About this property

Quirky Country Charmer

The Bunkhouse is a one-bedroom cottage. There is a large covered front porch with seating and an outdoor fan. The front door opens into the living room, which has lots of comfortable seating and a smart TV. A large ceiling fan and mini split ac/heater keep things comfortable. The living room flows into a compact, fully equipped kitchen. This cabin was obviously added on to in stages, which brings us to the quirky part. The wall dividing the living room from the bedroom still has the framing for what had been windows. The windows are long gone but the empty spaces are filled with pretty stained-glass pieces. There are step downs to both the bedroom and the mudroom. The full bathroom with washer/dryer is accessed from the mudroom. A back door exits the mudroom.
The outdoor area offers an open picnic area and covered pavilion. A swing and firepit complete your options for outdoor enjoyment.

Country peace

From the moment we checked in we fell in love! Such an easy check in and great welcome! It was immaculate, comfortable, welcoming and warm. Perfect for a couple get away. We actually were excited to get back to the Bunkhouse and relax, play some games, have a glass of wine and watch the horses in the pastures. Our host Kellee was prompt to respond and wonderful!

I am a practicing veterinarian who also breeds Australian Stock Horses. I bought this property and love to share it with others.

Why they chose this property

Sandhaven offers privacy and peace. The Bunkhouse is located in the middle of an active equine breeding operation and an easy walk down the driveway offers views of our competition horses as well as the broodmare/baby and oldies/yearling pastures. Wifi (we have a cell tower on the property) offers the ability to work from the cabin. We are located within an easy drive to Austin, Bastrop or Round Top for shopping or entertainment, and 225 acres, surrounded on all sides by other large tracts of land, offers a chance to relax after your endeavors.
