great towns close to the house, like Ennistymon, Liscannor, Doolin, Lisdoonvarna, Milton Mawbay, and only 1/2 hr from Ennis. Its only about 20 mins from the Cliffs of Moher. Also to note if you have friends who are using a caravan, there is a park close by.
