Great little cabin! We loved the gated porch as it gave our dog the perfect escape into nature without worry. We spent most of our time there just enjoying the peace and quiet. We even had breakfast on the porch. Beds were soft as well as the towels!

We had no issues finding the cabin with our gps. Everything was clean and comfortable and the location was convenient to both the scenic New River valley as well as Boone. We would stay here again if we come back to this area. Thanks for hosting us!

This location was definitely a rustic cabin, high on a hill with a beautiful view of sunrise & sunset. Large covered porch surrounded by Rhododendrons which were yet to bloom, but will be beautiful when they do so. The porch wasour favorite place where we sisters sat swinging, rocking & chatting bringing back memorable times for us! The cabin was stocked with whatever needed, yes a coffee maker & items needed for preparing meals. Packing personal toiletries & items for bath/shower is encourage by renters. Towels, bath cloths, hair dryers are provided, washer & dryer in place as needed for an extended stay. Walter & Cathy are the owners of this property, he encouraged me to contact him when & if needed. My husband & I will make a trip to “The Cabin” in the future, we Love these mountains. Last but not least as Walter shares in his directions for this remote location, GPS is not advised, follow Walter’s directions!

The cabin needs a little tlc. Steps going in are loose and very slippery when wet. We were afraid to use the shower upstairs due to being held together by tape. Some areas in the cabin were very dusty. Overall with some much needed tender loving care this cabin has potential to be a very good mountain get away
