Back to our roots

The property is one of a kind, very unique, but beautiful and has the ability to make people comfortable. Our family enjoyed the stay and hope to return again in the future. It is very close to where our grandparents lived, and we were able to refresh many memories. Thanks for the opportunity. Paul.

Perfect Escape for a Relaxing Girls' GetawayPerfect Escape for a Relaxing Girls' Getaway

We stayed here for a weekend getaway with a group of 40-something friends, and it was amazing. The house was spotless, and the kitchen was one of the best-stocked I've ever seen in a rental—truly a dream for cooking together and enjoying meals at home. The outdoor space is where this place really shines. There are tons of seating areas—including a beautiful deck above a brook where we had coffee each morning listening to the sounds of the water. We spent our days swimming in the heated pool, soaking in the hot tub, and even playing some tennis on the private court. In the evenings, we grilled on the great outdoor grill and relaxed on the massive, ultra-comfy U-shaped couches indoors. The property is surrounded by tree-covered land, giving it a private, serene feel. We also took advantage of nearby hiking trails, which were easy to access and offered gorgeous views. The host was extremely responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous Retreat!

Our family spent the Thanksgiving holiday at this amazing property in Killingworth CT. The property itself is gorgeous, situated on a wooded hillside with streams running through it down to a beautiful pond. The house is beautiful with 4 amazing bedrooms and a 2 1/2 baths. The master suite is the entire upper floor with amazing views and a master bath with a great rainfall showerhead. The kitchen has a 6 burner gas stove with double large ovens and a flattop grill. It was perfect for cooking a holiday meal. The greatroom has an iconic large stone fireplace that we used almost nonstop. The SONOS speaker system is a great bonus as well. The property is pet friendly which was a key for us. It is close to a great state park for great hikes and lots of restaurants, shopping and the shore just 20 minutes away. We are definitely thinking about coming back in warmer weather so we can take advantage of the pool, hot tub and tennis court.

Gorgeous home and property

This was our first Vrbo stay and it won't be our last. This is a unique home on an amazing property with rocky streams flowing directly next to the house, and views of blooming native flowers from every window. Each of the 4 very comfortable bedrooms have direct access to the outdoors, including a lovely balcony from the enormous master suite. Bathrooms were furnished with nice amenities and ample super-soft towels. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking for a large family, and there was seating for about 10 at the dining table plus outdoor tables. The pool and spa are exceptionally pretty and sited with a lovely, shaded stone patio. The August week was unexpectedly cool, but there were plenty of playgrounds, museums, and parks within a half hour to entertain the kids. For adults, the tiny but charming town of Chester, about 20 minutes away, has plenty of restaurants with outdoor seating and several really nice shops. This location is a peaceful alternative to a beach house - private, quiet, with lots of fun, low-key entertainment options. Everyone was able to relax, while some of us accessed the very good wifi connection to work during a couple of days. The whole family had a wonderful week.
