Very Good

No utilities when we arrived for 5 hours. Cleanliness and issues in the bathrooms, tear gassing across the street with police with machine guns shooting. I will post this on line as a horrible neighborhood and unit.
We enjoyed our stay. We requested a few things while there, extra towels/pool towels and a place to get rid of garbage and didn't get any response from owner. Good location, we felt very safe. The pool had issues, we were only able to use it one day. Would recommend this place
The apartment was spotlessly clean! Everything was there for our needs. The air-conditioning worked great! Communication was fabulous. Just a few blocks walk to the main attractions and amazing restaurants and rooftop bars. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you.

Old city charm
Excellent Location and quarters were as advertised minus the pool which was not open. Disappointed with not being told prior to arrival
Major problem was the pool not being open and not being advised in advance. I would have stayed in another location if I was aware.

Nice Property/Not A Great Block
The property itself had good security and a fabulous restaurant attached to it. We were only 2 blocks from a great area and felt relatively safe but the actual block we were on looked like a ghetto. Also kept getting a delay in getting check-in information and was told the day before we couldn't have it until the day of. We ended up getting it the day before anyway but there was a lot of back and forth to get the information. There were also no washcloths available so bring your own. The place looked relatively clean but the bottoms of my feet were black after walking on the floors barefoot. Overall, the management was very pleasant but it would be nice to see some improvements on those that they can control - obviously not the neighborhood. Police were standing practically on every corner so walking two short blocks to get to the nice shopping area was not really a big deal.
This is a nice apartment in a renovated historical building. It has a little bit of a corporate feel but everything works well. The apartment has nice views and this is very close to many restaurants and the fun pedestrian area and amazing coffee shops. It is at the edge of “el chorillo” historical neighborhood, where you can see the French influence, as the French were present in the late 1800s and attempted to build the Panama Canal. This neighborhood is interesting because of its architectural significance. I enjoyed that part, even though it is a bit gritty and very loud at night. it gave the community a feeling of authenticity that is different from the rest of Casco Viejo that overwhelmingly caters to tourists. (Casco Viejo is loud everywhere). There is a roof deck and pool where I went every day with incredible views of the Panama Canal, the entire downtown and the whole Bay. There is a pool there that was incredible and I did yoga there every evening at sunset, which I will remember fondly. The hotel supplies earplugs but I bought my own better ones in order to sleep because the neighborhood is loud with local music and Evangelists. Somehow, I didn’t mind because it gave the community of feeling of authenticity. There is a doorman, which is helpful for security coming in and out of the building. The second bedroom doesn’t have much light but is quieter than the one with windows. Quirky place but i would stay here again! The roofdeck adds a whole lot !
Convenient location and comfortable accommodations
This is a recently renovated building with nice amenities in a walkable neighborhood on the edge of the updated areas of Casco Viejo. The building is located 2 short blocks from Plaza Herrera, which is surrounded by restaurants and shops, and The American Trade Hotel. The immediate area is yet to be renovated, and you see and hear lots of local people and community life, which can be welcome and a little intimidating at the same time. There were a pair of community policemen at the corner who were very friendly and helpful.
The building sits above Aya La Vida restaurant, which is currently serving lunch and dinner. The staff in the restaurant is very attentive and welcoming - eventually they hope to serve breakfast too, but the Barrio across 12th street serves a nice desayuno, and there is a deli at the square with great coffee and light fare. There is also a grocery store, REY, on Avenida B so you can stock up your kitchen with everything you need if you want to eat in.
The rooftop pool and patio is the perfect way to see the city, the canal and Ancon Hill, while relaxing in cool comfort with fellow hotel guests. Every evening of our stay we joined other guests for a lovely happy hour, very friendly and congenial.
The apartment is sparsely furnished but comfortable beds and 2 baths is great. They need extra towels or at least pool towels, and more hooks/ racks in the bathrooms. Shower floors are slippery too! Floors were swept but not really clean. A great location!
