About Laurie Sullivan
Prairie House is a custom prairie style home that sits atop a glacial drumlin overlooking 120 acres with panoramic views of prairie, woods and lake. It was designed by Madison Architect, Arlan Kay, who grew up on a farm in Iowa with a love of the land and took great care to tuck the home into the hillside to complement its beautiful natural surroundings. The house features local lannon stone and red oak and features an abundance of natural light with 7 skylights along the rooftop that Arlan referred to as the 'spine of light' along with ceiling to floor windows across the living room and kitchen, and large bay windows in every bedroom. We've thoroughly enjoyed hosting hundreds of groups from around the world since 2006 and continue a tradition of providing gracious amenities and old-fashioned hospitality. We raised a family here and are happy to share suggestions for local dining, shopping, cultural, and recreational activities and day trips in the surrounding villages of the Rock River watershed.
