This was a nice stay for my family. The swim spa was nice as it was only a high of 66 degrees for most of our stay, so it was nice to have this in the covered shed for some additional entertainment/relaxation
This was such a wonderful place! Very clean and lots of little thoughtful details. The pool and hot tub were so nice to relax in and communication was excellent. Highly recommend!
Pros: The hot tub/pool combo were very nice, clean, and well maintained. The house was very clean (except the mattress cover). Lots of thoughtful extras such as snacks. Cons: The entry door (which enters into the master bedroom) is an original wood door and the door knob repeatedly came apart and my husband had to fix it or else turning the knob did nothing and you couldn't get in/out. The door was very rickety and there was a HUGE gap (like an inch of daylight) under the door for insects/pests/heat to enter. The master bedroom is in a converted garage with an open stairwell to the basement. This is a very old house, so the unfinished basement smells like an old, musty, damp unfinished basement, which means the master bedroom also smells like an old unfinished basement. We pulled the sheets off as it's a habit when checking out and the mattress pad was truly gross and desperately needed to be washed.
Love the swim spa and hot tub - we were in there every day despite it being the middle of winter. House was thoughtfully stocked and had all the comforts of home. Place was very clean. Hosts were responsive to any inquires. We loved our weekend getaway here and would book again in a heartbeat!
Truly a wonderful stay at this cozy little cottage! The host was immediately responsive when I had a question and there were sweet little touches throughout the cottage to welcome us. We didn’t do much cooking, but when we did make breakfast, everything we needed was available, including seasonings. The pool/spa is amazing!! We enjoyed a wonderful little diner right down the street, too. Just all-around an our stay here was fantastic and we would absolutely stay again!!
The host makes sure you have everything you need to ensure a pleasant experience! The home is very inviting, and well thought out. A spacious shower, and very accommodating bedrooms! The pool and hot tub are great! There are family friendly games, and easy to relax!
The location, the house, and all its amenities were amazing and great for the weekend we were there! The swim spa and the outside activities were great! The interior of the house was great! Everything in the home was new and very nicely done! I would definitely recommend it to others and return if I am back in the area!
We picked this place because it was close to where we dock our boat at Buckeye Lake Marina. The house is very charming. We enjoyed the pool/spa a great deal more than we thought we would. Plenty of places within walking distance. We would return.

Beautifully Updated, Well Maintained and Impeccably Clean
We took a quick trip for a mother/daughter getaway. Everything we needed was within walking distance. The property is beautifully updated, well equipped and impeccably clean. The swim spa area is relaxing and well maintained. We plan to return for another respite in the future.
This channel-side lake bungalow is adorable with good space. The owner has added many wonderful & thoughtful touches to enhance the stay. The Swim-Spa was amazing and part of why we wish to keep this place to ourselves...lol...and if you like great restaurants in the area we recommend The Hereinafter! We had a lovely stay!
The hot tub/swim spa is extremely cool! The hosts have done a lot of updating and remodeling, and it has turned out beautifully. They included a ton of little extras, that were unexpected, but appreciated.( S'mores station, tons of towels, snacks and drinks) We would highly recommend this property and host. Thank you!
We had a ladies retreat with games, movies and swimming. It was perfect. As mentioned in previous reviews the lighting for the pool house would not stay on, but honestly the pool/hot tub lights and provided lanterns worked fine. The bedroom with king size bed was drafty but for a hot sleeper like me it was absolutely perfect. %100 recommend.
We booked this property so that we could be close to our concert location. Unfortunately, the concert was canceled due to the weather. Thankfully this house kept us entertained with games, fire pit, and much more. Very clean! My son and his girlfriend loved walking to the ice cream place down the street. Thank you again!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Small House in disrepair
The following things were in a state of disrepair: The driveway had upraised bricks to trip over. The pavers of the path leading to the house were uneven, loose, and dangerous. Threshold to back door was broken. Handrail for steps up into the house was loose and wobbly. 3 TVs did not work. All gave error messages. Lights to pool house didn't work. AC unit in living room didn't work. Dining room AC sounded like a dying jet engine. Exhaust hood noisy and struggling. Weird open shower with no door or curtain. Deck umbrella broken and leaning at sharp angle. The swim spa had a pool barely larger than the hot tub. There was a 30 page book that I read through, upon arrival, and there were no instructions on how to uncover and operate the hot tub and swim spa. Apparently, there was a remote for the lights, again no info in the book. We couldn't even connect to the wifi because it needed a password not provided. The host messaged me shortly after arrival, but I couldn't message back, on VRBO, without the wifi. Also, who wants to spend their entire vacation asking the host questions and waiting for answers, when all the info could have been listed in the book? Anywhere, we've ever stayed, had consise instructions to operate and uncover the hot tubs and anything else needed. We won't stay here or with this company again.

Most of our previous guests have been discerning travelers and enjoy the luxuries we’ve provided in this lake cottage fully renovated in 2023. They spend their time with us fully immersed in the opportunity to make beautiful memories at this relaxing cottage. I was shocked when the guest messaged me after checkout with a lengthy list of “things wrong with the property.” They wrote this review in response to my message that they never reached out for assistance or to notify us of issues. I received no response after I sent a message the morning after check-in asking how things were going, and to please let us know if they had any issues or questions, so that we could rectify them.
Previous guests have given us a 10/10 rating. We appreciate our guests and are extremely grateful we have been part of their journey. I will not defend every claim the guests has raised even though 90% of them are inaccurate. I noticed that the threshold and umbrella have been damaged and we will replace them.
The guest’s message did not make sense to me UNTIL our cleaning team showed up and found blood all over the sheets. We have never seen anything like this since we have been hosting. Now it made sense that we were being threatened to not charge them for the sheets, or give them a bad review. I acknowledge that you can’t please anyone, well it’s very hard to please someone who is looking to cause problems. The guest email handle is “thebearerofbadnews.” I am not sure we could have pleased them.
Our televisions work, Wi-Fi, ACs, etc. There is no password for the Wi-Fi, so guests log in by picking the network which is included in the check-in instructions with other property information. Guests can log in with their cell phones and hopefully have cellular coverage to access the Vrbo app to effectively communicate with hosts. No past guest has ever needed instructions for the hot tub as it is self-explanatory. Our swim spa is 19’ long which I believe is the longest on the market, and it includes a hot tub which is an upgraded amenity that makes this $50k plus private swim spa oasis a near perfect retreat for guest who enjoy life and enjoy spending it with the people they love. We will not book this guest again.
If you are a potential guest interested in this waterfront cottage (definition - a small simple house, typically one near a lake or beach) please reach out to us with any questions. We are here to make sure you walk away having had a great, fun, and relaxing experience. Hospitality is what we do!
