Quick weekend trip

First Lake Trip

Clean and Convenient

The hotel was conveniently located on the highway. It was clean and simple to check in. The road nearby was noisy in the morning. Other than that it was a great place to stay while visiting on business.

Perfect weekend away

The staff was amazing. Property was clean, however i would have liked a broom or vacuum for all the sand. Could use some updates in the room specifically, but it was very clean and a wonderful stay. Would go back again!

It has always been an amazing place to stay; but Jamie and his staff have made it better than it has ever been. A perfect place to launch from if you wish to get to the myriad attractions in the area; although you may find that as unnecessary as I do. I for one prefer to stay put at North Shore to enjoy the manicured beach, great pool, and one of the most beautiful views on earth of Grand Traverse Bay.

Great vacation

My husband and I were looking for a reasonably priced get away with no work or responsibilities. We found it here! The condo, although small, was perfect for us. It was very clean (and I’m very picky). It is nicely updated. With a few minor updates in the bath and kitchenette, it would be a bit nicer, but still did the job for us. The location on the East Bay is beautiful and the beach/lake area is very sandy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool is a great option if you don’t like to swim in the lake. Will definitely go back!

Positives- very friendly front desk staff, loved the heated pool, close to downtown about a 10 min drive, ample parking, clean property, laundry was right there and worked well, short walk to the beach and beautiful views Negatives- called about shower not working, they stated handyman fixed it but getting hot water to work on the shower was far too difficult and still felt like the hot water handle was going to fall off, then very low water pressure on top of that, do not expect a quick or easy shower. You need to bring eye shades to sleep if you are sensitive to light because the LED lights in the parking lot shine directly into the bedroom and there is no curtain rod to hang your own black out curtains. We used beach towel clamps and got our own black sheets to block the parking lot light.

Maria, Yes, all on water units are much larger with a full kitchen. We hope you come back and stay in one of the on water units next time. 200,300, and 400 are smaller and more of an efficiency unit. The beach decor is welcoming and charming. It is one of the smaller units here, perfect for two or 3 people that need a place to rest their head or watch a movie, while you spend the rest of your stay at their sugar sand beach, relax by the pool, have lunch or read a book at the lakeside deck or explore Traverse City. North Shore Inn’s staff makes you feel welcome and like family. Definitely family friendly and close to so many activities in Traverse City. This is the place to stay while you visit Traverse City!

We came to traverse for a wedding and it was so nice to have our own little space that made us feel right at home. Only thing I wish we could have changed (minor detail) is black light curtains in the bedroom. It was bright as daylight in there because the window is facing the parking lot. It was difficult to stay asleep with our room being like daylight in there. And maybe some travel size shampoo/conditioner. Thank you for everything else. It was a great stay and I hope to return to this particular condo the next time we visit!

Unit review

The unit was clean, but smaller than it appeared it in the online photos. It was nice being able to view the pool from the unit, but hearing multiple kids yelling & screaming in the pool area from the time we checked in until the pool closed is something we could have done without. The people above us were very loud as well. The parking lot was crowded and smelled like pot. We won’t be staying here again. It was ok for one night and the complaints aren’t really anything the property owner has any control over. I would suggest adding a tv to the bedroom though as the only tv in the unit was a very small one mounted in the living room/dining/kitchenette area.

Thank you for taking the time to review. We have undergone major renovations and more to come. Eventually we hope new windows would help with the outside noise. Nothing irritates me more than the pot smell, so I agree with your sentiment on that. With the way the laws are in Michigan now, it seems its everywhere you go. We will note the TV situation as well and hope to provide a better option in the future. We have a great property and would hope you'd come back again. Next time staying in a bayside condo may be a great option. Unit 200 is known as one of our efficiency units and is smaller than the others on water. The on water condo's offer a full kitchen as well. Again, we strive to improve and we really do appreciate any and all feedback. Jamie GM
