About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Sutter Creek Cottage has 2 bedrooms with luxury mattresses and home-made quilts. It is a short walk--just 2 blocks--from shops, restaurants, and historic buildings. Adjacent to Sutter Creek Cottage is a foot-bridge that crosses Sutter Creek to Minnie Provis Park. Shenandoah Valley, Amador's wine tasting region, is a short, 10-minute drive away.

Local historic sites of interest include Knight Foundry (across the street), the Monteverde Store (3 blocks away), and Kennedy Mine (about 1 mile away).

Sutter Creek and Amador County is a wonderful place to visit any time of the year. In the Spring, Daffodil Hill is in full bloom and Sutter Creek is at its peak for the annual Duck Race. The warm days of Summer are delightful sipping on wine on the back deck of Sutter Creek Cottage that overlooks the creek that the town is named after. Vintage cars cruise Main Street as music from live bands fills the air. Or go to one of the out door theaters to watch a play. Autumn colors are spectacular and wineries are busy with their Harvest Festivals or attend Sutter Creek's annual Blues and Brews celebration. The Holiday season finds Sutter Creek celebrating its small town simplicity with parades and Christmas celebrations. In Winter, Kirkwood ski resort is at its peak, and is just 1 hour from Sutter Creek Cottage.

About Kathy Allen

My husband and I love living in a small town community where every body knows everybody else. All the neighbors know and care about each other. There's always something going on in town. Music, parades, card parties, charity dinners, and many other events. We have two dogs and love to travel with them.

Why Kathy Allen chose Gold Country & High Sierra

Sutter Creek is a charming, historic town located in California's Gold Country. It embodies small town living and a way of life that is quickly fading.

What makes this house unique

Sutter Creek Cottage is a restored historic home located on a quiet street and is adjacent to the creek. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready to cook anything you may want to prepare. We welcome pets!

Cutest Cottage, great stay

  • 5 of 5

This was the most adorable place. It was spacious with two bedrooms with queen beds in each room which were the most comfortable beds ever. The owners spared no expense to make sure to have the softest sheets and pillows. There's also a pull out couch for another guest or two. This place is right down the street from the main strip which is so convenient for wine tasting, restaurants & shopping. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip and would highly recommend this darling place to anyone thinking of renting a vacation home in the area. My only regret is not staying an extra night just to enjoy the home & scenery!

The setting, the home, the amenities were all perfect! Clean, and everything was perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We were able to check-in early to get set up so that when we returned after our event, we could just relax with the little ones! Everything we needed was provided, and more! Quiet little neighborhood just a couple walking blocks to Main Street. Loved the ambiance, and small creek that runs behind the home. Just a spectacular setting!

Cozy

  • 5 of 5

This clean, cozy and quiet cottage is the perfect place to stay--whether you want to stroll a couple of blocks to browse the Sutter Creek shops or take a drive to see the area's old mining towns and wineries. Kathy & Frank responded quickly to all of our questions and have beautifully furnished the cottage, making you feel right at home. We hope to stay again sometime.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from our stay in Sutter Creek and had the most amazing time. We were excited to find the cottage in a perfect location to explore the town. From the photos posted we expected to find a place that met our needs. Upon entering the home we were pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful home that is warm and welcoming, a true home from home with everything you could possibly need.

I would recommend anybody visiting Sutter Creek stay here - you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic Find in the Foothills

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful cottage is complete with everything needed for a relaxing visit in the Sutter Creek area. It is comfortably furnished and very clean. The linens were luxurious and the location was perfect for a short walk into town. We relaxed on the porch overlooking the creek and had a wonderful visit to Daffodil Hill and Jackson. We would definitely recommend this home to others in search of a quiet, yet comfortable, get-away!
