About this property
Quiet, Stand-alone Country Granny Cottage near the Village,
Your check-in will be accomplished via Keypad Deadbolt and ring doorbell camera. Your stay will be in our private, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, approximately 850 square foot, stand-alone granny cottage.
As you enter the abode you are greeted by the warm and inviting colors of our Southwest – Native American Heritage motif. This is the large open and airy Living Space with its vaulted ceilings & skylights. There is a 55” flat screen TV. Amazon eero mesh Wi-Fi & Charter/Spectrum High Speed 300 mbps Internet. There are also a CD player w/radio, books, card games, couch, daybed, chair and ottoman.
On the left is the spacious kitchen and small dining area that is equipped with almost everything you’ll need to prepare your own culinary delights. 20 cubic foot Refrigerator/Freezer, Dishwasher, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Coffee and filters, Gas Cook-Top, New Electric Oven, new pots & pans and more…. and there’s a ton of storage space for your own delectable goodies. We also have a Beach GO-Bag and Pic-Nic basket for you to borrow for those exploration destinations.
The bathroom has a big shower stall equipped with safety bars (no tub). You will also find a hairdryer, soap and shampoo and plenty of clean towels.
The large bedroom is decorated in a tropical island theme with its King Size platform bed (Firm) and huge mirrored closet. Open the slider to access the large smi-private patio. The patio offers sweeping easterly views of our two and a half acre ranchita and Poorman Canyon. Great place to sip wine and enjoy our almost nightly sunsets.
The Chalet is equipped with central heating (no A/C) with programmable thermostat, and ceiling fans in both living-room and bedroom.
All of this is within hiking distance of the charming village of Arroyo Grande.
To remain completely transparent in my listing I want to disclose to future guests that there is a small construction project underway next door that could impact the normal tranquility we enjoy here in the canyon. Fortunately, the worst part has passed so minimum disturbances can be expected. My apologies ahead of time for the inconvenience.
Sleeping Accommodations
The Chalet is equipped with 1 King Bed, 1 Twin Daybed, and a six foot couch, and can sleep (3)three adult comfortably, (4)four adults in a pinch. Pricing is the same for 1-4 adult guests, however, please inform us of the number of guests that will be booked into the Chalet so we can provide the proper level of amenities.
When booking your reservation please be sure to add names and contact information for all guests in your party, especially if you will be arriving at different times.
The Chalet is part of a three-building compound, the main house, garage/guestroom/sunroom, and the Chalet. Residing on the property, I can be available to accommodate any questions or needs that may arise during your stay, but also far enough away to ensure our mutual privacy. This is not a "party house". We prefer to rent to, responsible, friendly people and open our doors to all!
As Chez Chalet Ritz is “A Work in Progress” we must limit guest access to the Chalet and 2-acre Rachita. The barnyard is off limits to guests.
Golden Hawk Lane is a shared access private road that services two other residencies other than our own. My neighbors ask that you please respect their privacy and not enter their property at 875 & 885 GHL. Thank You

Located in Carpenter Canyon, a neighbourhood in Arroyo Grande, this cottage is in a rural area and on a lake. Clark Center for the Performing Arts and Dinosaur Caves Park are local attractions and those in the mood for shopping can visit Pismo Beach Premium Outlets and Nipomo Swapmeet & Fleamarket. Bittercreek Western Railroad and San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum are also worth visiting. Make sure you get close to the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Come experience the quaint and enchanting Village of Arroyo Grande and the surrounding attractions that are The Central Cost of south San Luis Obispo (SLO) county. Here you will enjoy our triple microclimate’s that are infamous to our area. It could be foggy and 55 degrees at the beach ramp in Grover Beach, and 85 degrees at the boat ramp at Lopez Lake, 15 minutes away. The Chalet is located just outside the village and enjoys the best weather our microclimates have to offer.
What makes this property unique
The Chalet is situated on our own private lane and just minutes away from award winning wineries, Oceano Dunes, Monarch Butterfly Grove, Pismo Beach, Pismo Outlets, & Pismo Preserve. Avila Beach/Hartford pier and whale watching. Numerous golf courses. Lopez Lake and San Luis Obispo are just 10-15 minutes from the Chalet. Morro Bay, Montana de Oro and Hearst Castle are short day trips away.
