Easy walk to Eiffel Tower/Statue of Liberty in calm French area w/ Great Shops

This beautifully furnished apartment can be your home away from home in one of the last remaining authentically "Parisian" quartiers in the City of Light (so says Vogue Magazine)
NOTE: WE HAVE ANOTHER UNIT IN THE SAME BUILDING!
This apartment has been in my family for 4 generations, it is furnished with family antiques, has a fully equipped kitchen and a clothes Washer/Dryer.
Spacious by Parisian standards at 72m2 (750+ sq ft) the apartment maintains it's charm with beautiful moldings on the ceilings, original honey colored wood floors and clay "tomettes" on the eat-in kitchen floor. There is a separate WC in the hallway.
The (not too) firm queen mattress in the bedroom comfortably sleeps two.
Our building has two security entry doors and an elevator.
Situated in one of the few remaining familial neighborhoods, our little corner of Paris is lively; filled with cafes, parks, grocers, wine merchants and award winning bakeries. You can sit at an outdoor table facing the park and watch "le tout Paris" go by! Right next door we have a well stocked MONOP open from 8am to Midnight, insuring that no tasty want will go unmet.
The Eiffel Tower is a quick and lovely 15 minute walk from the apartment. If, instead, you walk toward the Seine, you can stand on the Pont de Grenelle and see both the Statue of Liberty and the Tour Eiffel simply by turning around!
The metro station is literally a 4 minute walk from our building (I know, I timed it!) It is the Metro Commerce on the 8 line which takes you to every major monument in less than 20 minutes. The #10 line (direct to St Germain and the 6eme) is either 1 stop away (you just cross the platform at La Motte Piquet Grenelle to catch the #10) or an easy 5 minute walk up La Rue due Commerce.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES: Generally speaking we are happy to accommodate your arrival at anytime as we do our very best to not have same day departures/arrivals. That said, while we do understand that sometimes early/late arrivals are unavoidable, please be aware that there is a surcharge for that, payable in cash upon arrival, to the person meeting you. Thank you for your understanding.

We loved staying in Marie's place. Very close to all transportation and good food. The living room is large and very comfortable to hang out in after a busy day. The kitchen is also a great place to make breakfast in.
Having the ride from the airport and check in was so easy. The property was so clean and they had fresh coffee for us which was great! We really enjoyed our stay here, it felt like home. The neighborhood was quiet and being close to the commerce metro station was so helpful. It was also nice having a grocery store right downstairs! Would definitely stay here again!

Thank you Kirsten! I appreciate your kind review and do hope you’ll return soon.
The property is safe, clean, spacious, and well-appointed in a great location. Marie is a perfect host. She resolved a few minor issues quickly, efficiently, and effectively. We would definitely stay there again!!
Spacious, very comfortable and spotless appartment, very well equipped in a super quartier with great brasseries, shops and the metro just 5 mins from the flat. What more could you want.

Thank you Una! I’m so glad you enjoyed the quartier as well as the apartment… we love our little neighborhood, sharing it with guests is a profound joy!
This apartment in the 15th arr. is located in a great residential area, convenient to public transportation. The apartment is well-appointed and sunny, in a secure building. The bed was comfortable. The bedroom overlooking the courtyard was quiet so easy to sleep. It was great to live like a Parisian for a few days. We only wish we had been able to stay longer! An added plus - greatly appreciated - was the pickup at the train station when we arrived. Merci beaucoup & a bientot, Marie!

Merci Christian!
I’m so glad your stay went well… and that you appreciated our cozy quartier.
Come back soon!
If you have not stayed in a Parisian apartment before there are some things that may surprise you. WC without a sink and a fairly small bathroom. But they should not distract you from staying here. The apartment is clean and well supplied. The neighborhood is fantastic and close to the Metro. The owner is wonderfully responsive. A surprising perk for us was we arrived from Brussels, the owner had a car and driver waiting for us at Gare du Nord to take us to the apartment.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay Robert. I totally agree: we have a great neighborhood.
Working with the confines of a building from 1903 that had no bathrooms is challenging for sure… but it’s Paris! I hope you will come back again.
If you want a modern apartment this is not it. If you want to be in the heart of the action this is not the place. BUT if you want a real Parisian neighborhood with an active street life good bistros and shops this is the place AND you are 3 blocks from a Metro station that will get you to the action in under 30 minutes.

Thank you Louis!
There are actually 2 metro stations: Commerce (line 8) is a 4 minute walk, and Emile Zola (line 10) is about 3 blocks - or you can walk across the platform at La Motte Piquet Grenelle which is 1 stop from Commerce!
I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay… and thank you again for planting herbs in the terrace “garden”.
Come back soon!
We enjoyed our 3-week visit. The apartment is clean and spacious, with high ceilings and lots of sunlight, on the 3rd floor with an elevator. The building itself is quiet and well-maintained.
The apartment is located in a residential area away from the tourist bustle. We loved visiting the local neighborhood cafes and markets almost every day. The Metro is right around the corner with easy access to all major tourist sights. The Eiffel Tower, the Seine, and the Cordon Bleu Cooking School are all within a short walking distance.
The street outside can be noisy at times with cars and emergency vehicles (fairly common in Paris). However, the windows block most of this noise in the living room. The bedroom was always very quiet since it faces the back courtyard. We also loved hearing the sound of church bells from the nearby church.
We appreciated the airport pick-up and the smooth check-in process.
We would recommend this apartment to anyone seeking a truly authentic Parisian experience. Merci beaucoup!

Lively Neighborhood
Marie responded quickly to our inquiries, shared travel recommendations and made accommodations for our family, all of which, we appreciated!
Pros:
Spacious and well secured apartment, comfortable furniture, and bed. Wood floors throughout. LOTS of boulangeries, fruit markets, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, wine and specialty shops 1-2 minutes from apartment. Close to the Metro, bus and farmer’s markets. Easy walk to main attractions.
Cons:
Bathroom does not have a sink (sink in kitchen and shower room).
The apartment is located on a main thoroughfare with a fire station and ambulance company less than 1 minute away. We stayed 4wks (July 2023), which required opened windows, to cool the apartment. It took us a few weeks to get used to the day/night sirens, partygoers, and traffic.
If you want peace and quiet, this may not be the ideal location. But, if you want a lively neighborhood, this is the place for you!

Thank you for your thoughtful review Flo.
Just to be clear, you were in Paris over the Bastille Day weekend. Every fire station in Paris (through out France actually) has a HUGE dance party on the 13th and often the 14th as well. It is a festive week everywhere. Normally, our neighborhood is very quiet except maybe during rush hour trafic in the morning and evening, with little trafic on the street below during the other times. Night time is VERY quiet in the building.
With regard to the lack of sink in the WC; please remember that this building was constructed in 1903. The water closet was built to be a WC only. The bathroom (or shower room) always has a sink. And, there is a sink in the kitchen, right around the corner from the WC. I have yet to find a plumber who is able to install a sink in the WC due to it’s small size.
There are no clubs in the area, or late night restaurants or all night cafes nearby… so what ever you were experiencing is simply Paris in the summer.
Ours is a family neighborhood, not a tourist area, and there is family and small family run business activity.
Just for future reference, if you are looking for complete quiet, the 16th is probably a great area for you… it is known as the Quartier Dortoire : where people go to sleep as there is really not much else.
I enjoyed hosting you, you were very thoughtful guests.
We recently spent 17 nights at this property. Absolutely loved the location. Enabled us to mingle with locals. There is everything you could possibly want in this neighborhood. Great restaurants, food stores, pastry, cheese shops, pharmacy, the metro. The list just goes on. If there were not so many sites to see in Paris, we could have been happy never leaving the neighborhood.
Marie was amazingly accommodating from the (professional) car service that picked us up from airport (at her expense) to arranging for the service to take us back. The driver on both ends was a God send. She also had someone literally curbside when we arrived to bring our bags up.
The apartment is great. When researching the majority were half the size. It was very comfortable for two people. It is perfectly described. Clean, spacious, perfect!
We were fortunate to actually meet Marie as she was in Paris for a few days during our stay.
We had one issue and I only tell you this because I want you know how quickly she addressed it. On a Saturday morning we had no hot water. By 1 o’clock (and remember this was a Saturday) the plumber was at our door. We had absolutely no other issues.
She even sent in her cleaning service mid-way thru our stay, at her expense. She honestly is a superior host.
We have never been in another apartment in Paris, but my sense is this apartment is a gem to find.
Without any reservations, I would recommend this property. Thank you Marie 💕

About the host
Hosted by Marie Z Johnston
Hi! I'm Marie , a California expat with family roots in France. I host travelers in 3 different apartments in the same building, that have all been in my family for four generations. My apartments feel like family homes because they are! I speak English and French and I love giving travelers an authentic experience by sharing tips on where to go and what to do in this beautiful city that I am lucky to call home a part of each year.
Why they chose this property
These apartments have been handed down through 3 generations. My grandfather loved the architecture of the building (Classic Hausmanian) and the location. you will too.
What makes this property unique
Our building is in a French neighborhood not a tourist area. It is quiet at night and you will hear mostly French in the local cafes. It is an immersion experience! Perfectly located with great public transportation to quickly arrive anywhere in the city,. If you are a walker, then you will love walking toward the Seine to say hello to the Statue of Liberty as you head towards La Tour Eiffel, the Trocadero and Notre Dame.
