Chris, the owner, is great. Communication was excellent and he even left the light on for us since we weren't getting in until late. There were some water issues we weren't aware of but Culligan water was provided for drinking. The view is breathtaking. It is quiet and peaceful.

Great location! Friendly community with a private beach a block away. Screened in porch gives a view of the lake.Big selling point was boat with an electric trolling motor. Caught a few bass, however lots of nice sized perch and bluegills. Nice fenced in backyard with picnic table and table and chairs and a bench on the dock. If you like being outdoors, this is the place for you! We stayed two weeks so having a large refrigerator with freezer limited our need to shop.Really good value for the price and will be staying again next year. Host responds quickly to any questions.

Great little cottage, just what we wanted. We kayaked, we swam, we drank coffee on the dock. Would like to come again soon!

Nowhere does he post in his listing that this is unpotable water - upon arriving you are greeted by a sign over the kitchen sink which reads do not drink the water. A similar sign is also over the bathroom sink as well, A water cooler is provided, Upon texting the owner about this - he said it's well water - so it has to be classified as unpotable. Is it safe for showering? Everyone on this road does as all have wells - there is no street water. Re-assuring ? AI says maybe / maybe not. The reviews listed seem to be scammed. A 9.4 overall rating? It was not clean - there was dust and a flying bug on the screen window when we got there. The picture of the dock in the Vrbo page is from many years ago when it was new - it's now patched up and falling apart. There were 2 space heaters provided as there was no heat - they must be plugged in in opposite ends of the cabin otherwise a fuse blows. This cabin is not recommended - we ended up requesting a 50% refund and got it.

The reason we put up the “do not drink the water” is to remind guests we have a bottled water cooler, and to conserve the water usage as we have a limited septic system. The well water goes through a filtration process, and the health department frequently checks the lake water. And yes, everybody on the street has well water to shower and bathe with. I’m sorry that you seem to be so repulsed by the idea of well water. Then you complained about a housefly and the cottage being dusty! Really? Most guests usually tip my housekeeper and say thank you for the many “extras” that she provides for them. You insinuate some of my reviews are somehow fraudulent but I assure you they are all submitted by previous guests. Plus VRBO has a strict vetting process before any review gets published. I hope you had a chance to read all the handwritten reviews that fill up 3 guest books. And just because you were unhappy, don’t denigrate the other quests that took the time to express their positive opinions. Also, it’s a breaker panel not a fuse box. And the reason you tripped the breaker was because you had two space heaters running on the same outlet. Plus I have a full heating system but maybe you didn’t want to use the ventless propane wall heater that heats the whole cottage. And as you can obviously see that the dock is being redone with Trex decking for the 2027 season. Finally, double check your math skills because I most certainly did not give you a 50% refund.

Relaxing Stay

The property was nice and it was a quiet area was able to take my 4 year old granddaughter for walks without having to worry about traffic The fenced in yard was great for our dogs plenty of bluegills to be caught off the pier which is great for young ones the inside is comfy and rustic The weather wasn't the best for our time there but we still had a relaxing time The host was also responsive to questions and requests we had

Quiet cottage by the lake

I am satisfied with this location. Very quiet place, beautiful lake, boats at your disposal, kitchen with all cooking ware , cable TV, comfortable beds.

Great little cottage

We had a blast at this cottage, super warm cozy vibe! We went with our 2 kids, grandma and 2 little dogs, couldn’t been happier, lots of things to do, kayaking, fishing, swimming, eating out, glea market, etc… The owners were always on top of things and very responsive, we recommend this place a 100% looking forward to coming back next summer :)

Very relaxing, peaceful lakefront

We stayed three nights after a long New England trip. We were able to relax and enjoy wonderful view of lake from cottage. Beautiful mornings enjoying coffee on the bench at end of dock. Just what we needed.

Great getaway

Lake was lovely, neighbors were welcoming but unobtrusive. Cottage had Wi-Fi which came in handy for phone calls. Relaxing.

Perfect lake front cottage. Nice dock to fish from has a bench we put 6 people out there. Quiet lake peaceful no motors only electric motors allowed. Cottage is cozy and a ton of games to choose from. Close to town center for any grocery items and a cute breakfast place Nicks Cafe. Will be back!!

Great place!

We had a great time at this place! We appreciated that we had use of the boat and trolling motor. We caught lots of fish and and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Owner was very nice and checked in to make sure all was good. We will definitely be back! Thanks for sharing your place!

Once again we had an amazing time enjoying the lake and all the boating equipment available. And catching all the fish. We will definitely be returning again next year if available.

Great place for a weekend get away!

I stayed with my parents and our 2 dogs. We had my niece and nephew come visit. They loved the lake! There are plenty of watercrafts on the property. Their favorite was the paddle board and kayaks. The dogs also loved the property. The back yard is fenced in and the lake is very shallow. Thanks for a memorable stay!!

Most Amazing Place to Stay

On behalf of my family and I, we were overly amazed at how beautiful the property was. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is honestly the best place to stay and we would highly recommend this lovely cottage. And, to add on to how wonderful it was, the property sits on a beautiful lake that was great for fishing. The pictures on the website doesnt do it justice. You HAVE to go there to see all of its beauty. It was also well stocked with everything that your family needs. Also, a very peaceful place to go and just relax! The communication with Chris was great. Whenever we needed him for anything, he was just a phone call away. We cannot wait to visit again.

Great amenities but indoor water was an issue

The property is exactly as described. The owner is very responsive and had all the water craft you could ask for to play on the lovely lake. The fenced in yard was a huge plus so for our dog. The water inside was not potable, however, which made brushing teeth, showering, and cooking a little uncomfortable. The owner did provide a lot of bottled water.

My apologies on all the sediment in the water. The water filter definitely needed to be changed. I’ll be changing out the water filters monthly during the busy season to avoid any future water issues. Thanks Chris

The cabin was in a great location. Beautiful lake access. The issue is the water was not fit to be used out to the tap. Chris said he needs a new filter. It should NEVER be rented until the water issue is fixed. The water was smelly, rusty and harsh on our skin, and I didn't feel the water was usable to wash any dishware. This was not expressed to us before renting. It's a homey place, kept like someone lives there and leaves for us to use it. There are many small repairs that could be made to make the place better. It would have suited our needs if the water was potable. If water was repaired and upkeep and maintenance was completed on the property, it would be a great little place. Having a property welcome "book" is the least of the needs.

A wonderful lakefront property and area for a relaxing getaway with a terrific owner and host

I just had an incredible weekend at this property with my two dogs and a guest I invited for part of this day. First of all the owner Chris is so responsive to any requests and really goes out of his way to make sure that you have everything you need for a great little vacation. Before I even got there he assured me that there was air conditioning in both bedrooms because my older dog gets overheated. When I arrived Chris also showed me fans and the ac and how everything worked and made sure that I knew everything to enjoy the area thoroughly. There is in addition to the fenced in property and beautiful dock on the crystal clear lake which is so quiet because there are no motor boats A beautiful sandy private beach that is A couple of minutes walk down the road one way, and a couple of minutes or less down the road to the other way is the boat launch for the community where you could take your dogs to swim. We enjoyed the rowboats the kayak paddle boat and a big blowup floating ring tremendously! The water was warm and crystal clear we stayed in the sandy lakefront area in the private beach for hours until our fingers and toes are wrinkled up like prunes and we were so happy.

Heavenly!

Very rustic, cozy, and well equipped property. It was three days in heaven. The confined backyard kept the dogs in at all times. Explored the lake kayaking. Also tried the paddle boat. Bonfires, BBQs on the grill, and wine every night. Loved the dock. As a photographer, I enjoyed taking pictures of everything. Thank you, Chris, for sharing your lovely property. We even enjoyed watching the thunderstorm from the inside!!! (I have to mention for those who complain about property being “too rustic” about “no ladder on the dock”, these are rural country properties-not the Hilton Hotel or an all inclusive swimming pool in the Caribbean. And for those complaing about the lake being shallow..... write a complaint letter to Mother Nature). We love these properties, mostly to get away from “shallow” and ridiculous people!!!!). Had to throw that in! Again, THANK YOU, Chris!!!! Will most definitely return!
