The ERICKSON NORRIS LAKEFRONT HOME is located in Deerfield Resort on Norris Lake and is is a stunning, cedar and glass, 5800 sq. ft., on a full acre with private boat dock, wrap around decks and inspiring panoramic views. This beautifully furnished vacation rental home is decorated with original art throughout, offers magnificent views of Norris Lake from every room including the master bath. Whitetail deer are often seen enjoying the land around the home. We added $100,000 in upgrades in the spring of 2016.
The large view windows are special energy efficient double pane glass that resists heat and sun while letting in the spectacular lake view. This was part of our extensive Spring of 2010 major renovation to the entire home inside and out. We have also just finished another large update and renovation in the spring of 2016. (see our pics) The home has two large complete kitchens both with new refrigerators, two dining rooms, two comfortable living rooms each with their own large screen HDTVs. The lower living area has a regulation pool table which guests really enjoy. The privacy of having two separate living rooms allows more choices for our vacationers.
Deerfield Resort is a gated community with a wonderful golf course, tennis, swimming pool and other activities. 900 acres of beautiful walking to enjoy spectacular views. There is something for everyone. We have one King bedroom with double sink Jacuzzi bath (and beautiful lake view). There are 4 queen bedrooms (two with private bathrooms) There is a full sized open bedroom on the balcony over the living room which has 2 twin futons and a privacy curtain. Full closet, night stand, dresser ,etc. We chose to have this room open to the two story lake view from down in the living room. There is another twin futon located in an open alcove on the top floor. There are also two adult accommodating European style futons in the lower main room, and four full baths and 2 guest bathrooms.
The ERICKSON HOME is perfect for families and friends in so many ways. We built this custom home in 1992 and thought of every feature possible for our vacationer to enjoy (as well as for us to enjoy with our family) There are two stories of wraparound Lakeview decks, nicely furnished with durable deck furniture and a gas barbecue. Since the home is out on a point and full acre of land, the view are simply spectacular. There is a boat launch area in the resort and several docks where you can rent boats.

This is a family business with Marilyn Erickson the owner, and her daughter and son in law, Kenlyn and Greg Stewart operating the vacation rentals. They live in Knoxville Tennessee and I live in Sedona Arizona.
Greg & Kenlyn Stewart purchased this house in 1992
We chose to build this large home because of family in Tennessee, North Carolina, etc. We enjoy the home ourselves with family during the off season. We originally planned to build or purchase a little cabin but obviously it grew to monumental proportions.
Our family enjoys the home tremendously with the many activities there are including golf, of course. We are a family of intense golfers. Marilyn has her art studio/gallery in Sedona AZ, Vacationers enjoy the home for the choices they l have for so many different activities, 2 large TVs, Fishing and lounging on the lake dock.. Wonderful resort golf course, Pool table on our lower floor for the guys (and some gals). Tennis, Volley Ball, community pool There just is so much to enjoy for a large family with different interests.
Words can not explain how thrilled I was to stay in this remarkable home. As a newcomer to Norris Lake, my experience was unforgettable! The view was impeccable with the large windows and decks looking out over the lake and the easy lake access. I think what made the trip was the amount of deer I saw throughout our stay. I even crossed paths with a family of skunks! Impressive! It's a great place for large groups with all the bedrooms, bathrooms, and TWO kitchens! So you can enjoy being with everyone without feeling cramped. I will undoubtedly be returning to Norris next year and staying in this home again.
I rented this beautiful lake house with the understanding that it was a 6 bedroom, but when I and my family arrived there was only 5 bedrooms available (there were arguements about who gets the rooms). There was another room, but it was locked with a note saying that it was the owners art studio. When I called the owner she told me that she considered the sleeping space on the third floor to be a bedroom, because it had closet space and you could draw the curtains in place of the door. To me and my family a bedroom has a door, anything else is just extra sleeping space. I think that if the locked art room was opened and used as a bedroom than the lake house would match its advertisement of 6 bedrooms other than that it is only a 5 bedroom with extra sleeping space. That would alleviate false advertisement. That is the only issue that I and my family had, because to pay that type of money for a 6 bedroom lake house we should have had six bedrooms, not a sleeping space with a closet and curtains, there were 17 of us; but we made due. Other than that the house was gorgeous and spacious. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and took good care of the house. I did have a chance to speak with both owners and their son-in-law before and/or during our stay and they were very nice people as well as very helpful. Thank you all for the opportunity to visit your lovely lake home and I hope you consider my advice on opening up the sixth room or advertise as a five bedroom so that there will be no future misunderstandings with other guest. Again, thank you.

My friends and I had a wonderful time at this house. There was plenty of room for the 8 of us. The house is big and kept up very nicely. We didn't have access to a boat, but there was plenty to do to enjoy a nice relaxing weekend. If you like to swim or fish, the walk down steps to the lake/slip was short, depending on the water level. The two tier wrap around deck, has a beautiful view of the lake and was large enough to have both shady and sunny spots through out the day. The nice pool table is a great addition to enjoy in the evenings or when you want to hang inside. If you love to cook, there are two very nice large kitchens. Also, the golf course is just a short ride from the house. I highly recommend this place as a nice relaxing weekend getaway.
We just got home from a week at this rental property. It was so nice!! This is our second time coming to Norris Lake and we loved this home better than the first one we stayed at. The beds were comfortable, it was very clean and we had a bedroom for everyone. There was 8 of us that stayed. 3 couples and 2 singles. The kitchen was large and well equipped. Our evenings we played games around the very large table in the dining room. We rented a boat for the week and a jet ski for a few days. The dock was large enough for both. The guys even fished off the dock one evening. The best part was having coffee in the morning and watching the deer nibble in the yard. We will definitely be coming back to this area! Thanks for a great vacation!!
Had a wonderful week with kids, and grandkids.
Everyone was able to do their own thing --- swim, fish, boat from the dock. The runners in the family loved the chance to get their hill workouts in. Golf only minutes away.
The house itself was perfect for all ages --- well appointed kitchens, relaxing "great room", pool table, TV's, plenty of bedroom space and bathrooms.
The house, being on the point of a peninsula, had the aura of being very private and secluded.
Overall, a fabulous house and location!
We rented this fabulous home for two weeks for a family reunion. Everyone, from the 3 year old to the 73 year old, had a wonderful time. Beds are comfortable, master suite is luxurious, kitchens (2!) were well appointed and kept all the family chefs happy, The lower level family room, complete with pool table, allowed all the avid CAVS fans to cheer loudly while the little guys slept upstairs. Viewing sunsets from the deck and star watching at night were breathtaking.Great dock for fishing, swimming -and we brought boats - It was a 5 star, perfect vacation! Highly recommend.
Stunning lake view out on a point, white tail deer and wildlife, paradise location.
