Another peaceful stay

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love this resort and have been many times. This is the first time we had a not so good unit as far as cleanliness. Upon arriving at the rental I noticed the living room and bedroom furniture was different and older (especially the icing room chairs) than the pictures on the website. The whole condo had not been vacuumed and there was hair and sand everywhere even on the carpet in the living room. We could tell bug spray had been sprayed upon arrival and there were dead bugs and residue along the left picture window at the dining room table. There were also a ton of flying gnat type bugs in the unit. That being said we did our best to sweep up and clean with what was provided. We spend more time outside than in and enjoyed the sun and beach.

Your comments regarding the cleanliness and presence of bugs have been noted, and we will be addressing them directly with our housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure this does not happen again. We also appreciate your note about the furnishings. Occasionally, individual units may differ slightly in décor and furniture, especially if they have been updated or changed by the owner, but we understand the importance of consistency and accurate representation. First stay at Palm Island Resort A3311A

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Palm Island Resort was exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Quiet, uncrowded and beautiful. Unit A3311A was clean and comfortable. The deck offers a great view of the ocean. The beach was phenomenal. Nobody was out there! My wife ran every morning and found lots of shells. I fly fished from the beach and caught snook everyday. The staff at Palm Island were very helpful and polite. Rumbay offers a wide variety of dishes and the food was excellent. We will be back!

Vacation Review

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The accommodations were great. The Rum Bay restaurant prices were very reasonable and the food was very good. Our only complaint, and it's a major one, is the Coconuts convenience store. They are, I believe, price gouging. Consider a quart of milk there cost almost $5.00. Also the cost of the cart rental is too high considering the condition of the carts. The cart that we rented, which replaced the first cart they gave us which wouldn't always go into gear, was well used and in need of repair.

Reviewer Comments: This review will be split to review the unit we stayed in and the Property.The unit (3311):The Good: * Nice view of the gulf.* Good size kitchen for two of us. It was adequately stocked and had a new coffee maker. * AC kept the unit comfortable and had no problem cooling it down during the hot days.* Unit was clean and appeared to be freshly painted.* King size bed.* Nice size walk in shower.Just ok:* The AC had a strong musty/moldy odor for the first hour. We opened up and let a lot of fresh air in while it ran. All good after that.* The balcony looks out to the water BUT the adjacent unit has a balcony that has a line of sight with this one. The neighbors were a bit drunk and loud and were in our line of sight. Not ideal.* The neighbor above needed to get up each night around 3:00 AM and we could hear her walking across the floor. The wood floors separating the unit above is not well insulated for noise. Not a huge issue during the day but less ideal at night.All in all we had a great time and would stay here again.

Amazing, Relaxing Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Palm Island is our favorite vacation spot in the world. We have been regulars here for over 13 years. (We may even buy soon). We have been to almost every famous or popular beach in the world, and Palm Island is simply the best beach in the world. Great shelling and wildlife watching and perfect for long walks - extremely quiet, peaceful, and private. The resort staff is excellent. The only issue we had this time was that our unit was an old one that could use some updates. Many of the appliances are old and don't work properly - the dryer lint basket would pop out during the cycle if you used regular heat, and the fridge light blinked like a horror movie. The resort property is in great shape. It was just our unit that needs some attention.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our vacation was amazing, besides the weather not totally behaving but that's Mother Nature for you. One of our only complaints is that we asked for a place without rugs because my guest and I both have allergies and were promised our unit had tiles. And the other complaint was that our AC broke for an entire day but didn't really notice until after dinner when we called the after hours manager. He was very rude to me and didn't even want to come out to look at problem to see if it was a quick fix or not and we had to sleep in 86 degrees weather inside the villa and in April. I can't imagine what it would of been like if it happened in another month like June, July or August. Yes we were credited back $200 so that helped a little but not much because we were already happy happy with the price we were not happy at all with the ac breaking and them not coming to look at it. Even at a hotel they would of come out to try to fix it, especially staying at a luxury resort.

Wonderful Place to Celebrate Our 50th Wedding Anniversary

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I joined our best man of 50 years ago and his wife on Palm Island to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first time on Palm Island; the other couple has been vacationing there for 26+ years. And now we know why they keep coming back! We had a perfectly wonderful five days. The condo was great, and we loved the screened lanai. We spent time in the beautiful, warm pool every day, walked the beaches looking for shells and sharks' teeth, buzzed around on the golf carts and, coming from chilly Wisconsin, soaked up the sunshine. Each staff person we met was a delight and welcomed us with smiles and a great sense of humor. We even found a beautiful gift basket on the table with wine, chocolates, and a personal card wishing us a happy 50th anniversary. That was over the top! We're already planning a return trip next year. Thank you so much for a perfect celebration.

Sand, Sun and Fun by the Gulf

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We liked the experience so well, we have booked a week again next year. First of all you ride a 8 car ferry across ~300 yards of water to Palm Island. You then drive a little over a mile to the resort parking lot.Upon check in, a large golf cart a drive comes to your vehicle and loads your luggage and you for the drive to your Villa, NO CARS are allowed inside the resort. Once at your Villa your driver unloads and carries your baggage inside. You can rent a golf cart or bike to get around if you don't want to walk. There is a restaurant and a snack shop a short distance away. The Gulf is only a couple hundred yards away and beautiful. A swimming pool is located in between. There is all kinds of activities if you just don't want to do nothing but relax. The staff are all just great, wanting to make you as happy as possible. To sum it up in one word--- WOW!!!!!
