This cozy vacation home, located 5 min. from LaPrade's Marina (with boat launch), is a vintage 1940s-era Lake Burton fishing cabin that was part of the old Camp Cherokee. The cottage is not directly on the lake, but access is available through nearby parks and boat launches.

Updated with modern amenities, the cottage is the perfect mountain getaway for a couple or small family to relax and unwind or experience all the area has to offer. The spacious screened porch has a table for alfresco dining and a twin-size daybed swing... perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or lazy afternoon with a book. Spend the evening around the fire pit with s'mores or a glass of wine from one of the local vineyards.

Very clean and well stocked. Very quiet and cozy. We had a great time and really enjoyed the local restaurants. The Blue Canoe is only half mile away and has good Cajun fare.

Quite cool weekend out of the hot city.

Enjoyed the house, perfect for two. There was no public lake access nearby, that was disappointing. Local hiking spots were nice, dinner at Blue Canoe was good.

Cozy whimsical cottage.

The cottage was lovely! It was decorated with whimsy. And there were lots of personal touches too that made the stay feel cozy and nurturing such as the fireplace, stocked kitchen, cozy extra blankets, games to play and added toiletries beyond the basics.

5 star Lake Burton getaway.

The Moose is the perfect weekend getaway in the NE Georgia mountains. This is a very cozy and accommodating stay, and has everything you need to be comfortable. The cabin is centrally located to everything Lake Burton. 5 mins from Laprades Marina. 2 mins from Blue Canoe. 20 mins from Clayton. 20 mins from Helen. I could not have asked for better host. They were extremely communicative and responsive to any questions I had during my stay. Don’t hesitate. This place is a gem!
